chapter 32:in the eyes of a decedent (WARNING:not yet filtered through editor)

My head was aching as all I could see around me was the wood of the cold room...the only two people who mattered in-front of me who were supposed to give comfort only filled me with fear as I reached for them but my muscles tried to retract away as I saw their bodies and souls melt away while the world around me began to crumble and shatter along side with my sanity in a powerful crunching sound. "No...no...pleas..." Any words I tried to so much as think of didn't escape my lips as I was forced to watch the old world crash into nothingness.

My vision started to vibrate violently as my pupils went black with my vision soon fallowing.

I jolted up, clenching the chest piece of my armor as I panted in fear at the re-accruing nightmare as I quickly scooted closer to the bonfire for comfort, not caring how many eyes I attract. 'It was just a dream...its in the past now.' I tried to repeat to myself as I kept hitting my helmet...I started to let out a silent cry as even the herald showed pity.

I took off the helmet piece by piece and looked at the silver markings on the sleek black, not giving in to the shine of the sun giving it a oddly comforting feeling especially considering its origins was in the depths of a poisons kingdom. "...Why was I chosen?...why was my ancestor taken from the undead asylum but I was simply plucked from the streets?" I was simply talking to myself by this point but hearing the sound of my own voice was still very comforting.

I took the hilt of my sword that leaned on the rock next to me and got up while taking my shield off my back and placing my sword on my shoulder where it belonged due to the weight and length of the whole blade, no wonder Vendrick had to drag the thing around. "...You'v only got Nashandra in your path...are you ready?" The herald's voice came from right behind me...I wanted to say yes but i'v had enough of the dark to last a long time.

"No...I just need to move around a bit." I walked to the massive hole in the center of majula and looked down into the abyss, feeling my heart race and my hands shake. 'Do it.' A deep voice whispered into my ear with a gold chill running along my skin. 'Join us spawn of dark.' The voice...was strangely attractive...I felt my legs unwillingly move closer to the only spot that doesn't even have any wood under it.

My heart began to slow as the world began to slow around me again, the feeling was familiar to when I first received the dark sign but this time I was the one falling...and I was falling into the abyss.

...CRASH...

My vision slowly flickered back on as I laid flat on my stomic, same as when I arrived in Drangleic only this time...I was not laying upon a old alter, I was laying upon the soft, cold ground. "Well well well, another human." A voice similar to the voice in my head from earlier but this one was more feminine came from just above me as I hear the...clopping...of...hooves?

I used what force I could to push myself off the chilling ground and blink my blurred vision back into normality before looking up slightly and seeing the deep abyssal black coat of a long equine like leg. "...Who...and what are you?"

"Oh? Humans give females the same armor? hmmm intriguing." Well at least I knew that I wasn't the first human so maybe this is...normal.

I looked up and saw a large armored horse with a horn and two very large wings, not to mention dagger like teeth in its grins. "You have met other humans besides me?"

The large horse began walking around me, starring down at me as if examining me. "Yes, I have met two other humans besides you so you don't have to worry about being treated like a alien in this world...welcome to Equeastria." She offered a hoof to help me up and I took it with a nod as I got up and picked up my blade and my shields.

"Equeastria eh? interesting name." The pony gave a chuckle and nodded as I looked around at the mountains, beautiful trees and wonderful darkness and the moon was simply hypnotic. "The night here is simply beautiful."

I don't know what I said but when I finished that the pony seemed to be absolutely delighted looking for some reason. "You have a appreciation for the night?"

"Of course I do, its one of the few times I can think because it so calming." It seems that whoever this pony was seemed to have a affiliation with the moon because I noticed a moon on her flank.

"Then it is a even larger pleasure to meet you, I am Nightmare moon." ...Interesting name.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Ruby...although the only things resembling the color on me are the cape and my eyes."

"I see...well I have a favor to ask of you Ruby, are you willing to listen?" I gave a nod which caused my armor to clang and rub on itself lightly. "Very well...since you enjoy the night so much then perhaps you wouldn't mind working along side me to help...spread the beauty of the night?" That pause made me raise a eyebrow but I considered the offer.

"Hmmm...Very well...I shall work along side you, just don't put me in a dress I may be a woman but that shit does not fly with me." Nightmare moon chuckled then nodded at my request.

She put a hoof onto my shoulder and looked down at me. "Very well Ruby...Welcome to the children of night." I bowed to show some respect as she then let go of me. "Come...your first assignment will be very well suited to your strengths...or I believe it will."

"If you mean fighting or breaking the chains of fate then I certainly can do that..." I replaced my shield for my poison stone twin blade in case the assignment is a fight.

Nightmare moon gave a short laugh and started to grin. "Excellent...I can simply tell you will be a powerful warrior...I'm glad to have you by my side."
