After reviving the Mayor of Boom Town, Celestia and Luna summoned the rest of the Skylanders, Variants and EQGs through the Boom Town Portal. After Hugo explained how the new Portal system works, Celestia and Luna sent Camo and Fluttershy with Flynn to speak with the Fairies about Count Moneybone, although Grim Creeper is still fuming with vengeance. As they arrived at the Ancient Woods, Camo seemed to notice something,
"The Woods....they are....dying."
Fluttershy noticed, "I can see and sense it as well." The Dragon turned to Flynn, "There is something strange about the pollution in these woods, something is....off."
Flynn looked, "Well if you put it that way, it was more brighter than usual." Fluttershy asked, "How bright?"
Flynn replied, "Like it was a sunny day, my Pegasus friend, like it was a sunny day." Camo saw a landing spot, "Set us down on that platform, we'll continue on foot."
Flynn saluted, "Righty-O, Camo." He set the ship down as Fluttershy and Camo continued on foot/hoof to where they should investigate. Camo began to sense something at in his horns as he realized,
"The Elders!" Fluttershy asked, "What?" The Dragon repeated, "The Tree Elders. They are the living trees of the woods. They are still alive, if we can find them, we can find out what happened to the fairies."
Fluttershy asked, "Do you know where they are?" Camo searched through his senses and nodded, "They are deep inside the woods. I....remember where they are, they can tell us what happened."
Camo and Fluttershy encountered the robots that attacked Boom Town and started to fight their way towards the Tree Elders. Camo began to sniff towards a recently opened doorway as he closed his eyes. He opened them again as they started to glow green as he said,
"They are near, I can sense it." They went into the doorway and walked up to a stump, and there in front of them stood three very large living trees. The middle one looked at Camo and smiled,
"Welcome Camo, it has been a very long since you've stepped foot in the Ancient Woods."
Camo nodded, "I know, My Elders. But my friend and I are here to investigate the pollution in the woods."
The Elder looked at Fluttershy, "You've grown intimate with your friend, Camo. So you two came here....in our Darkest Hour."
Fluttershy asked, "Darkest Hour?" The Elder nodded, "The Woods are dying, being drained of magic by some unknown source. The Fairies, who were once our caretakers, have all disappeared." He paused for a moment and said,
"Camo, Fluttershy, if we're to have any hope for survival, you must seek out the Fairies. They are likely captives of these mechanical monstrosities that plague our woods."
Camo nodded, "We'll free them so they can restore life to the forest." Fluttershy stood by his side, "We...should return to Boom Town and give Hugo the news." They said good bye to the Elders as they are transported back to the Dread-Yacht through Celestia and Luna's Portal Mastery.
After returning to Boom Town, Flynn tells the Skylanders that he remembers one Fairy that could help....of course he has to mispronounce her name, "Perplexamy, I think her name is. Strange girl-good with directions though. Why don't we ask her for help?"
Hugo corrected, "You mean Persephone?" He realized, "Wow Flynn, that's actually a good idea!"
Flynn spoke, "All my ideas are good, Hugo. Now set a course for...uh- Where does Persephone live again? Someone get me a map..." A Water Balloon falls on Flynn along with a Map that shows where Persephone live. He looked up and saw Legendary Spyro and Rainbow Dash laughing, Flynn knew that Legendary Spyro threw that Water Balloon as he grumbled,
"Great, pranked twice in my hometown. First by Spyro and now Legendary Spyro." His grumbling turned to excitement, "But I at least got a map, so it won't matter." Hugo spoke to the Princesses,
"Flynn will wait by the docks. You should chose which two Skylanders to send."
The Sister looked for which two to send until Celestia chose Pop Fizz while Luna chose Magna Charge who surprisingly had a chip implanted in his head as his red color turned yellow and then back again. Sprocket came up and said,
"I worked on Magna Charge a little bit until I developed a micro-chip that can boost his speed and his magnetize ability. I call it the 'Nitro Boost' But he has the ability to change from Nitro to normal on his own." She chuckled, "I even built an advanced Nitro suit for Freeze Blade and it merged with his own suit causing him to change from Nitro to normal on his own." She got back with the others as Manga Charge and Pop Fizz went to the docks.
After arriving at Toadstool Terrace, Magna Charge noticed, "There are Clockwork Robots all over the place. We have to find Persephone and find out what happened to the other Fairies."
Pop Fizz looked for a landing spot until he said, "Flynn, drop us there. We'll handle the Robots while you continue evasive maneuvers." Flynn nodded, "Righty-O, Pop Fizz!" Flynn moved over the Drop Zone while Magna Charge and Pop Fizz jumped off the ship and landed at their designated point. Magna Charge looked at their path ahead as he said,
"Persephone is down this path. We should find her and learn the location of the remaining Fairies."
Pop Fizz turned into his beast form and began rampaging the nearby Robots and anything else that stood in their way. Magna Charge used his cannon and a magnetic power to take down any robots and any other enemies, until he came across a Swap Gate. He saw the gate and yelled,
"Princesses, I need to be Magna Ranger!" At that instant, Magna Charge became Magna Ranger with the lower half of Free Ranger as he entered the Swap Zone.
He used the Spin ability to reflect projectiles and navigate safely through the zone as he came to the end while fighting a bunch of Bark Demons. After that Spin Zone, Magna Ranger became Magna Charge yet again.
They came across a Speed Zone which require Magna Charge's abilities, so he went through the gate. He sped across multiple hazards which would've been insane from start to finish, but not to Magna Charge. He came across an area with multiple hazards in the zone. He began to turn yellow as he spoke,
"NITRO POWER!!" Magna Charge turned into Nitro Magna Charge and sped across at a very fast Nitro Speed. He used his new Nitro Powers to reach the end of the challenge and get back to finding Persephone.
Pop Fizz was chosen and moved into a nearby Toadstool entrance and came across a Moneybone Key Cage and he knew one thing,
"Those lock trolls are at it again, but this time they have the keys." He cracked his fingers, "Puzzle Time!"
Pop Fizz moved the key cage around several times until the Lock Troll popped out, he spoke to it, "I'll hold that for ya." He took the key and threw the troll to the sides. He went up to the exit, unlocked the gate and pressed on towards Persephone.
Pop Fizz fought off the remaining bad guys as he came across Persephone who was trapped in a metal cage. Pop Fizz stepped forward as Magna Charge appeared beside him, the fairy noticed,
"Lucky Party! Persephone is happy to see you, Skylanders." Pop Fizz nodded, "Good to see you again, Persephone. But it looks like you're in a bit of trouble because of these robots."
Persephone replied, "Cage is of unhappy design, Pop Fizz. But with Mana Bomb, you and Magna Charge can release me from sad cage."
Magna Charge picked up a bomb and threw it at Persephone's cage. After she was free, she spoke,
"Thank you, Skylanders, for removal of unhappy cage. Here is bright and smooth, and happy to dance."
Magna Charge asked, "Where are the other fairies?" Persephone frowned, "Sister Fairies were removed from old place in unhappy cages. Most happy magic drained, but Skylanders helpful."
Pop Fizz asked, "But, where are the other fairies?"
Persephone replied, "Dance at Fountain Springs, Pop Fizz." Although they were trying to get used to Persephone's talk of dancing when it really meant that they have to battle more robots at Fountain Springs. They went back to Boom Town to inform Hugo and the others.
After returning to Boom Town, Flynn and Hugo stood with Celestia and Luna as they welcomed Persephone back, although Flynn mispronounced her name again. Persephone spoke to the sisters,
"No time for happy hellos, your highnesses. Sisters are in very bad trouble!"
Grim Creeper approached, "What's happening?" Persephone spoke, "Bad machine is draining all the color and happiness the forest! Sister fairies all caught, all put in unhappy cages."
Hugo realized, "A magic-draining machine in the forest? That sounds like just the lead we're looking for."
Grim Creeper spoke, "And its most likely that..." He went red, "He will be there at the machine as well. I'll be looking forward to pulling a Hamlet on Moneybone's Skull!"
Flynn realized, "Whoa Grim, Calm Down! If we know that he'll be there, we don't know if he has a trap there for us."
Grim asked, "Would I even care if he set a trap for us? I would care less if set a trap!"
Persephone spoke to the Princesses, "Grim Creeper has an unhappy aura to him. Something happened to make him so.....aggressive."
The reaper spoke to the fairy, "Its not about stopping Moneybone's plans."
Hugo asked, "Then what is your red ghost aura about?" Grim Creeper still retaining his red aura, "This is about Revenge."
Flynn asked surprisingly, "Wait, Revenge!? On that bag of Bones, that took my statue and Cali!?"
Celestia calmly said, "He's been this way ever since Moneybone defeated him on New Year's Eve."
Luna finished, "Anytime he hears Moneybone's name, he vows that someday, he will have his revenge."
Grim Creeper returned to his original Blue Aura, "And everytime I calm down, I keep thinking to myself that Moneybone will get what's coming to him."
Grim Creeper goes to the Fountain Springs to find the trapped fairies.
Grim Creeper encountered some fuel devices as he made his way to the source. He jumped over to an island that had a massive machine on it. Grim Creeper realized,
"This is a Fuel Machine used to power those robots. Destroying it could disrupt Moneybone's Operations."
He made his way to the Fuel Machine as he fought or evaded the Clockwork Robots while doing feeling his lust for revenge seeping through him. But he managed to hold it back long enough to reach the machine as he saw the trapped fairies in the cages draining their powers.
Persephone dropped a bomb near Grim Creeper as he grabbed it, but didn't light the fuse. He just fell to his knees as his Aura changed from Blue to Red and back again. The fairy noticed and said,
"Your unhappy vengeance is trying to consume you. But..." She used her power on Grim Creeper as he calmed down and returned to Blue. Persephone continued, "This gift will temporarily halt the unhappy urge for revenge."
Grim Creeper stood up and realized that he was calm, for now. He asked, "But, if it temporarily delays my Aura of Vengeance....how could I control it?"
Persephone replied, "Think about happy things you've done with your friends and know that they are inside your very Aura. You have to feel their heroic power....that is what leads to control and happy vengeance."
Grim Creeper lit the fuse and destroyed the fairy cage as one of the antennas exploded. Grim Creeper looked at Persephone and said,
"I'll try to control my Revenge Aura. You go get more bombs while I....think things over." Persephone left as he sat cross-legged, feeling the powers of his friends and fellow Skylanders as he tried to feel their power in his Aura in order to control his Aura of Vengeance. He was also waiting for Persephone to return with another bomb. All of a sudden, a familiar voice yelled,
"That is quite enough, Skylander!" Grim Creeper felt a thud as he still sat there with his eyes closed. Count Moneybone emerged in his Clockwork Powersuit Version 1.0, he spoke to the sitting Grim Creeper while his back was towards him, "Look at what you have done! Do you have any idea what it costs to make a device like this?"
Grim Creeper opened his eyes as he stood up and turned around, "Enough to make you bankrupt."
Moneybone sneered, "Grim Creeper, I knew you would've came here to break something of mine. You could never understand the value of my work."
Grim replied, "It was meant to serve Malefor." Moneybone laughed, "Of Course it was, but Malefor offered me something so it can be built and that is something you should find out on your own!"
Grim Creeper unsheathed his scythe, "Lets settle this....like gentlemen as you would put it." Moneybone raised his suit's arms, "I've been waiting all this time to send you flying a second time!"
Grim Creeper smiled, "Not going to happen!" Moneybone shot dozens of buzz saws at Grim Creeper as he used his skills to avoid them. After that, Moneybone used his suit's treads to approach Grim as it was basically an opening for an attack from his scythe. Moneybone shouted,
"Hold still, you pathetic Reaper!" Grim continued attacking as Moneybone tried to defend himself. Moneybone's suit was damaged so he took to the skies yelling, "This isn't over!"
He landed on the platform with the antennas as they started generating power to his suit as he said,
"Time for a Recharge!" Grim Creeper heard Princess Celestia's voice as she said, "The Tech Skylanders calculated the power percentage for his suit. Bombing a Fairy Cage could interrupt his recharging strength and weaken him."
Grim shook off the telepathic communication as Persephone dropped a bomb near him as he lit the fuse and threw it at the second cage.
"No, No, Leave those alone!" said Moneybone as another antenna exploded, "Now you've done it, Grim Creeper!"
Grim Creeper saw as Moneybone summoned trolls and robots as he said, "Protect me, you fools!!" His minions were easy for Grim as he stood before Moneybone saying,
"You're servants are useless, Count Loserbone." Moneybone corrected, "Its Moneybone!"
As the Count jumped off the platform, He heard Drobot's voice saying, "Powersuit charged to 60%."
Moneybone fired rockets at Grim Creeper as he dodged as much as he can until the last one missed him. Moneybone tried to use his steam punch to deal with the reaper at close range, but he was far too fast to be punched. Grim Creeper charged at Moneybone, jumped onto his suit as he slashed his scythe at the chest only for a couple of times before jumping off, Moneybone looked at him,
"You slashed my suit!"
Grim smiled, "Guess you won't be going on that date."
Moneybone smiled, "But that's where you're wrong. I have my own Undead Bride as a parting gift from some town with a mouthy pilot."
Grim Creeper nodded, "I know what you did at Boom Town. My friend wants his statue back as well as Cali."
Moneybone said in shock, "You...of all Undead want to steal my gifts from that town and have my Bride for yourself?"
Grim walked around, "It's not stealing, its getting back what was stolen. And I don't want Cali for myself, I intend to change her back to her living self. And as for you...Your Time will be Up!"
Moneybone pointed his Buzz saw arms at Grim Creeper saying, "No one undead takes things that are mine, not even a Skylander nincompoop like yourself." But before he could fire, he realized as his suit beeped,
"Out of power already!?" He went back to the platform as the fairy cages appeared from the machine. Grim Creeper bombed a fairy cage, courtesy of the bomb dropped by Persephone.
"Stop! Stop that!" said an irritated Moneybone. The third antenna exploded as he growled, summoning his once-again useless minions only for Grim Creeper to cut them down.
Once Moneybone saw that his minions were defeated, he said, "Useless, I'll do it myself!"
Grim Creeper heard Drobot's voice again, "Powersuit charged to 40%."
Moneybone landed back to the battle-zone as Grim Creeper went to Ghost Form and connected to Moneybone several times before having his armor return to him. Moneybone screamed,
"Ouch! You will pay for this, Grim Creeper!"
Grim replied, "Try me." So, Grim Creeper dodged Moneybone's buzz saw attacks as he continued to do damage at the robotic suit. Grim used his style of battle with many moves to do with his scythe to get an edge in battle. He even summoned at Ghost using his spectral Aura that does damage continuously at Count Moneybone. He soon realized that Moneybone's suit was out of power as the Count yelled,
"Curse these cheap Power Crystals!" Moneybone attempted to use the last antenna until it exploded causing it to electrocute him as he yelled,
"This Useless Machine!!" He called to his minions, "Destroy Grim Creeper, you..." He paused when he saw the reaper fall to his knees. He thought,
"I've.....I've weakened him?!" He smiled as he jumped off the platform and landed near Grim Creeper, he knocked Grim's scythe away as he said,
"Finally, you've been fighting so much, you have finally weakened yourself. Oh, how joyous can this be."
Grim Creeper spoke, "Not....as joyous as you expected." Moneybone spoke, "Just hold still and let me finish you."
Grim Creeper clutched his head as his Blue Aura extinguished and Moneybone asked, "What's this?"
Grim Creeper's Aura of Vengeance emerged as his scythe slipped back in his hand saying, "You have underestimated me!"
Moneybone was angry, "Oh yeah, well lets see what you can do!" Moneybone attack with a Buzz Saw Barrage, Rocket Barrage, but none manage to hit Grim Creeper as he moved too fast for him to shoot. Moneybone shouted,
"Hold still!" But Grim Creeper jumped on the back of Moneybone's suit as he slashed the suit's missile launchers, disabling them. Moneybone realized,
"My Rocket Launchers! You Pesky Skylander, you will pay in pain for that!" Grim Creeper jumped off as Moneybone did a spin attack while laughing maniacally. After landing a final blow, the suit was basically destroying itself as Moneybone said,
"No! You've won this round. But I'll be back, Grim Creeper!" The upper half of the suit detached and the arms acted as thrusters as he said,
"You haven't seen the last of...." He was interrupted by the lower half exploding. Grim Creeper regained his Blue Aura as he began fighting his own vengeance. But as he saw Moneybone flee, Grim simply shrugged,
"What a coward."
