Chapter Two: Mommy?!

When I got home that day, I made sure not to tell my 'parents' about it. They would think I was goin' loony and send me to the psyche ward. So I just passed mom on the way inside, acting like I usually do. She looked like she was making candied pearlpeas. Ew."How was school today?" I thought for a second, considering if I could twist the truth.

"Pretty good. There's a new girl." Mom looked semi-interested. "Her name is... what was it?" I thought up a lie, and I thought it up quick. "Tara Strong! That was her name." Mom narrowed her eyes, then slowly walked over. I braced myself.

"You know I don't like it when you lie, Alexandrite." She slapped me, and it probably left a hand-print on my face. "Why are you lying to me?" I scoffed.

"Because you probably wouldn't believe that her name is Twilight Sparkle." Mom glared harder.

"Your step-dad will be home soon. I'll let him deal with you." I let out a tiny 'meep' and ran up to my room. "Pathetic excuse for even a half Floran. Oh, well. At least she isn't trying to eat me." I jumped on my bed and buried my face into a pillow, letting out a puny scream.

I moped in my room for a bit, then heard a vehicle pulling into the driveway. I eavesdropped on Mom and Jack's conversation. They seemed to be talking about me. I wanted to hide, but I knew that would just make him angry. I was about ready to call child protective services on him, but not quite yet. I knew that Mom would hurt me worse than Jack ever did. Suddenly, I heard footsteps. I huddled in a corner somewhere. My door opened, and Jack came inside. He walked over to me, then started talking with terrible grammar and vocabulary. "You need to stop lying. We are the aldults, so we are betterer than you." I cringed at both mistakes.

Remember what Mr. Partlo said. Correct grammar mistakes in your head. He slapped me a few times, then started dragging me by my wrist. "Ow! Stop, please!" I knew he wouldn't. He took me to the room I had nicknamed 'Hell,' and proceeded to strap me down and beat me. "What the Heck?! I lied about a girl's name! Are you people completely wacky?!" That just made him angrier. After what felt like hours, he let me go. I ran out, incredibly shaken up. Mom walked upstairs, announcing that dinner was ready. I ate my food quickly, then ran to my room again. My dreams were plagued with nightmares.
