Once upon a time, in the land of Equestria, there lived a king and queen. They had no children, but longed for a child. One snowy winter day, the queen sat out on her balcony knitting. She pricked her hoof and it began to bleed. Blood dripped from the queen's hoof onto the snow. "Oh I wish I had a daughter whose fur be as white as snow." yearned the queen.
Soon the queen became pregnant and nine months later, her daughter was born. She was a yellow pegasus with blue eyes and a pink mane. The king and queen decided to name their daughter Fluttershy because she liked to flutter and was very shy. Fluttershy was a very happy pony who enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Unfortunately, something terrible happened: when Fluttershy was three years old, her mother died so Fluttershy was raised by her widowed father. As Fluttershy grew older, her father decided to remarry. He got remarried to a red and yellow unicorn named Sunset Shimmer. She was very beautiful, but she was also very vain and envied other beautiful ponies.
Sunset Shimmer had a magic mirror who would answer truthfully every question she asked it. For example, she would ask the mirror: "Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all?" and the mirror would reply: "You, my queen, are the fairest of them all." This would make Sunset Shimmer feel very happy. But then one day, Sunset Shimmer asked her mirror: "Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all?" and the mirror replied: "Flutershy is a thousand times more fairer than you." Sunset Shimmer was astonished. "What? How can this be?" asked Sunset Shimmer. She was very angry to hear this fact. So Sunset Shimmer sent her huntspony to kill Fluttershy.
Meanwhile, Fluttershy was playing with her animal friends in a meadow near the castle. Just then, the huntspony walked up to Fluttershy. "May I help you?" asked Fluttershy. "The queen has ordered me to kill you." said the huntspony and he aimed his arrow at Fluttershy. Fluttershy kneeled down and folded her front hooves into prayer position. "Please don't kill me." begged Fluttershy. "I didn't do anything. Please spare my life!" The huntspony was smitten by Fluttershy's beauty so he decided to not kill Fluttershy. "Okay. I have decided to spare your life, but you must leave the castle and never return." "You have my word." said Fluttershy.
Fluttershy ran into the forest and disappeared. The huntspony killed a deer and covered his arrow with blood to show Sunset Shimmer. When he returned to the castle, he showed the bloody arrow to Sunset Shimmer. "The deed is done." said the huntspony. "Excellent." said Sunset Shimmer. She walked to her mirror and asked it: "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" and the mirror replied: "Fluttershy is the fairest of them all." This made Sunset Shimmer very angry. She confronted her huntspony and scolded him for lying to her. Then Sunset Shimmer ordered to have the huntspony executed. The guards brought the huntspony to the execution chamber and they executed him.
Meanwhile, Fluttershy had wandered deep into the Everfree Forest. She had gotten lost in the forest and was very frightened. Soon she saw a small cottage in the forest. She knocked on the door, but nobody answered. She tried the door and found that it was unlocked. "Hello. Is anypony home?" called Fluttershy, but nobody answered. She entered the house and saw that it was a mess. The sink was full of dirty dishes and there were dirty dishes and a loaf of bread on the table. "Wow! What a mess!" exclaimed Fluttershy. "The owners of this house must not have time to clean their house." So Fluttershy washed the dishes and cleaned up the house.
After cleaning the house, she cut off a small piece of the loaf of bread and ate it. "I hope they don't mind me eating a small piece of bread." she thought. Then Fluttershy went upstairs to the bedroom. There were seven beds in the bedroom each with a name carved into its headboard. Fluttershy tried out each bed until she found a comfortable one. Then she lied down and fell asleep.
What Fluttershy did not know was that the house belonged to seven dwarves who worked in the nearby mines. When the dwarves returned, they were surprised. "Someone has been cleaning our dishes and eating our bread." cried the dwarves. Next the dwarves went to their bedroom and were in for a big surprise. "Someone has been sleeping in my bed and there she is!" cried one of the dwarves. Fluttershy woke up and saw the seven dwarves staring at her. The dwarves were all red in the face and very angry, but Fluttershy was very frightened.
"GET OUT NOW! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN THIS HOUSE!" shouted the seven dwarves together. They shouted so loudly that Fluttershy nearly fell out of the bed. Fluttershy jumped out of the bed, kneeled down, and folded her front hooves into prayer position. "Please have mercy upon my soul!" she begged. "I got kicked out of my home and I got lost in the woods. I did not mean to enter your house, clean your dishes, eat your bread, and sleep in your beds and I'm truly sorry." and Fluttershy began to cry. "You poor thing!" cried a dwarf. He hugged Fluttershy and wiped away her tears. "You can stay with us." said the dwarf. "Thank you very much." replied Fluttershy. Fluttershy moved into the dwarves's cabin. Every day, the dwarves would go to the mines to work while Fluttershy stayed home and did the cooking and the cleaning. The house had never looked so clean before and the dwarves were happy to have Fluttershy live with them.
Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer was planning to kill Fluttershy. "Mirror, mirror on the wall, where is Fluttershy?" "Fluttershy is living in a cottage with seven dwarves in the forest." replied the mirror and an image of Fluttershy at the dwarves's cabin appeared in the mirror. Sunset Shimmer created a bodice for Fluttershy that would strangle her to death in an instant. Then Sunset Shimmer disguised herself as an elderly beggar pony and went to the dwarves's cottage. She knocked on the door and Fluttershy answered it. The dwarves were at the mines so Fluttershy was the only one at home.
"Hello. May I hope you?" asked Fluttershy. "Hello." said Sunset Shimmer in a disguised voice. "I am a door-to-door salespony and I am selling bodices." and she showed the bodice to Fluttershy. "Would you like to buy it?" she asked. "Certainly. How much does it cost?" asked Fluttershy. "For you, only 10 dollars." said Sunset Shimmer. "I'll buy it." said Fluttershy. Fluttershy paid for the dress and Sunset Shimmer left. Then Fluttershy went upstairs to try on the bodice. As she tried it on, the bodice began to strangle her and she fainted!
Soon the dwarves returned from the mines. They heard Fluttershy screaming and calling for help from upstairs. They ran upstairs and quickly removed the bodice and burned it in the fireplace! "Thank you so much! You saved my life." said Fluttershy and she hugged the dwarves. Back at the castle, Sunset Shimmer asked her mirror "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" and the mirror replied "Fluttershy is the fairest of them all." Sunset Shimmer was very angry. Her plan to kill Fluttershy had failed. So Sunset Shimmer came up with another plan.
This time, Sunset Shimmer created a poisoned comb that would kill Fluttershy when she brushed her mane. The next day, Sunset Shimmer went to the cottage disguised as a beggar and knocked on the door. Fluttershy opened the door. "Hello again. What brings you here?" asked Fluttershy. Sunset Shimmer handed the comb to Fluttershy. "I am selling combs today." said Sunset Shimmer. "Would you like to buy one?" "Yes please. How much does it cost?" asked Fluttershy. "Five dollars." replied Sunset Shimmer. Fluttershy paid for the comb and Sunset Shimmer left.
Fluttershy went upstairs and began combing her mane. As she did, she fainted. When the dwarves returned from the mine, they went upstairs and saw Fluttershy lying on the floor with the comb in her mane. They removed the comb and burned it in the fireplace. As they did, Fluttershy opened her eyes and woke up. "Thanks for saving my life." said Fluttershy and she hugged the dwarves.
Back at the castle, Sunset Shimmer asked her mirror "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" and the mirror replied "Fluttershy is the fairest of them all." At that moment, Sunset Shimmer had a heart attack and fainted. She could not take this any longer so she decided to kill Fluttershy for sure this time. This time, Sunset Shimmer created a poisoned apple that would kill Fluttershy when she ate it.
Sunset Shimmer went to the cottage disguised as a beggar. She knocked on the door and Fluttershy opened it. "Hello again." she said. "Today, I am selling apples." said Sunset Shimmer. "Would you like to buy one?" "Of course. An apple a day does keep the doctor away." replied Fluttershy. "How much does it cost?" "Fifty cents." replied Sunset Shimmer. Fluttershy paid for the apple and took a bite out of it. When she did, she fainted. Sunset Shimmer dropped her disguise and laughed. "I finally killed her." she laughed.
When the dwarves returned from the mines, they were horrified. Fluttershy was lying on the ground unconscious. The dwarves knew that they could not save Fluttershy this time. At Fluttershy's funeral, the dwarves placed her body inside of a glass coffin and kept it in the forest because she looked so beautiful. What the dwarves and Sunset Shimmer did not know was that Fluttershy was not dead. She was in a coma that would end if a handsome pony kissed her on the lips.
One day, a tall red pony named Big Macintosh came to the forest to chop down some trees in order to gather firewood. When he saw Fluttershy's body, he was horrified. "I bestow a kiss upon this fair maiden's lips." he announced. Big Macintosh removed the coffin's lid and kissed Fluttershy on the lips. At that moment, the spell was broken! Fluttershy opened her eyes and sat up. "Who are you?" she asked. "My name is Big Macintosh." replied Big Macintosh. "I saw you in the forest and I decided to kiss you because you are so beautiful." "Thank you." replied Fluttershy. "Fluttershy, will you marry me?" asked Big Macintosh. "Of course I will." replied Fluttershy and they kissed each other on the lips.
Big Macintosh lifted up Fluttershy and he carried her to the cottage. He knocked on the door and the dwarves were happy to see Fluttershy alive and well. Big Macintosh and Fluttershy announced their engagement and the dwarves were very happy to hear that. The next day, Fluttershy and Big Macintosh were married at the castle and Fluttershy's father crowned Big Macintosh as the new prince of Equestria.
At the wedding, Sunset Shimmer entered the room carrying a knife. "You escaped my trap!" she shouted. "Now it is time to DIE!" Just then, Fluttershy's father ran over to Sunset Shimmer carrying a box. Sunset Shimmer opened it up and saw a pair of ruby red slippers inside of it. Sunset Shimmer was very happy to have the slippers and tried them on immediately. She was so happy that she forgot about killing Fluttershy and decided to have a good time at the wedding instead.
At the wedding, there was a lot of dancing. As Sunset Shimmer danced, her feet began to burn. She tried to remove the slippers, but she could not. They were stuck onto her hooves! Sunset Shimmer tried to stop dancing, but she could not. Sunset Shimmer screamed and fainted. She was dead. The heat from the slippers had killed her.
Big Macintosh became the new prince of Equestria. He and Fluttershy ruled Equestria peacefully and they made sure that no evil queens returned to their castle. Everybody lived happily ever after.
