The Two made their way across Equestria. The land was very different from anything she could remember. It changed, a lot. The land looked like it had been All destroyed than terraformed into something different. But it was still Equestria. Or at least. That’s What the Ghost had been telling her. She still had to properly tell the Ghost of it’s new name.
“Before we make it to the tower, i could hope we could stop somewhere else. If, you don’t mind”
“Uh, sure Spike. It doesn’t looks like i’d be going anywhere else anytime soon. For i just woke up like an hour ago.” She answered inspecting the Auto-rifle that she had gotten before. She was remembering a lot of her past life by now. But not everything she remembered. Guns related to the hoof cannon had been developed soon before her death. There was a ban on the weapons saying they could only be used in defence and were often hard to get on any-ponies hooves. But now they’re everywhere.
“Spike?” The Ghost questioned as it maneuvered it’s way through the atmosphere.
“You said i could give you a name.”
“Well i guess almost every name would’ve done. It’s not like you had a choice with your name.” Spike said acknowledging it’s new name.
“Before you land, are you taking me anywhere too dangerous for me to handle? I mean like, a dungeon or something?” She asked Holstering her auto-rifle and handling her hoof cannon.
“Not dungeon dangerous. If anything gets bad, it wouldn’t be like that.” Spike said assuring her that it wouldn’t be her fate there. “You’re not dying the day you woke up.”
“Good, I Don’t think these weapons could handle creatures like that.” She replied Cocking her hoof cannon.
The two made it to their destination; A forest that looked old and dead like a bushfire swept over and it never recovered.. It looked like something she knows. But she just couldn’t remember it.
“Welcome. This is the Everfree forest. But we’re not here to just see this. We need to go inside.” Spike said as they landed on the outside of the forest.
Everfree Forest, I swear i know that place. I’m going to have a lot of these moments
“So is it someplace inside?” She asked following her Ghost as it made its way through the forest.
“Yes, i’ve only been here once, but never got to fully see it. Sometimes there would be something that stood in my way. But now, i have found you, the Guardian i belong to and we can go see it together” Spike said as he floated through the forest.
So He doesn’t have a laser or something? She thought as they journeyed further in. Every step she took in, she could feel something pulling her back. Go back, The Everfree is not a place of fun It would tell her. But a lot has changed, so her conscience wouldn’t be always right.
They came across a cave. Inspecting the cave, it looked old. Like it’s been here for ages but hasn’t been damaged at all.
“It’s right through here, you may remember it, but i doubt it.” Spike said leading her through the cave.
“This, is the Tree of Harmony. Or, That’s what it was.” Spike said Lighting up the cave around her. She looked ahead to see a tree like figure. It looked dead and gloomy.
Tree of Harmony… I… I swear i know that. She thought as Spike finished talking.
“The Tree of Harmony once held the elements of Harmony. The Elements of Harmony were the most powerful magical force to exist. The Elements kept ponies safe.” Spike said reading out all the knowledge it knew of the Elements of Harmony.
“But, it doesn’t look okay now.” Twilight asked approaching the now Inactive tree.
“Soon after the Traveller came, the Darkness got here too. The Enemy of the Traveller. With it, it brought four alien species, all of which you will see. The Fallen. The hive. The Vex and the Cabal. The Traveller assumingly didn’t know about the Tree at first, but when it did, the Darkness had already reached Equestria and gotten to it first. The Darkness Consumed the Elements of Harmony, Destroying it, the Elements and allowing the four species onto the land. There is only one spot on Equestria that is safe, for the Extra-Terrestrials have taken over most areas of Equestria, it’s moon and Equidaeus. I have decided, now, would be the great time, to get you to know this new world and you will see two others you’ve never been to before. One you never knew.”
Elements of Harmony, Why do i know that? Twilight thought, Tears Bringing up her eyes as caused by something deep in her memory.
“Is there something wrong?” Spike said to Twilight noticing the tears in her eyes.
“It’s, it’s nothing. I don’t know why, but there’s something i remember that i can’t get a hold of.” She replied letting out the last of her tears. “While it’s good, you could tell me of Equidaeus. I don’t remember that at all.”
“You wouldn’t. It’s a new planet that was colonised after your death. But we shouldn’t stay here any longer. We should leave before anything else comes.”
But, it was too late. The Fallen were already here. They made their way through the entrance, weapons ready, to take her on.
“The Fallen! They’re already here!”
“Can you get a visual on how many there are?” Twilight asked firing at the closest dreg as she weaved around avoiding as much damage as possible.
“About 2 Vandals, 4 Dregs. A small group was patrolling outside.” Spike said Interacting with her, vanishing out of combat.
Twilight immediately chucked her Vortex grenade at the group of Fallen as they made their attempt to kill her. The Grenade set off and significantly damaged 2 dregs while leaving the rest unharmed. She fired her hoof cannon at the Dreg she previously damaged killing it off before switching to the last Dreg. The Last Dreg was lucky, It managed to avoid all her shots as she emptied out her cylinder, but it was unaware that she had a second weapon as she paused to switch to her Auto-rifle. She Fired off quick short bursts to the Dreg killing it off in the process.
“I was paused for 6 seconds to switch primary weapons. How stupid are they?” she asked as she fired on the First Vandal, draining half its health before she had to reload.
“I think they’re scared of you. The vortex grenade must’ve really set them up.” Spike joked as the Vandal Managed to charge up its Fusion rifle and fire a shot at Twilight, albeit missing.
She managed to load a second magazine into the Rifle as she burst all ammunition into the Vandal killing it. As the Ammunition clicked 0, she chucked her Auto-rifle away as she charged against the Second Vandal, meleeing it and sending it forward, where she jumped on it and proceeded with a second melee, killing it and wiping out the last of the Fallen group.
“That, was a failed ambush.”
Twilight felt a surge inside her as a Notification appeared on her H.U.D saying Level up
“You should've unlocked glide. Equip it and we’ll test it outside.” Ghost said as Twilight picked up her Auto-rifle, loaded it and equipped Glide.
They made their way outside where she was taught about Glide.
“Ok, Glide is a movement ability. To use it just focus right after your jump.”
Twilight jumped up and concentrated her power into the Glide, sending her upwards and slowly to the ground.
“Good. You can do it. Just know that if you use it at the height of your jump, you won’t get the boost.”
“It’s useful, but it takes a lot of concentration. How could i fire while using it?” She asked Spike as he started leading her out of the Forest.
“You could try, but it would be very hard, that’s the biggest downside. But it will help in maneuvering.” He replied as they Made their way towards the Jumpship. He interacted with the Jumpship starting it up and warped Twilight on board.
“I hope you learned something today. Thank you for letting me see the Tree.”
Just, just don’t think the much about the tree. Twilight Thought as they made their way towards the tower.
“Yes, i did learn something. It was quite interesting.” She replied trying to think less of the tree.
“Well, look ahead, There’s The City.” Spike said as they approached a big City underneath a giant Sphere. “And that’s the Traveller.”
