//------------------------------// // Wrong universe // Story: Prince Solaris's Unexpected Visitor // by Metroid Prime //------------------------------// Prince Solaris, Co-ruler of Equestria, and brother to fellow co-ruler, Prince Artemis, was busy sitting in his room enjoying his day off as his brother was covering his duties. The renowned Prince was currently enjoying his tea after recently shaving, he considered beards to trap food and other items so he shaved regularly. He sported a red flowing mane and a sun cutie mark, for now he had taken off his royal regalia. He had everything he ever wanted. His beloved brother had been restored and was now ruling beside him as the family they were meant to be, a country at peace and prosperity, and a student would was faring much better than the last one. Although he hadn't given up on Sunset Glare yet. But there was one thing that was wrong with his life, one thing he had been trying to solve ever since he put on his crown. He...was lonely. For many years he had sought a mare who would love him for who he was, but alas that was not the case, and anypony he courted was only interested in him for his position. They wanted to bear his foals for the sake of their family’s house claiming a stake in the royal family, so he dumped them immediately whenever he found out their true intentions. Also there was the fact that normal ponies did not posses longevity like him and his brother, so even if he found somepony they would die in 60-70 years tops. It was so sad, all he wanted was to have a mare to call his wife, to have foals that he could raise and love as he did his subjects. But as such fate had screwed him over the last thousand years, unlike his brother Artemis who was currently dating the Captain of the Royal Guard. "Lucky fish, I was gonna ask her out first!" he thought to himself. For the first time in a while, Solaris envied his brother. He sighed, "Sometimes I wish that the universe would drop the perfect mare right in front of me." Then, as if the universe owed him a debt, a bright light flashed before the Prince, followed by a teleportation sound. Although the light caused him some discomfort, Solaris adjusted him eyes and looked at space which was now occupied by another being. What he saw made his heart skip a beat. "Oh sorry, I hope I'm not interrupting anything, it seems I'm a bit lost." She was a mare, well...maybe not a pony, but she did walk on all fours. The lady that was currently in his room bore a large golden crest around her waist. Her tail and ‘mane’ were not made of hair but appeared to be more a part of her body. Instead of flat hooves they were pointed, her neck was fairly long, just like his, with two pairs of extrusions to the sides, and a flap-like feature on her neck's underside. Her most alluring feature of all, however, were her green eyes... those beautiful green eyes! The fact that her pupils were green only added to her beauty. He also noticed that she was...wet, and that she held a beach ball. "Darn it! I must have made a wrong turn at that portal, I meant to go to Spear Pillar. Oh where are my manners, my name’s Arceus. What's yours?" But Solaris could not hear her, his mind and ears were focused on the gorgeous creature standing before him. The way the water dripped down from her form gave her coat a magnificent shine, her eyes sparkled as if stars were inside them, and her voice was absolutely heavenly. "Excess me, are you alright?" Wiping the drool off his face, Solaris snapped out of his trance and stammered, "I-I-I-I'm Prince Solaris! It’s nice to meet you." "Hello Solaris, it’s nice to meet you too. Actually, if it’s not much trouble, could I bother you for a towel?" "Oh, of course! Please excuse me for a second." Solaris got up from his pillow and headed in the direction of his master bathroom. "Hmmm I hope this water doesn't ruin the carpet." __________________________________________________________________________ As Solaris fetched one of his finer towels he stopped for a moment to look down. "Go down why don't you!" Hoping his little friend would deflate, Solaris left the bathroom. ___________________________________________________________________________ While Arceus was fiddling with her beach ball, Solaris emerged from the bathroom. "Here you go." "Thanks". As Arceus took the towel, Solaris could only sit there as she dried herself. The towel absorbed all the water and the light that reflected off of it went away, which in turn prevented Solaris from having a nosebleed from staring at her flank for too long. As soon as she was done drying herself, Arceus handed the towel back to him. "I thank you for your generosity Solaris, well as nice as it’s been meeting you I must go, the universe isn't gonna take care of itself." Solaris ears dropped at hearing that, he was hoping he could ask her to stay a little longer in order to get to know her, but it was clear that she was needed somewhere else. Arceus then turned around and opened a portal as she was halfway through it he heard her utter one last sentence. "See you later....handsome." Then she was gone. Solaris then sat there for several minutes still trying to process what he just heard. Then one VERY important thought came to mind. "Wait! I forget to ask her where she lives!" _____________________________________________________________________________________ Arceus reappeared in the Hall of Origins where she was greeted by her daughter Giratina. "So mom enjoy your day at the beach?" "Why yes I did thank you for asking." "So... find anyone you like yet?" Arceus tried to suppress a grin but failed. "Maybe"
