Celestia had just finished raising the sun and was about to head back into the throne room when one of her guards arrives and tells her that there's a lot of shouting coming from the medical wing of the castle. She thinks about it for a moment, but smiles when she realizes who it is.
"It sounds like my special guest is awake, I better go see how he's doing." She excuses her guard as her horn lights up as she disappears in a flash of light, but then appears in front of a numbered door and opens it to see the Yusuke Urameshi alive and well, wearing only a pair of pajama bottoms while jumping up and down on his bed, while a unicorn stallion in a doctors coat and a unicorn mare in a white nurses outfit try to get him to calm down.
"Looks like someone is happy to be awake." She smiles as Yusuke stops jumping and looks at her for a moment, but then smiles at her.
"You bet your sweet ass I am!" he exclaims loudly as Celestia giggles with a blush.
"Sir! I know you've just recovered from being dead, but please show some respect to Princess Celestia." The Doctor replies as Yusuke hops down from the bed.
"It's quite all right Dr. Kill-patient, I'm sure anybody would be excited to get a second chance at life." She watches on as both the nurse and doctor examine Yusuke for any inconsistencies. "Is everything all right with Urameshi's check up?"
"Everything checks out fine...except for one thing." The doctor scratches his head as both Celestia and Yusuke look at him in concern.
"Don't leave me hanging Doc, what's wrong?" Yusuke felt a bit nervous wondering if the collision with the car back on human world screwed something up.
"While scanning his body with my magic, I've picked up a strange build up of energy, at first I thought it was magic, but that's not the case here. It's something different." He went on saying as Celestia thought about it for a moment.
"Spirit energy." Celestia said as everyone looks over at her.
"Spirit what?" Yusuke scratches his head in confusion.
"Spirit energy, Koenma told me that once you had woken up back in your body, your spirit energy would be awakened, that's what Dr. Kill-patient is picking up."
"That's good and all, but what exactly is spirit energy?" The teen then gets ups and stretches his body as Celestia steps into the room and sits on the side of his bed, excusing both the doctor and nurse to leave.
"From my talks with Koenma, all humans posses spiritual energy, and can be quite a force to be reckoned with if the human in question wields it properly."
"Interesting...wait a minute, if every human has it then why haven't I seen or heard anything about it?"
"Because not many humans know about spirit energy, plus the human needs to be spiritually aware in order to use it to its full potential. You remember Shinobu back at Koenma's palace?" She asked as Yusuke started looking for his clothes.
"Tall guy? Wearing all black? Slicked back black hair?" He asked as Celestia nod's. "Yeah, I do...say do you know what happened to my clothes? I can't find them anywhere." He leans up against a nearby dresser while crossing his arms.
"They're in the bathroom, they've been cleaned and repaired so they're good as new. Anyway's Shinobu is a unique case when it comes to spirit energy, when he was born his spirit awareness was already awakened, which is both a good and bad thing."
"How so? You'd think being born with power be a good thing."
"It can, but it can also be a bad thing, you see Shinobu was so spiritually strong, that his spirit had attracted demons that escaped into the human world, he would've most likely been devoured, however he discovered that he also had the ability to destroy demons as well. Having said that I can't imagine how scared he must of been, wondering why he was being chased by demons at such a young age." Yusuke couldn't help but feel sorry for the spirit detective, having to constantly watch his back, just then he gets a sinking feeling of dread.
"Celestia...am I going to have deal with demons hunting me down? Cause I'll tell you one thing, I will not go down without a fight." He punches his right hand into his left palm, while Celestia thinks about how to word out her answer.
"You won't have to worry about any demons coming after you for two good reasons. The first is that we have a special group of guards that are specially trained to hunt down any demons that might sneak into our world, if one does break into Equestria they'd automatically be tracked down, subdued, and locked away in Tartarus. As for the second reason...well...you're spirit is weaker and is no where near as strong as Shinobu's, so no demon would bother looking for you." She tries to hide her smirk as Yusuke had a look of annoyance on his face.
"Way to be blunt about it Tia." Yusuke replies as he steps into the bathroom and closes the bathroom door behind him.
"Please don't take too long Yusuke, we don't want to be late for breakfast." She semi yells through the door as the sound of running water starts up.
Shortly after a good shower plus putting on his clothes, both Yusuke and Celestia leave the infirmary with the teen's school bag and diploma in tow. They walk down a couple of great hallways as Yusuke looks around in wonder while Celestia explains the layout of the castle.
"And through out the castle each window depicts a major point in our lands history." Celestia states as Yusuke looks at the stained glass windows each depicting an event.
"Must make learning history a lot better than reading it in a boring old book." He looks at another stained glass window, while Celestia giggles at his comment.
"Be careful Yusuke, somepony might get angry from that kind of remark." She smirks, thinking about what her prized pupil would say.
"Well if they do, I won't loose any sleep over it." He says as they continue on until they reach a set of big read doors with a pair of guards standing to the sides.
"Now Yusuke, we're about to enter the dining hall and you're very likely to meet my niece and nephew, plus the captain of the guard, his sister who is my prized pupil and her assistant. Do you think you can be on your best behavior if I introduce you to them?" Yusuke thinks about it for a moment, but then look at her with a small smile.
"As long as they show me respect, I'll show them my respect, that seems fair right?" Celestia smiles at his response as the guards open the double doors allowing both Celestia and Yusuke to enter. As they walk in he couldn't help but be amazed at the size of the dining table, it was probably a good thirty feet long with chairs on both sides.
"Princess Celestia!" A female voice calls out as both Celestia and Yusuke look to see a young female unicorn around the same age as Yusuke. She has lavender fur, midnight blue mane and tail with pink and purple highlights, and violet eyes. She's wearing a blue blouse with a violet skirt that reached the bottom of her knees. She goes up to Celestia and hugs her, following close behind was a small baby dragon with purple scales and green spikes that went from the top of his head to the tip of his tail, from Yusuke's view he looks like he's twelve years old. The young drake was wearing a grey t-shirt and denim overalls. "It's good to see you back, how was your journey yesterday?" The lavender mare asked.
"It was quiet eventful Twilight, as a matter of fact I brought a special guest from my trip." She looks to her left as Yusuke steps up to Twilight and the little dragon causing their eyes to widen in surprise. "It's okay, you can introduce yourselves to each other." Yusuke glances at Celestia for a momment, then looks back at unicorn and dragon.
"Hi, my name is Yusuke Urameshi. " He sticks out his hand for a handshake, but for some reason the unicorn continues to just stare at him to a point where it starts to get on Urameshi's nerves. "Yeesh...don't be so eager to introduce yourself." His quip was able to snap the unicorn mare out of it, making her chuckle nervously.
"Heh, heh...sorry about that, my name is Twilight Sparkle, it's nice to meet you Mr. Urameshi." She shakes his hand, which makes Yusuke smile.
"Nice to meet you Twilight, and please just call me Yusuke." He said as they let go of each others hands, he then turns his attention to the young dragon and kneels down till they were about the same height. "And what's your name little guy?"
"My names Spike, it's nice to meet you Yus...uh...Yus...uh" Spike stumbles a bit at trying to remember how to pronounce Yusuke's name.
"It's Yusuke, but don't worry about getting it right." He sticks out his hand as Spike smiles and shakes it.
"Good morning everybody!" A female voice calls out causing Yusuke to stand up straight as both him and the others look toward the newcomer. It belonged to a female alicorn with pink fur, plum purple eyes, and her mane and tail made up of light yellow, dark pink, and grape purple while wearing a canary yellow sundress and a crown. Following her was a male unicorn with white fur, sky blue eyes, and royal blue mane and tail with both midnight blue and turquoise highlights. He wore a red military jacket with a blue sash and black slacks with gold trim.
"Cadence! BBBFF!" Twilight exclaims as she approaches the pair and proceeds to hug the unicorn and the turns to the alicorn and does the strangest greeting Yusuke has ever seen.
"Sunshine! Sunshine! Ladybugs Awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" Both Twilight and the pink alicorn sang together as they did a little dance. Watching this made Yusuke want to laugh out loud, but kept himself in check only letting a small chuckle out.
"What did I just watch?" He asks no one in particular.
"That's Twilight's and Cadence's special greeting, Cadence came up with it when she would babysit Twilight when she was just a little filly." Celestia replied as the three ponies walks up to Celestia, Yusuke, and Spike.
"Good morning auntie, Spike, and...oh! Who's your friend here?" Cadence asks.
"Cadence, this is Yusuke Urameshi. I met him on my journey yesterday." Celestia the glances back at the human teen. "Yusuke, this is my niece, Princess Cadence and standing next to her is Shining Armor, my captain of the royal guard."
"It's nice to meet you both." Yusuke stuck out his hand as Cadence smiles and shakes his hand, they broke off their handshake and Yusuke then shakes hands with Shining.
"Like wise Mr. Urameshi." Shining replies after finishing shaking Yusuke's hand. "So how is it that you met Princess Celestia?"
"Well...it's a bit of a long and odd story, it all started when..." Before Yusuke could continue, a loud rumbling could be heard through out the dinning hall, causing everyone to look around.
"What the heck was that?!" Spike asks as Celestia starts to smirk as she looks at Yusuke who has an annoyed look on his face while wrapping his arms around his stomach.
"It seems that Yusuke is in need of a big breakfast." Celestia giggles as everybody looks at Yusuke.
"That was you?" Twilight asks which Yusuke nods slightly.
"It sounds like you hadn't eaten in a couple of days." Shining remarks as Yusuke thinks about it for a momment.
"Yeah, that sounds about right." Urameshi replied as he sat down on Celestia's left along with Twilight and Spike sitting closer to the sun princess, while both Cadence and Shining sat on Celestia's right.
"Before I forget, Yusuke? The cooks are special trained to meet your dietary needs so feel free to order anything you like." Celestia states as the human teen smiles as he thinks of what he wants. Just then two waiters came in and proceed to take everybody's order, then one of the waiter's come up to Yusuke.
"What would you like to order sir?" He asks as he holds a notepad in one hand and a pencil in another. Yusuke smirks as he wonders on how the ponies would react.
"Yeah, I would like to have a steak and egg breakfast. I'd like the steak medium-rare and two eggs over easy with a side of hash browns. I'd also like to have some wheat toast, buttered, a big glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee." The waiter looks at him very carefully as he jots down his order and leaves with the other waiter. Yusuke then turns his attention to everybody at the table, but was surprised that they didn't look as shocked as he was expecting, as a matter of fact Twilight looked at him with fascination than fright.
"Amazing, so you're an omnivore? Is everyone else an omnivore from where you're from?" She asks.
"Yeah, although there are individuals who are vegetarian or go to the extreme and become vegan." Yusuke said as Twilight pulls out a piece of parchment and a quill and begins to write.
"Vegan? What's a Vegan? Spike asks looking over at Yusuke.
"Well basically it's a person that doesn't eat anything that comes from an animal, which includes milk and eggs." He replied as Spike nods and sits back in his chair. "Say how come you all aren't surprised or at least shocked that I'm having meat?" He asks glancing at everyone, Cadence spoke up to answer his question.
"Believe it or not there are other beings residing in Equestria that are carnivore's, so you don't need to worry about being the only one here eating meat." Cadence said in a matter of fact tone, leaving Yusuke surprised.
"So you were going to tell us how you met Celestia on her journey?" Shining asks as Yusuke looks over at him.
"Huh? Oh yeah! You see it all happened two days ago when..." Yusuke found himself being interupted again when one of the great doors leading to the dining room was opened. Walking in was a male unicorn with white fur, blonde mane and tail, and blues eyes, while wearing an all white custom made suit.
"Sorry for being late auntie, the servants had the audacity to bring in my clothes without being properly steamed pressed." He said as he came up to the dining room table and was about to sit down next to Shining Armor until he spotted Yusuke across from his chair. "Who or what are you?" He asked eyeing Yusuke with a look of repulsiveness.
"Be nice Blueblood, this is Yusuke Urameshi, I met him on my journey yesterday. Yusuke, this is my nephew, Prince Blueblood." Both Yusuke and Blueblood look at each other carefully as Blueblood takes his seat. Just then the wait staff arrives and brings in everyone's food.
"Your steak and egg breakfast sir." A waiter said as he presents Urameshi his order which looks to be bigger than everyone else's.
"Ugh! You eat meat?! Oh how disgusting!" Blueblood exclaimed as Yusuke looked up at him in annoyance.
"If you don't like what I'm eating, then just look at your own damn plate." Urameshi snaps at the prince, both Shining, Twilight, and Spike look at him with shock while Cadence and Celestia seem to smile at how Yusuke talked back to Blueblood.
"Don't tell me what to do, you mongrel." Blueblood spat at Yusuke. Celestia was about to say something, but stopped when she noticed Yusuke smirk at Blueblood. She grew a little worried on what he had planned until he saw him cutting into his steak and start chewing a piece without closing his mouth. Having seen Yusuke chew on a piece of medium rare meat causes Blueblood to actually turn green and make a run for the closest restroom. After swallowing his steak piece he was expecting to be chewed out by Celestia, but instead heard both her and Cadence laughing.
"That was by far the most funniest thing I've ever seen." Celestia says as she calms down a bit while wipping a tear from her eye.
"You mean you're not mad at me?" Urameshi asks in surprise.
"Of course not, believe it or not there are times that Blueblood gets on my nerves as well, and before you ask Blueblood isn't a blood relative." She replied as she starts eating her breakfast, while Yusuke goes back to eating his. About forty minutes later everyone had finished eating as the wait staff re-entered the dining hall to pick up the dishes and silverware. Just as the last of the wait staff left, Blueblood returned looking a bit exhausted and dishevelled. He walks back to his seat next to Shining Armor and sits back down as he glares at Urameshi and is about to tell him off when a solar pegasus guard enters the dining hall.
"Your majesty." He announces as he approaches Celestia and bows before her.
"Steel Blade, what brings you here?"
"Your majesty, a visitor has arrived to see a Yusuke Urameshi."
"Me? Who's asking for me?" Yusuke asks as Steel Blade looks at him.
"She's claiming to have met you before sir, she says her name is Botan."
"Botan? I wonder what she wants." He asks himself before looking back at the guard. "You can send her in." The guard nods as he leaves the dinning hall.
"So who's Botan? Is she a friend of yours?" Twilight asks.
"I wouldn't say friend, she's just someone I met recently." He replied.
"Yusuke!" A female voice shouts as everyone turns around surprised to see not only a human, but a female human. She stands tall with blue hair done up in a pony tail with long bangs, light plum purple colored eyes, and light peach skin. She wears a pink kimono with a white obi sash with white socks and sandals on her feet. "It's so good to see you again, I'm trusting that you're staying out of trouble?" She asks as she walks up to Urameshi.
"Yeah...of course I am..." He says trailing off as he takes a quick glance at Blueblood then back at Botan. "Anyways let me introduce you to everyone. That's Princess Cadence, next to her is Shining Armor and next to him is Prince Blueballs...I mean Prince Blueblood. At the end of the table is Princess Celestia, and that's her star pupil, Twilight Sparkle, and the little guy here is Twilight's assistant, Spike." Botan couldn't help but smile at Spike as she kneeled down to look at him at eye level.
"Awww...aren't you the cutest little dragon ever." She coo'd as she reaches to gently pinch his blushing cheek, causing him to chuckle in an embarrassed tone. She eventually lets go and stands straight up and proceeds to bow to Celestia. "You're highness, it's always a pleasure seeing you again."
"Likewise Botan." She replies with a smile
"You both know each other?" Twilight asks as she glances back and fourth a few time between Celestia and Botan.
"Yes we do, we've met each other a very long time ago and occasionally see each other on special arrangements." Botan says as she looks at Yusuke. "So how does it feel to be back amongst the living Yusuke?" She asks as everyone except Celestia raises an eyebrow.
"Great, now that don't have to be a ghost anymore." Yusuke's remark made everyone except for the sun princess very confused.
"You were a ghost? How could you be ghost? You'd have to be dead to be ghost." Spike says with a shocked tone.
"Spike, there's no such thing as ghosts, plus Yusuke is sitting right here. He's not dead, and it'd be impossible to bring the dead back to life." Twilight states in a matter of fact tone.
"Yusuke, have you told everyone how you arrived here?" Botan eyes Urameshi carefully as he looks back at her.
"I've been trying to, but kept getting interrupted every time." He sighs as he looks at everyone with a serious look on his face. "About two days ago back in my world...I was officially declared dead."
