//------------------------------// // Weird Memories // Story: The Past of a Shy Mare // by Songbrony //------------------------------// Of course I liked it. I loved it! The Wonderbolts are the most elite flying group in Equestria, and you got me tickets to actually meet them!" Rainbow Dash said. "Fluttershy, it's the best gift I've ever been given." She gave me a tight hug, and I felt my heart race. She pulled out of the hug and gave me a warm kiss. My eyes shot wide in shock, but I quickly returned the kiss with the same intensity. We were in what looked like a hotel room. We kissed and our wings rubbed against the other's. I woke up, feeling my heart racing. I sat up and felt a pounding in my head. What's with the multiple nightmares and dreams? I thought. I rubbed my eyes and heard the door open up. "Hey, Fluttershy. Sleep well?" Rainbow Dash asked me. "Oh, hi Rainbow. I guess I slept well. I had a weird dream though." I said. I had multiple dreams, but only a few were a little strange. "About what?" she said, sitting next to me. "My awesomeness had better be in there." I chuckled a little. "You were. Along with somepony who said she was my mom." I said, remembering a forest where I had to tackle somepony. "It was really weird. And kind of cool that I was able to stand up for myself and you." "That's awesome! Of course, nopony could be as brave as me." she bragged. "Yeah. I know." I said quietly. "There was another one though..." I said as I rubbed my hooves together nervously. "Well...you and me were in a hotel. Your brother had left to get a drink and we were alone..." I started, feeling my face grow red. I wasn't sure how I was going to tell her about it. It was an odd thing to say. "And well...we, uh...." "What? We didn't like, you know, kiss right?" she said. "Oh.. Uh, no." I said, hiding my face a little. I'm stupid for trying to tell her something like that. I thought to myself. "Are you sure?" she asked, a little forcefully. "Yeah...I'm certain." I said, surprised by how she asked. "Oh...Well what happened?" she asked. "Um... I don't remember anymore." I told her. How could I tell her what had happened in the dream? She was my closest friend, and I didn't want to lose that. "Oh...well...okay." she said. "What about you?" I asked her. "Oh, just about joining the Wonderbolts, saving the day and being awesome." she told me in her usual prideful manner. "Anything else?" "Well, I had a nightmare where we were at your house. We were playing board games and your mom came in shouting and screaming." she said. "Really? I had the same dream too." I said surprised. "No kidding huh?" she said. I rubbed my head. I felt like I was forgetting something. All these dreams I was having seemed so familiar. "It's weird. These dreams seem so familiar. Almost as if they were memories." I said. My left temple began to pound and I placed my hoof to it. "Weird right?" "Uh, yeah. Totally." she said. I felt the suns rays peak over the window as the sun rose. "We better get you home. I'm sure Angel is worried about you." Rainbow said. "Oh no! I forgot to feed him yesterday!" I said, worriedly. "Well let's get going!" she said and we flew out the window. I knew that something was going on with these dreams, but I wasn't sure what it was. They seemed to familiar. We got to the cottage in just a few minutes and I burst into the door looking for Angel. He was laying on the floor with a flower held between his paws. "Angel!" I said as I picked him up. I took a carrot from the cabinet and gave it to him. He quickly scarfed it down and gave a relieved sigh. "I'm so sorry! I'll never let that happen again." I said. I was worried about him. He eats a lot, unless he's in a really bad mood, and going a whole day without eating must have been torture for him. "Can that rabbit be anymore over dramatic?" Rainbow asked. "Oh he must have been starving." I said, getting him another carrot. "Well looks like you'll be busy with Angel. I think I should be heading back to the office. I'm still captain of the weather team, and I don't think they're going to be too happy with me not showing up. I'll catch you later." she said. "Oh okay. See you later." I said. She flew out the door and I felt Angel poke me. "What is it?" He pointed to the date on the calendar. "Oh! That's right! I was supposed to meet Big Mac later today." I said. I forgot all about it. He wanted to show me something at the farm. "Thanks for reminding me Angel." I would miss a lot of things if it weren't for him. He was like my living portable calendar. I spent the next hour getting ready. I didn't know what it was he wanted to show me, but I wanted to look nice. When I was done I looked out the window and saw it was close to nine in the morning. "Well, I better go. Think you'll be okay Angel?" I asked him. He fell on his back and held the flower in his paws again. "Okay okay, here you go." I said, giving him another carrot. He was going to get pudgy, but I figured I owed him some for not feeding him. "Better?" I asked. He nodded and hopped over to his bed. I walked out of my house and made my way to the farm. I was still thinking about the dreams I had. They were too familiar. "Maybe I should ask Jack about it." I said to myself. "Ask me about what?" I heard him say behind me. "Ah!" I exclaimed. He just appeared behind me without warning. "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to scare you." he said. "It's okay, just give me a warning when you're behind me next time." I said. "So what did you want to ask me?" "Oh. Well...it's about some dreams I've been having." I said. "About me right?" he said. I chuckled. "No, but about something else. They're about me and Rainbow Dash. Almost as if they're memories." I said. I saw his eyes expand just ever so slightly. "Really? That's odd. What about them?" he asked. "Well, there was one when I was a kid where my mom was screaming at me. Then one where I got a bird. But the one that really sticks with me about it is one where I gave Rainbow Dash tickets to a Wonderbolt show." I said. "Well, I'm sure they're just dreams. Everypony has good and bad ones." he said. "Yes, but these seem so familiar. Almost like I've experienced them before." "Weird." he said. He was acting very odd. Normally he was a jokester unless it was a very serious matter. "Does it mean anything?" I asked. "Nah, I'm it's nothing." he said. "Hey, I gotta go. The Doctor just wanted me to check on you real quick. I've got some other things I've got to do." he said. His wrist started vibrating and he looked at it. "Like a date with a fellow named Allonso." he said with a smile. "Oh. Okay then. Have fun on your date." I said. "You too." he said with a wink. He typed in something on his vortex manipulator and disappeared. Now I know there's something going on. I thought as I walked through Ponyville. Some of the stores were still closed due to Pinkie Pie's party. I couldn't help but think back to my dreams. They were so vivid and real that I couldn't get them out of my head. I thought to Rainbow Dash and how she acted when I told her about them. There were times when she seemed apprehensive to find out about what happened, but then when I said no to us kissing, she seemed a little let down. Did she want us to kiss? I thought. I bumped into the farm's fence and it snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked around and saw Big Mac pulling a cart out of the barn. I walked through the gate and headed towards him. "Hello." I said with a smile. He looked at me and gave me a smile as well. "You said you wanted to show me something?" I asked. "Eeyup." he said and walked to a bench by the apple trees. I followed him and saw that there was a paper with a pencil by it with some words. "What is it? A poem?" "Nope." "Is it a song?" I asked. "Eeyup." he said. He placed the cart down next to him and grabbed the paper. He looked nervous as he cleared his throat. "Trot outside and you see the sunshine, something's in the air today. Sky is clear and you're feeling so fine, everything's gonna be a-okay. If you listen carefully, 'round every corner there's a rhythm playing. Then it happens suddenly, the music takes you over and you'll find you've got the music. Got the music in you. Find you've got the music, got the music in you. Got the music, got the music in you!" he finished. "Oh my gosh! Big Mac that was incredible! I didn't know you could sing." I said astounded. "Hehe, eeyup." he said. "It's amazing. What did you write it for?" I asked. "I just wrote it. I've kinda wanted to get some ponies together to do this, but I don't know anypony who would want to. I was kind of hoping maybe you would want to help me find ponies for it? Maybe even join?" he asked me. "Oh! I'm sorry Big Mac, but I don't think I could go out on stage and sing in front of others. I could never do that." I said. "I'm sorry." "It's okay. I just figured I should ask you since you're the only one I really talk to." he said. "Well...maybe we can talk more about who should join over dinner?" I asked. "Eeyup." he said with a smile. "Okay. How about tomorrow? 6 o'clock?" "Sounds good. I'll see you there. I've got to finish some more chores around here, but I'm glad you came by and listened to the song." he said. "You're welcome." I said smiling. "I'll see you tomorrow." I walked back to Ponyville, smiling about what I had planned for the next day.
