The diamond dog bore down on Rarity. "We hunt for gems. But you are a better hunter. So now we hunt... for you!"
Rarity stared him down. "I think not." Without warning, her horn glowed, sending blasts of blue magic into all three dogs.
The magic flung them back. They howled as they stood back up, and they bared their teeth.
Rarity lit her horn again.
She didn't need to use it. The three dogs scrambled away, yapping to each other as they went.
"Ugh. Let's go, Spike." Rarity held her nose. "I can't stand the smell of burnt dog hair."
