//------------------------------// // Chapter 12: More Pokemon, and a surprise visit // Story: The Trainer of Friendship // by darkmage1997 //------------------------------// Continuing the tour of the ranch, Will introduced all of his mountain dwelling Pokemon, including the three Regis, Charizard, some more rock pokemon like Gigalith, Tyranitar, and Golem, and more steel types like Aggron and Skarmory, and even his most brutal Pokemon, Hydreigon, "So, that's the mountain Pokemon habitat, so where would you all like to go next, the pond, the ocean, the grasslands, or the forest habitats?" Will asked the group. "Can we go to the pond?" a small, white colt with brown spots asked. "Sure, if you're all up to it?" Will asked the group, who all nodded in agreement, "Alright everyone, walk this way please," Will said to the group, leading them down a path that lead to the pond. "So, why do you have multiple habitats for these 'Pokemon' creatures?" a brown stallion with a dark brown mane and tail asked. "It to help with their specific needs, for instance, all the mountain Pokemon we just saw need to be in rocky terrain, so that they can stay happy, and healthy," Will explained, as the group continued to the pond area. After a little bit of walking, they finally made it, "Well, here we are, the pond, made especially for freshwater Pokemon!" Will said, presenting the pond habitat, which had his Crawdaunt, Feraligatr, Swampert, and other water Pokemon. "HEY GUYS! COME OVER HERE AND MEET OUR GUESTS!" Will called to his freshwater Pokemon, who all made their way to their trainer, with Crawdaunt tackling his trainer, "Oof, really Crawdaunt?" Willa asked his rouge Pokemon. "Sorry boss, force of habit," Crawdaunt said, chuckling nervously, helping his master back on his feet. "Right," Will said with a roll of his eyes, "Anyway, fellas, these are the ponies that we'll be living with now," Will said, introducing his friends, and their friends and family, "Everyone, these are the Pokemon that reside in the pond habitat, where the water is nice and clean," Will said, introducing his Pokemon to the ponies. "So, these are all water types?" Twilight asked, pulling out the Pokedex she received, and pointed it at Crawdaunt. "Crawdaunt, the Rouge Pokemon, and the evolved form of Corphish. Because of its brutish nature, most lakes where they are found are uninhabited" the Pokedex said, giving information on Crawdaunt. "A rouge Pokemon? Well, what of this one?" Rarity asked, as she pointed her Pokedex at Swampert. "Swampert, the Mud Fish Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Mudkip. Swampert moves faster through the mud than in water, and has the power to crush boulders," the Pokedex said, giving information on the large blue Pokemon. "But what about that other large one?" Pinkie Pie asked, pulling out her Pokedex, and pointing it at Feraligatr. "Feraligatr, the big jaw Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Totodile. It is hard for it to support its weight out of water, so it sometimes gets down on all fours. But it moves fast. the Pokedex said. "Oh, its that Vaporeon Pokemon from the party!" Fluttershy said, as she pointed her Pokedex at the water Pokemon. Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokemon, and an evolved form of Eevee. It prefers beautiful shores. With cells similar to water molecules, it can melt in water. When Vaporeon's fins begin to vibrate, its a sign that rain will come in a few hours, the Pokedex said, giving information on Vaporeon. "Whoa, who knew there would be a Pokemon that can predict rainfall?" Conner asked incredulously. "Yep, and there's even a Pokemon that changes form based on weather, called Castform," Will said. "Castform eh?" Rainbow Dash asked, pulling out her Pokedex, to look up Castform. Castform, the Weather Pokemon, This Pokemon can change its cells, taking different forms based on the temperature and humidity," the Pokedex said, showing Castform as its normal form and the other forms it can take on. Flying towards Will, Rainbow Dash showed him the Pokedex, "What form is that one?" she asked, pointing at one of the forms of Castform. "That's Castform in its Snowy weather form," Will replied, which Rainbow nodded in understanding. Looking into the lake, a small brown earth colt could faintly see some figures, "Hey Will, what're all those?" he asked, pointing at the serpentine silhouettes. "One of them is one of my Gyarados, another must be Milotic," Will replied. "Gyarados?" Twilight asked, looking up the Pokemon that Will had just mentioned. "Milotic?" Fluttershy asked, looking up the other Pokemon. "Gyarados, the atrocious Pokemon, and the evolved form of Magikarp. When Gyarados starts to rage, it doesn't stop until everything in its path is destroyed," Twilights Pokedex said. "Milotic, the Tender Pokemon, and the evolved form of Feebas, said to be the most beautiful Pokemon in the world. It also only comes out of its lake habitat to soothe any hostility it senses," Fluttershy's Pokedex said. "That Gyarados sounds like a threat, if what Princess Twilights machine said is true," one stallion said. "Yeah, it would, but the Gyarados I tamed are docile, and don't really like fighting," Will reassured the stallion. "But this Milotic looks magnificent!" Toby commented, as Fluttershy lowered her Pokedex to let her children see what the Tender Pokemon looked like. "Yeah, and all that time fishing, trying to find a Feebas was all worth it in the end," Will said. "Feebas?" Rarity asked, looking up the Pokemon Will had just mentioned. "Feebas, the Fish Pokemon, normally found in polluted waters, it is usually found at the bottom of lakebeds, all tangled up in kelp," the Pokedex said, give information on Feebas. "How can a fish like this become something so beautiful?" Rarity asked. "Well, I had to feed Feebas a ton of dry Poke'blocks or Poffins in order to increase its beauty stats when in contests. Another way is to trade a Feebas when its holding a Prism Scale," Will replied, "And before you ask, Poke'blocks and Poffins are a type of candy that Pokemon eat, which is made from berries," he added on, which everyone nodded in understanding. "But, what's a Prism Scale?" Bolt asked. "Its a beautiful scale that triggers the evolution of Feebas when its holding it while being traded," Will replied. "So, Pokemon also evolve if you trade them?" a small brown colt asked. "Only a few, like that Golem we saw," Will replied. "What do you mean by 'trade'?" Twilight asked. "Well, sometimes trainers tend to trade Pokemon with one another. A trainer I met in the Kalos region said that trading Pokemon was like trading friendship bracelets," Will replied. "So, when you trade Pokemon, its like extending friendship to another trainer?" Josh asked, which Will nodded. "But don't you miss the Pokemon you trade away?" Fluttershy asked. "I do, but I also know that they can help their new trainer make more memories, and have more fun," Will reassured the butter yellow Pegasus, who nodded in understanding, "Ok, so where would you all like to go now?" Will asked the group. Just then a gray hoof went up. "Can we see some bird Pokemon?" the young gray colt asked. "Sure, so we're heading to the forest now, where not only bird Pokemon reside, but dark, bug, and other forest dwelling Pokemon live," Will said, leading the class towards the forest. "So, what kinds of bug Pokemon are there in the forest?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Well," Will said, pointing towards a tree, "That tree is home to my Foretress, and a colony of Pineco," he replied, as he saw the bagworm Pokemon. "Foretress and Pineco?" Toby asked. "Lets see," Twilight said as she and Fluttershy pulled out their Pokedex's. "Pineco, the Bagworm Pokemon. It doesn't move much on its own. To protect itself from predators, it adds more bark to its shell. The extra weight does not bother it whatsoever," Twilights Pokedex said. "Foretress, the bagworm Pokemon, and the evolved form of Pineco. What's one the inside of its shell is still unknown, but its protected by a steel hard shell, Fluttershy's Pokedex said. "Wow, and what about that one, on that tree over there?" Conner asked, pointing towards a tree, where a large beetle like Pokemon was sucking tree sap. "That's Heracross," Will replied, as Pinkie took out her Pokedex next. "Heracross, the single horn Pokemon, Using its prized horn, it can thrust opponents using its power," the Pokedex said, stating the entry on Heracross. "Wow, it must be strong to do that!" Pinkie commented. Will was about to say something, when one of his Gardevoir appeared, "Will we, oh, I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" she asked. "Who's this Pokemon?" Rainbow Dash asked. "This is one of my Gardevoir," Will replied, as Rarity took out her Pokedex. "Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Ralts. Using all of its psychic powers, it can create a small black hole in order to protect its trainer," the Pokedex said, but then a look of confusion crept upon Rarity's face. "The Pokedex depicts Gardevoir to be green, not blue, why is that?" the seamstress asked. "Oh, well, this Gardevoir is a shiny Pokemon, and by that, I mean an oddly colored Pokemon. Shiny Pokemon are one of the rarest of Pokemon on can encounter," Will explained, before turning back to Gardevoir, "So what's the problem?" he asked. "Its the egg storage area, its overflowing. Mewtwo and Deoxys are currently helping the girls with the problem, but it may get too out of control for us to handle," Gardevoir replied. "Ok, Cindy, would you like to show your class around while I take care of things back at the storage area?" Will asked his sister. "Sure, you go and take care of the eggs, and we'll just go and see the rest of the ranch," Cindy said with a nod, as Will and the Gardevoir went back to the main area of the ranch, "Ok, so where should we go after the forest?" Cindy asked. "How about the sea habitat?" Toby suggested. "Sure, unless anyone objects?" Cindy asked, and they all nodded to Toby's idea, "Ok, so lets finish up with the forest, and then we'll continue to the sea," she said, leading her class deeper into the forest habitat. Back with Will, "Whoa, I had no idea the situation was this bad," Will said with dread, seeing his egg storage area overflow with eggs to the point some of them had to be moved into baskets outside the building. "Yeah, and we've tried every possible option!" one of his Lopunny said in tears. "Calm down Lopunny, we'll figure something out," Deoxys said, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Right, but what to do?" another Gardevoir asked. They all pondered when Will got an idea, "I know! Maybe with their parents approval, we can give the eggs away to the school children that Cindy's with," he suggested. Looking around to each other, the Pokemon all nodded in agreement, "Great, now I'll go and find them, and tell them of the plan," he said, running off to find the group. "But what should we do about the other eggs?" Wills shiny Lopunny called. "Gather all the ones you don't we should keep, and bring them out side!" Will called back t his Pokemon, who all nodded and went to work. Back with the class, "And that's the sea dwelling Pokemon, so where to next, the snowy tundra, or the grasslands?" Cindy asked. "Why not the tundra?" Twilight suggested, which everyone nodded. "Ok, this way to the tundra," Cindy said, leading the group to the tundra. "So, will we see ice Pokemon there?" Conner asked. "Yep, and some other Pokemon that like the cold," Cindy said. As they were all walking, they saw Will coming towards them, "Oh, hey Will," Cindy said with a smile. "Hey Cindy," Will said, before looking at the group, "Ok everyone, I have a little surprise for all of you when we finish the tour," Will said, which got the kids all excited, "So, where are you all heading to now?" Will asked. "The snowy tundra to see the arctic Pokemon," Cindy replied, which Will nodded and went with the group to the icy wastelands. Back at the egg storage area, After going to work just as Will said, the Pokemon were busily putting eggs, left and right into the baskets, "There, just a few more and we can be ready for the kids," one of the Lopunny said, which everyone nodded in agreement. Just then, Deoxys took notice of a certain egg, it was blue, with little yellow beads and a red center, "What about this one?" Deoxys asked, pointing at the egg. Looking towards the egg, a Gardevoir then shook her head, "Oh no, Will said that one is not, under any circumstances to leave this facility," she said, looking at the egg in question. "He said that egg is the egg of the prince," Mewtwo said. "Well? What're we doing just standing around and collecting dust? We got a job to do!" a Lopunny said, which everyone went back to work. Back at the tundra wastelands, "And here's where all the aquatic Pokemon reside," Will said, showing the class the icy sea bed. "Aren't any of them cold?" Fluttershy asked in worry. "No, actually, they quite enjoy the cold water," Will replied, just as a sea lion Pokemon surfaced, "Look there! That's my Dewgong!" he said, pointing at the water. "Aww, its so cute!" Fluttershy said, pulling out her Pokedex. "Dewgong, the sea lion Pokemon, and the evolved form of Seel. It loves frigid seas with ice floes. It uses its long tail to change swimming direction quickly," the Pokedex said. "Oh, s-so Dewgong really does like cold water," Serenity quietly commented from behind her brother. "And if you all come over this hill right here, you'll see Empoleon keeping watch of his colony," Will motioned towards a hill. Walking over, the class was amazed at all the penguin Pokemon there were. "Whoa, so, which one is Empoleon?" Diamond Tiara asked. "That real large one right there," Will said, pointing towards where his Empoleon stood, watching over the younglings, "And the smaller ones are Piplup and Prinplup," he added on. Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight all took out their Pokedex's to look up the Pokemon. "Piplup, the Penguin Pokemon. Its thick down helps keep it warm, even when its swimming through frigid waters. If it stumbles, it doesn't hurt their pride," Applejacks Pokedex said. "Prinplup, the Penguin Pokemon, and evolved form of Piplup. Prinplup lives a solitary life. Its wings deliver wicked blows that can snap even the thickest of trees," Rarity's Pokedex said. "Empoleon, the Emperor Pokemon, and the evolved form of Prinplup. It avoids unnecessary disputes, but it will decimate anything that threatens its pride," Twilights Pokedex said. "So, all of them have a strong sense of pride?" Twilight asked. "Yep, which makes working with them difficult, but not impossible," Will said, which she nodded in understanding. "Are there any others around here?" Scootaloo asked. "Well, there's a Weavile and Sneasel colony just at the edge of the forest and tundra," Will said, as Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash pulled out their Pokedex's. "Sneasel, the sharp claw Pokemon. Its paws conceal sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends the claws and startles its enemy," Fluttershy's Pokedex said. "Weavile, the sharp claw Pokemon, and the evolved form of Sneasel, It lives in snowy regions. It carves patterns in trees with its claws as a signal to others," Rainbows Pokedex said. "So, they're both sharp claw Pokemon?" Fluttershy asked. "Yep, and the ones I have take great pride in their claws," Will replied, "But they also don't like strangers, so we should probably skip them," he advised, which everyone nodded in understanding, "Ok, so the last habitat is the grasslands, and that's where almost fifty percent of the Pokemon are at," he said, which everyone nodded, and followed him towards the grass lands. Meanwhile, on the Crystal Express, After receiving word that Will had moved his entire ranch to Ponyville, Cadence offered to take Nathan to go and see all the various Pokemon, "I take it you're excited Nathan?" Cadence asked her son, who was playing on his Nintendo DS, with Guard Armor watching, and Skyla just sucking on her hoof. Looking up to look at his mother, Nathan smiled contently, "Yes Mommy, Ah'm very excited!" "To see Wills Pokemon, or to make kissy faces with that Applebloom filly?" Shining Armor asked, which lit up Nathans face in a crimson blush. Shining Armor chuckled at the blush, only to be met with a whack on his head, "OW! What was that for?!" he asked, looking at his wife, who flicked her mane. "Well, it would be nice to see mah friends again," Nathan said, just as the conductor came in. "Next stop, Ponyville Station! Everyone off, who's getting off!" the conductor called. "That's us! Get your stuff Nathan," Cadence told her son, who nodded, and gathered his belongings, just as the train pulled into the station, "Ok, we should probably go and check in with Twilight first," Cadence added on as the group ,made their way to the castle of friendship. Meanwhile, above in the skies, Celestia and Luna were making their way to Ponyville to see Will, upon hearing word from Twilight, "I do anticipate the size of Wills ranch, and seeing him again, as well as seeing his little sister," Luna said eagerly. "As do I Lulu, and from the Pokemon we saw at the Crystal Empire, I can assume that there will be many more," Celestia said, draping her wing over her sister. "And maybe we can see that new baby Eevee that Twilight told us about," Timmy said, just as the chariots came to a stop in front of the castle of friendship, as well as a bamboozled crystal family, "Cadence! I didn't know you were coming as well," Celestia said, looking at her niece. "Yeah well, I decided to take a day off, seeing as my schedule for today was free, and me and Shining wanted to bring Nathan, Skyla, and Guard here to see Wills ranch," Cadence said, before a look of confusion crept upon her face, "And what of you? Were both your schedules free for today as well?" she asked. "Yes, and we decided that we'd bring our children as well to come and see Will," Celestia replied. "Just let us set our stuff near Twilights castle, and then we can go and see the ranch," Cadence said, as she and her family went to set their stuff down, before joining the regal sisters and their sons, making their way to Wills ranch.
