//------------------------------// // One Letter For One Rainbow // Story: One Letter For One Rainbow // by marineproductions100 //------------------------------// ONE LETTER FOR ONE RAINBOW Written By: Cameron One letter can mean more than a piece of paper with writing on it. You just have to give it a second, maybe third, glance at it. Dear Rainbow Dash, It's me, Fluttershy. I've been thinking about you lately. Well...maybe more than anypony else. I've been thinking about the first time I met you and you stood up for me against those mean ol' bullies that were picking on me. It was one of the most wonderful things that ever happened to me. One of them. Another wonderful thing that happened to me is when you decided to be my friend. Honestly, I never had any friends before you. And you are the best! I've also been thinking about how well you do your job for the weather. You make the skies so beautiful, but lately...the team has been making it pour more rain than it ever has before and we have a lot of wild clouds. Its been a bit...depressing. I looked at a cloud today and thought I saw you taking a nap on it, but I realized that it was somepony else that I didn't know. It was very embarrassing of me. I almost shrieked your name too. That would have been even more embarrassing. Thank goodness I flew up to the cloud first before doing that. I've been taking good care of Tank, like you've asked. He's been very good. He eats when he's supposed, he exercises on his own, and he keeps me company when I have to do a chore in the house. You'd be very proud to know that about your pet. I would praise him more, but then Angel bunny would get jealous. The Wonderbolts are going to be performing in the next couple of days. I'm gonna go attend it and see all the wonderful tricks they like to show to the many...many...many ponies. It'll be tough and make sure not to be a pushover. I still remember the lessons that Iron Will taught me. In fact, last week when somepony tried to cut me in line at Sugar Cube Corner, I tried to politely tell her to move to the back, but she didn't listen. So I showed her some of my assertiveness and she was more than willing to let me go ahead of her. I'll also write you a letter telling you how well they performed. I'm sure you already know that they are very good or in your words "awesome." But I still want to write to you. I thought about the colors that are in a rainbow and I remembered that yellow is in the rainbow. That made me think that-in a way-I will be with you wherever you go. Since your mane is a rainbow. And that made me more happy to know that I can be with my friend wherever she goes. I thought about the time where you taught me to cheer. I never told you, but I use it for all the animals whenever I take them out to give them the exercise that their little bodies need. Of course, I'll wait until I'm sure nopony is around when I do it...I don't want another embarrassing moment. Especially if its me using my voice in front of other ponies. I can't think of anything else I want to share with you...oh wait. There is one thing: I miss you, Rainbow. I miss you very much. I hope to see you soon because everything here has gone a bit bland without a rainbow whizzing by everyday. Your rainbow streak always brightens the sky, I don't care what other ponies think. You always made the days gorgeous. And you will continue to do so....wherever you're at...I love you, Dash. I always will. You were are the best thing that's ever happened to me. Sincerely, Fluttershy Fluttershy gave a heavy sigh and nodded. She finally told herself that the letter was worthy for Rainbow Dash to read. She gently folded the piece of paper and placed it inside the envelope. She licked the top and closed it. Then, she placed it down on the ground. She also placed the red rose she was holding next to the letter. Tears streamed down her face, but she smiled. Fluttershy knew that she would see her friend again, someday. But it hurt to know that it will take awhile before that can happen. Luckily for her, she was a patient pony. She also knew that when the day came, everything would be worth it. She would rejoice and cherish more memories of being together with Rainbow Dash. All she has to do is wait. Even if it means a long time. Fluttershy bent down and kissed the envelope. She then turned around and walked away from the park that she walked to. The wind picked up speed and the letter blew away, but instead of going further away, it went up. There was a gust of wind that blew the letter into the sky until it was nowhere to be seen. The sun's rays grew brighter and a rainbow formed itself in the sky. Fluttershy looked up at the rainbow in the sky and she wiped away her tears. Her smile grew bigger. She turned her head to look back at what was in the park: a tombstone. There was a tombstone with a bunch of flowers from all sorts of colors surrounding it. On the right of the tomb stood a picture of a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane smiling proudly into the camera that took her picture. There was a carving on the grave that read, "Here lies one of Equestria's heroes, Rainbow Dash. A good leader, but a great friend." Fluttershy read the words and slowly trotted away. Keeping her smile on the entire way home. THE END When a rainbow appears, a child smiles. When that child smiles, it makes the sun shine brighter. Giving the sun a compliment for its beauty.
