Of Tricks And Treats

So Very Punny

"I don't know why Twilight does math problems for fun. I'm open to any and all forms of fun, but math just doesn't add up for me, ya know?" Pinkie dissolved into a fit of giggles. Applejack sighed, her smile growing steadily smaller.

She loved her fillyfriend. Really, she did. But she didn't think sitting on top of her and making bad puns while she was bucking apples to make into assorted treats for Nightmare Night was necessary.

"Pinkie?"

"Yeah?"

"Why are ya doin' this?" She kicked another tree, watching the apples fall as she moved onto the next one.

"Because I want to spend some time with my juicy Apple, of course!" Pinkie pecked Applejack on the forehead as the latter blushed from the sensual nickname. "And because I wanted to see how many puns you could endure before asking me why I was telling you so many terrible puns."

"How many did I get?" Applejack's smile widened. That was such a Pinkie thing to do.

"Twenty-seven. More than I expected. But you've always been a stubborn goose."

"A stubborn goose?"

"Ya know, 'cause I'm a silly goose. You're a stubborn goose so we can both be gooses together!" Pinkie explained.

Applejack laughed. "Okay then, silly goose, could you get off and help me buck some trees now?"

"Yes sir, ma'am, sir!" Pinkie saluted and jumped off of Applejack, scurrying over to the tree in front of Applejack.

"By the way, Pinkie..." Applejack turned to Pinkie and winked. "You're pretty punny."

Pinkie burst into laughter, and eventually Applejack joined in. "We're both punny, AJ." Pinkie said as she wiped her eyes. "Even the portmanteau of our names is punny."

"I'm afraid I don't follow." Applejack couldn't wipe the smile off her face no matter how hard she tried.

"ApplePie!" Pinkie exclaimed. "The only kind of dessert you can make better than me."

Applejack giggled. "We're a right punny couple, you and me."

"That we are, my Apple mare. That we are."
