Not so Friendly Prank

Cadance in the house

Cadance happily hummed to herself as she wrote down in her personal notebook. She glanced out the train window and watched as the outer walls of Canterlot came into view. Letting out a small yawn, she sat up and stretched her wings out.

"Never really a fan of long train rides." She sighed to herself.

Not only was the train ride a pain, she wasn't in the mood to really come here in the first place. Sure she was excited to see her aunts and Twilight again, but she was never a big fan of coming to large council meetings. Having to listen to dozens of stuck up snobs acting like they were the top of the world and giving out new law promotions for the land.

"Seems strange I have to come to these anymore, the crystal empire has separate laws and propositions than Equestria in the first place." Cadance sighed to herself.

'Well, since they never replaced my spot on the council I'm kinda stuck in that position in the first place.' Her subconscious whispered to her.

Letting out a long sigh, the young princess then felt the train skidding to a halt as it approached the station. Knowing she had to do it anyway, she stood up from her seat and turned to the table beside her, the small bag on top bringing a smile to her face.

While in fact she expected the entire council meet to be boring, she was in fact curious to see just how far this prank war that she had heard so much about was. In one of the letters, she had gotten a somewhat eccentric message from Twilight about the pigs running though the castle let loose by Discord. She couldn't help but giggle in the fact they spent five hours looking for a pig that wasn't even loose in the castle.

"Skipping a number on pigs is a pretty funny joke actually..." Cadance whispered to herself. "Although I don't think Discord was told about my high school days."

Gripping the bag in her magic, she lifted it towards herself and opened the top to look at her stash. She chuckled a the sight of all of her different tricks and spell books she had kept all this time since she had graduated. Even though she had grown up and had responsibilities, who in their right minds would give up having just a bit of fun at times?

"Aunt Tia may get mad if I do some of my jokes again..." she sighed. "Oh well, I'll just say it is repercussions in case something happens to me."

As the train doors opened up, she stared up in a mix of excitement and curiosity at the Canterlot castle. "Alright then, time to see what all these letters were for then."

As she looked forward and walked on, she had just missed the sight of a creepy little square creature running across the roof of the castle.
