Chapter 22 - Forward to the next area!

Chopper was wielding a toy sword while riding on top of Luffy while Usopp was riding on top of Pinkie with the Kuro Kabuto in hand. They then raised the weapons at each other before putting on make shift knight helmets on.

"You cannot match the power of the Sniper Knight!" Usopp introduced himself.

"Wrong! I, Chopper Knight will show you the power of the rubber kingdom!" Chopper declared.

Luffy and Pinkie ran at each other while Usopp and Chopper aimed their weapons at each other. When they collided, they were pushed back onto the ground before laughing at what fun they were having.

"The Rubber Kingdom has won!" Chopper declared.

"No way!" Usopp replied before he winked as he said, "I demolished it."

"But anything you do would bounce off of rubber!"

"But I have…" Usopp then gave Pinkie the signal to reveal the cannon out of nowhere. "The party cannon!"

Pinkie aimed at Luffy and Chopper and pressed the button.

"Party Cannoon!"

The cannon shot balloons, confetti, and cake. Surprising the two, they ended up laughing. The rest of the team went out to check on them, only show their blank expressions to this gimmick.

"Are ya'll seriously playing around at a time like this?" Applejack questioned.

"Can I have a turn?" Rainbow asked, only to receive stares from the others. "What? This knight stuff is cool."

"Luffy, we need to talk about what we should do next." Twilight recommended. "This is no time to just play around."

"Actually, there's no need." Robin stated as she scratches Fluttershy's ear. "I've been pinpointing the locations of the rest of our crew. I can confirm Sanji and Nami would probably be the next ones we find along our travels. As for the Franky and Brook, they should be at a shore with the Sunny."

Fluttershy was soothed by the scratching by the ear. "Oh… Thank you…"

"The Sunny?" Twilight repeated. "What's that?"

"That's our ship!" Luffy answered.

"You name your ship?" Gilda questioned.

"It's not really a pirate ship unless you give it a name." Chopper stated.

"If you say so." Gilda shrugged.

"Well, it's not just about finding the rest of your friends." Twilight mentioned. "We're in a war, so we'll need to pick where we're going in order to gain the upper advantage."

"Why don't we go to Featheran?" Robin suggested. "I've heard from the griffons that's where the more threatening barracks of specially trained griffons are located. If we take over the area, we can cut off their most important branches to the war."

"Very observant!" Twilight commended. "That settles it! We'll go to Featheran!"

"Whoa, whoa, wait!" Gilda told them. "Featheran is home to the most hardcore griffons there is! I heard they have weapons like cannons, and devices called rifles! I don't know if trying to take down that place would be a good idea. There's also like a million dudes there! Maybe more!"

"That's why we're getting my friends too, right?" Luffy asked.

"It'd be a good idea to." Robin agreed. "The location to Featheran is hidden by the public, so we'll have to find that location as well."

"Featheran, Talon's Hold, and the Griffon Castle." Zoro counted. "That's three places we should go."

"We don't have to go to Talon's Hold." Rarity reminded him.

"Eh? Why not?" Zoro questioned.

"Talon's Hold?" Luffy repeated. "What's that?"

"It's a dangerous prison Luffy." Twilight answered. "It'd be a bad idea to go there."

Luffy's eyes sparkled, frightening Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Chopper, Usopp, and Gilda. "Sounds fun!"

"No, please, no!" They all pleaded.

"Did I hear fun?" Pinkie questioned as she leaned in slowly.

"I hear an adventure." Rainbow added.

"Hold on!" Twilight intervened. "Luffy, let's plan this out. We need to find your friends, and I highly doubt they're in a prison. Also, we're planning to attack Featheran, so we should save our strength for that battle as well."

"Alright. That's not so bad actually." Luffy agreed. "Yosh! Let's head out!"

Hours later into the desert front, the crew moves on through the intense heat. The ponies especially are tired. Luffy was panting in exhaustion while Chopper was being pulled with a bed of sticks by Zoro.

"I didn't think I'd have to do this again." Zoro commented.

"It's so HOT." Luffy groaned. "Can I have some more water?"

"Allow me to help on the situation." Twilight offered. Her horn lit a light blue with snow suddenly sprouting around them. The Straw Hats were impressed.

"Is that snow!?" Chopper asked as he got up and looked around.

"Whoa! How were you able to do that!?" Usopp asked.

"I forgot to tell you! Twilight can do magic with her horn thingy!" Luffy explained. He then looked over to Rarity and asked, "Hey, can you do it too?"

"Oh, I'm not as experienced in the field of magic as Twilight." Rarity declined.

"Interesting." Robin spoke. "What other spells can you do?"

"I have a good variety, but I mostly like to keep it simple. A little levitation and maybe some enchanting." Twilight replied.

"I wish I had a mystery horn." Luffy commented.

"I can keep the snow spell for a while." Twilight told everyone. "But I might get a bit tired later."

"Here Twilight." Chopper called over. "You can let Zoro pull you around. I can walk as long as you keep up the snow."

"I don't want to hold back Zoro." Twilight replied.

"We'll need you to keep this going." Zoro pointed out. "So it'll be best for you to be comfortable."

Twilight understood and went to the bed of sticks. As they ventured further, Usopp rolled up a snowball and tossed it at Pinkie. Pinkie got hit and looked back to see Usopp pointing at Rainbow.

"What?" Rainbow asked as Pinkie took out her cannon.

"Snow Cannon!"

Shooting out a large snowball, Rainbow was pushed down the sandy snow floor. She got up with a glare.

"Oh it's on!"

Rainbow then threw a stream of snowballs at Pinkie, only to miss and let it hit Chopper.

"Hey!" He yelled as he was about to join in.

"I wanna play!" Luffy shouted.

Applejack stepped in between them and scolded them. "Would ya'll focus!? We're trying to cross the desert in case you hadn't noticed, so if ya'll just calm down and save your strength, we could-"

Suddenly, a snowball struck Applejack in the face. She slowly glared at Rainbow who was just whistling to the side.

"Oh, that's it!" Applejack joins in as she throws a herd of snow to Rainbow.

As they fooled around in the snow, the others focused on getting to their destination.

"There are a few towns we can go to." Robin pointed out on the map. "Any one of these places may have Nami and Sanji there."

"We should also head onto the coastal areas." Twilight recommended. "If you're looking for your ship, it'll probably be around this area."

Gilda glanced upon the others having fun. She then picked up some snow until Pinkie went up to her face.

"I'm onto you, so don't try anything…" She said as she slowly moved away. Gilda lowers her head and gives up making the snowball.

At the Griffon Castle, the king looms over Gash. Behind him are his fellow commanders and higher ups. The king wasn't pleased, as he gives an impatient expression towards his subordinates.

"I'd like for all of you to explain how this happened." The king questioned. "16 have already infiltrated our turf, and now, you have the gall to come here and tell me that you let Gilda betray us?"

"M-My apologies sir!" Gash quickly said. "Please forgive me! I will have their heads! I swear!"

The king steps down from his throne and walks up to Gash. "I had enough of your incompetence. You are no longer worthy of that armor."

"What!? No, sire, please!"

The king raises his claw and slashes Gash by the throat. The griffon hopelessly gasps for air, but he breathes nothing. Gash tumbles before falling down and lying dead on the floor.

"I've had enough of these failures." The king stated to everyone. "First Brightly and Shade, now Gash? If any of you dare to not even give your lives to stop this group of rebels, I will see to it that you have the same fate as this unfortunate soul before us."

The griffons nodded in fear. The king then walks back to his throne to retrieve something from his table. Walking back to the commanders, he reveals a box. opening it, it contains countless vials of a peculiar liquid.

"It has come to this then." The king stated. "Each of you as well as your finest soldiers will drink this."

"Pardon me my liege." A griffon called out. "But what exactly is that?"

"A rare potion only one can obtain by climbing Death Mountain. The Warriors Elixir."
