"Rarity?"

I ignored Sweetie Belle and continued to sew a short pink dress, the butterfly wings that went with it finally finished and set aside. I was always busiest around Nightmare Night - there were no other costume shops, and it was expensive to order one from another city. Are those ruffles uneven?

"Shhhh-" Calm down. Don't swear in front of your little sister. Thank Celestia for seam rippers.

"Rarity?"

I focused on the pink fabric and pair of scissors in front of her instead of the yawn in the back of my throat. I haven't slept for two days - I could handle a few more hours. I need to get this and the new pirate costume for that one colt and then I can get some sleep. Glorious, sumptuous, restful sleep in my nice warm bed...

"Rarity?"

There, some nice even ruffles on that princess skirt. Now for the crown. This was always the most nerve-racking part. Did I have to do this right now? I still had the rest of the afternoon, maybe I could get a head start on the pirate costume.

No. I do not procrastinate. A lady does not procrastinate. Here's my jewelry box, yes, and the tiara. Ease an amethyst into that slit right there, then one on the other side...there we go...

"Rarity?"

Can't she see I'm busy? Sprinkle a few of those beautiful pink diamonds I found a week or two ago around the amethysts...ooh, there's that lovely ruby I saved for a special order, that would look lovely...

Easy now...

"Rarity!"

"What do you want!?" I whipped around to see a startled little filly almost dropping a breakfast tray. I sank down onto the floor. "I'm sorry, dear, I shouldn't have shouted. I'm just very stressed right now, you understand?" I smiled weakly at her. She nodded determinedly.

"Which is why I got you some breakfast." She lowered the tray down, not breaking a thing. A cup of tea and cereal had never looked so wonderful. "You need to take a break."

I sipped the tea, savoring the feeling of warmth traveling down my throat. Peppermint tea was really making its case. "All right, I guess a short one would be fine. But you have to do me a favor and wake me up within the next few hours, alright?"

"Alright. Just promise me that you won't think about work at all."

"I promise." I ruffled Sweetie Belle's mane as I headed into my bedroom. Pillow, meet head. Ah, yes...
