______________________________________________________________________________

I guess today was fine, normal weather out, the streets in Canterlot were filled with ponies, and nothing eventful was happening today. I just did my regular day-to-day chores and then just read. Nothing new. I’ve been doing the same routine for longer than I can remember, it only ever changes on occasion though, usually when something bad happens but even that is rare. I guess that’s just how life works. Just going by and doing the same thing over and over until you die, with the occasional change.

Who am I kidding, that’s just not how it works, ever. Especially with me. When you are in the position I am in, normal days are the rarest days. I can hardly go through a day without something threatening the peace of Equestria, and the thing is, I have to go stop whatever it is that is messing with us. It’s my job afterall. Protector and peacekeeper. That’s what I am. But I should also include my brother in this as well, he does the same things as me anyways. Well, more the other way around, but it doesn’t really matter.

I think its time that introduce you to… well, me. I am Solar Wind, Archmage of Light. The last one, if you don’t count my brother as well. His name is Lunar Tide. He’s the exact opposite of me, only with magic though. He’s the Archmage of Shadows. I’m still kind of jealous of his title, it just sounds so much cooler than mine. Oh well, can’t have a title that sounds cool if doesn’t accurately represent me. I would explain more about me and Lunar, but that can wait ‘till later. I’m just gonna’ tell you what this part of this… story, I think. Yeah, pretty sure in the dimension you’re in right now it is story form written by an author of some sorts.

Okay, back to the point.

Today only seemed normal because of the uneventfulness which has kindov taken over the day, for the moment. It was about noon when the mailmare, my best friend, came along with a letter from none other than Celestia herself.

“Soley! Up here!” She shouted as she came into view.

“What’s up Sunbeam?” I replied as she landed next to me. Her full name was Sunbeam Kicker. And yes, she is part of the Kicker clan. She was adopted by a member after a few years of her being in the orphanage. She never told me, but I never asked. She’s skilled at combat, but decided to become a mailmare, mainly because of not really liking the whole “warrior” thing. I didn’t argue against her, already know what it feels like to have to know that you will eventually die in the battlefield. Its hard, and don’t blame her for leaving. I actually am proud that she did that, it shows that she has the bravery to go against both her family and her own race to do what she wants and not what they are making her do.

“Got a letter for you and Lunar from the Princess. Don’t open it until you get the letter to Lunar though, her orders. Thought you should know that.” She finished as she reached into her saddlebag. She pulled out a letter sealed with the royal insignia, as do all of Celestia’s letters.

“Did she say why?” I asked as I levitated it up to my face.

“No, only that you shouldn’t open it until Lunar sees it and that it is imperative to get to her as quickly as possible right after. Not sure what’s bugging her, but it has to be something important if she sent you a letter. Doesn’t she normally just used some sort of magical connection thingy to talk to you?”

“The Telekinetic Network? Yeah she usually does. Apparently it is important that she doesn’t use her magic.”

At the time, Celestia, Luna, Lunar, and I all had our own sub network within the Telekinetic Network. It was an easy system to use that required very little amounts of magic to use and was much quicker, and easier, to use than the standard letter delivery system that was used by most ponies. Letters are used even today, but can be transported much easier, but it still wasn’t as effective as the TN. However, most mages no longer use the TN due to frequent interruptions that can be caused by it and the annoyingly bad headaches you get if it is used for a long period of time. Oh yeah, this is an author’s note. They’re pretty easy to notice when it switches, mainly because I explain something in detail (usually) and that it is italicized. Back to the story now.

“Halt! Seize any weapons that you are carrying and-”

“Sorry, but I don’t exactly know what the charges are and who gave you the power to arrest me?” I cut off the guard pony that had somehow managed to sneak up on me.

“The Queen has sent us, now stand down or we will use force!”

“The Queen? What the fu-” I paused for a second, “Force? You don’t know who I am, do you?”
In response, two other guards ran up to me and pointed their spears at me.

“Okay then, if thats what you’re going to be like…” My horn started to glow and then the gravity around me was inverted. They tried to stick to the ground, but quickly lost their grip and started to flail around in mid-air. I used another spell to bring them together into a single mass before I returned the gravity to a normal state. Before they could start falling, I used a bit of a trick I have to slow down time and reposition myself so that I wouldn’t hit them into something that could cause too much damage. I ended up teleporting behind them and resumed time. As they fell in front of me, I hit them with a short, powerful blast of energy that flung them into a carrot stand that shattered on impact. I flashed to their position and looked down at them.

Yes, there is a difference between teleporting, flashing, and warping. Teleporting is for long distances and can get you there with a slight buildup of energy and concentration. Flashing is a short, instant teleportation that requires less concentration and energy. Lastly, warping is a slow but powerful teleportation that requires a lot of concentration and energy. Warping creates a field of disruption of gravity in a wave like pattern around the user. It hurts badly if your are directly in the way of the path in which the caster is traveling and you are hit by it. Each can be neutralized in many ways, but I don’t want to rant too much, so I’m just gonna’ let get back to the story.

I smirked at them.

“Ha! I can’t believe you even tried to attack me! Idiots.” As my horn glew with plower, I was interrupted by a sharp pain to me chest. I instantly knew what caused that pain and yelped. I looked down and saw one of the guards had somehow gotten their spear and stabbed me in the chest.

“You BUCKING JERK! That hurts!” I could definitely tell that he almost had a heart attack when I said that. Funny, he expected me to die from that.

So, in response to his actions, I levitated him into the air and hurled him as far as I could manage before he hit a building. I heard a few screams and some ponies rushing over to help me. A few of them went over to the guards but only checked to see if they were alive.

“Are you alright? Do you need a doctor? We should get you some medical care.” I heard some ponies say around me, but I just shook my head and started to pull out the spear from my chest. I could tell that the few who actually came over to help me where most likely visitors since they probably don’t see a pony get a spear through their chest on the streets often. Well, most residents of Canterlot actually do see a lot of weird things and this is just one of them. At least some actually cared to come and help me, unlike those stupid snobs that call themselves royalty… I hate those ba-

“Okay everyone, give him space, he’ll be fine in a minute.” I heard Sunbeam call out from somewhere in the crowd. Immediately, around half of the ponies backed up and started to walk away. A few stayed but not enough for any onlookers to take interest in.

“You alright?” She asked as she idly walked up to me.

“Well, those guards are idiots, there’s a hole in my chest, and I think I will bleed out in the next minute or so. I think everything’s under control.” I said, my horn starting to glow once more and I think I heard Sunbeam laugh a bit before I started to cast a healing spell. A green beam started to swirl around me, from the back to the front. After a few seconds, the spell recognized the hole in my chest and sped up the repair of my body immediately. Muscles and veins started to regrow and most of my blood was restored, making sure that I wouldn’t pass out from blood loss.

“I guess it is ‘under control’.” She joked after I healed myself.

“Ha, ha. Very funny. Still, I don’t get what’s up with these guards.” I said, my voice returning back to its more concerned state.
“Yeah, I know that the guard is highly advised to stray away from archmagi, but what were these guys doing? Wait, look at their eyes, they’re glowing.”
I looked down at them. They were glowing, but not they way I thought they would be.
“No, it seems that they are… misty. Its a spell.” I said, standing back up.
“I checked their memories, they were knocked out before they could see who did this to them.” A voice said from somewhere near us.
“I was the one who took the guards out, but I’m guessing your talking about when the spell was put on them.”
“I saw that as well.” The voice came again, this time from behind me.
“Come on Lunar, you don’t need to stay in their shadows.” I saw a shadow float away from one of the guards and place itself a few feet in front of me. It started to morph around and a pony started to form.

Pretty much Lunar just transforming back into himself after a few seconds.

“So what else did you get from their memories?” I asked him as he finished morphing.
“Not much, just a few things pointing to some kind of tainted magic. Not sure who could’ve got to these guards without anyone noticing, but they did.”
“An inside job?” Sunbeam asked walking up beside me.
“Could be, but I don’t recall letting any of the ancient books into public hooves.”
“Oh, by the way, Celestia sent this.” I said as I threw the paper in front of him. He caught it with his magic and brought it towards his face.
“She said that I should wait for you before we opened it.” I added. He opened the letter and pulled out a small note containing only a few sentences. I flashed behind him to read, but only read the bottom part which stated:

‘I need both of your help, come quickly, but cautiously. I don’t want any pony to be hurt by the evil that has taken over.’

Oh buck me. I thought to myself and looked over to Lunar. I could tell he was reading, but his pace quickened when he got to the bottom. I noticed that his eyes started to widen as he read the end and I could tell that he was easily on the verge of panicking.
“Lets go-Now!” He commanded. I obeyed without argument. He was my older brother after all.
“So, how come we are running? Can’t we just teleport there?” I asked as we headed to the outskirts of town.
“No, too many risks, but we should be able to get close without any of the guards noticing us.”
“Wait, there’s more?”
“Yeah, but they’re not the same guards we normally have to deal with. These ones are the new Lunar guards that I established for Luna since she didn’t have any.”
“So, what’s the difference?”
“They’re not trained as easily as the Solar Guard. They are made up of the elite forces and are insanely talented. Also, they’re most made up of pegasi.”
“Oooh, I see what you mean. I guess we’ll actually have to try to beat these guys.”
“Shutup.”
We ran for another two blocks before he grabbed onto me and engulfed me in shadows. When I could see again, we were in the middle of a dense forest.
“Thanks” I said as I got up from my sitting position. Normally, ponies teleported through Lunar’s shadows would flail around and end up face-first on the ground. I have had my fair share of face-plants over the years, but I eventually learned that if you just sat down, it would place you on the ground right-side-up.
“Sure, come on. We need to get to them quick.”
I nodded and asked, “So, we gonna’ take them out stealthily, or using blunt force?”
“Well, we need to get to the castle first before I can tell what we’re going to do, but I’m pretty sure that we can go in stealthily at first, then just charge our way through the rest of the castle.”
“Sure, but where are we?” I said looking around. I could only see trees for as far as my eyes could see.
“The Beginning.”
“Oh, why here?”
“Because of the magical flux here, remember what happened here a few years back?”
“Yeah, I do.” I said glumly.

I won’t actually explain what the Beginning is, it hurts to much to remember. All I can tell you is that it got its name because it was the beginning of a new age. An age that almost ended Equestria in a just a few seconds. The age of the Magi.

After some moments of silence, Lunar spoke up,
“Come on, we need to get to the castle.”
I nodded and we headed off towards the castle on foot, well hoof, but I guess you know what I mean.
After a few minutes we arrived at the edge of the castle’s borders.
“So, you know what we’re going to do yet?” I asked Lunar as he observed the patrols from behind a tree.
“Almost, I need a better view. One sec.” Before I could even try to respond he was gone. I could just barely make out his shadow moving stealthily on the surface of the ground. He swiftly hid in the rest of the shadows and proceeded to observe the guards’ patrol routes and their other movements.
“You done?” I said as I felt a breeze of air against my spine.
“Yeah, just take the guys out on the towers, I can get the patrols. Only non-lethal takedowns.”
“Got it.” I responded and ran over to one of the guard towers when the patrols weren’t looking. I proceeded to climb up the stairs that led to the top until I reached the guard. I waited behind him until I was sure he wouldn’t turn around and when I saw the guard on the opposite tower look away, I latched my hoof onto his muzzle and pulled him down the stairs. I held him against myself and quickly cast a slumber spell on him which knocked him out instantly.
“Good,” I whispered to myself, “time to get the next one.”
I ducked behind a short ledge at the top of the tower and looked over to the other tower. The other guard was looking curiously over at my position, trying to find the guy I just neutralized.
‘Got to do this quick.’ I thought to myself and cast a four spells in a very short amount of time. First, I shot off a shock charge straight at the other guard. I then put up a silence spell around the entire tower to soundproof it. I lastly cast a flash hiding spell that would heavily reduce the light output when I flashed over the other tower. When I got there, my shock charge had already hit him and he was on the ground fidgeting from the several amps of electricity that just struck him in the face. I walked over to his immobilized body and cast the same sleeping spell that I used on the other guard on him.
“That should do it.” I said to myself and looked down at where the patrols were supposed to be and noticed that they weren’t there.
“Hmm, thought he would actually still be fighting them- OH SH-” I was cut off when a body was flung up at the tower I was in. I caught it and set him on the ground. I noticed a small note stuck underneath his armor. It read,
‘Done.’
“Wow Lunar. Just. Wow.” I said to myself. I checked the body to see if he was dead, but found that he was unconscious. I looked over the edge of the tower and saw Lunar smiling up at me.
“What was that for?” I laughed as I flashed down to him.
“Well, I was showing you what I did.” He joined in on the laughter.
“I think I can tell that you took out those guys pretty easily.” Lunar just laughed harder and shook his head as he slumped up against the castle wall.
“That’s not all I did.”
“Wait, don’t tell me you-”
“I did.”
“So you sent a message to the other-”
“Eyup.”
“What did it say?”
“Come get us.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah!” We both burst out into laughter.
“Thanks, this is going to be sooo much fun!”
“That why I did it.” Lunar finished as we heard loud hoofsteps coming from within the castle.
“Well, thanks again.” I said and got up from where I was just sitting. “So, how many?”
“Half an army.”
“REALLY!”
“Yep.”
“Thanks! That’s awesome! Come on!” I yelled and sprinted over to the front gate. I was a few feet back from it when I looked over to Lunar, who nodded, knowing exactly what I was thinking. As the guards rounded the corner, I cast one my most powerful spells.
“Universal Manipulation!” I shouted. I raised my front two hooves into the air and then slammed them back down into the ground, causing the ground around me to crack. After a short charge up in my horn, I fired a beam into the air which exploded when it reached the cloud level. It blew outwards and could be seen from miles away due to its extreme brightness.

Universal Manipulation is an extremely powerful spell due to its effects on the user. It allows the caster to control certain points in time and space and can be used in many different scenarios to cause devastating amounts of damage. As I will show you soon, other spells can be stacked on top of this to create even more devastation to your enemies. Also, the spell requires the user to have thirty-five percent of the time vortex within them. And that would normally kill a pony. I have fifty percent and so does Lunar. When we combine them by bro-hoofing, we activate the full time vortex, but I will explain the effects of that later.

The guards froze as they watched the spectacle in the air go off. The captain, as I could tell from his uniform, snapped out of his daze and looked over to his soldiers,
“Snap out of it!” He then directed his attention towards me. “Surrender, we have you outnumbered, there is no one you can win.” I looked at him and smiled maniacally.
“Well, apparently you don’t remember who I am. Let me refresh your memory.” My horn lit up and sparks started to fly off my body as I charged up a spell.
“Stop him!” I heard the captain shout as I was charging the spell. I looked up from my crouched position and saw around twelve guards running at me, armed with spears and enchanted chainmail armour. I smirked at them and shouted,
“Shockwave!” A large ring of electricity shot out around me and struck all the guards charging me. They all instantly fell down and I cast another spell.
“Gravitational Reversal!” Suddenly, the gravity was reversed in the area around the guards and they started to float into the air.
“Dismiss!” The gravity returned to normal around them and they started to float due to the gravity suddenly changing. In the time they were floating, I jumped up into the air and charged another spell.
“Pulse!” Another large ring emerged around me, except this time it had a purple tint and flung all the guards back into the gate.
As I landed, I heard the Captain order another attack. “Fire!” I looked up to see something
I wasn’t expecting. What I was expecting was a volley of colorful bolts of magic hurtling towards me. What I saw was still a volley of projectiles, but they were all magenta. Just a big blur of magenta. I just shook it off and cast a few defensive spells.
“Reflect!” A flash of yellow appeared around me in a rectangular pattern.
“Condense!” All of the bolts turned into one big projectile hurtling towards my face. It bounced off my shield and went soaring towards the clouds.
“Redirect!” The ball of energy redirected itself straight at the other magi.
“Absorb!” As the huge ball of energy flew towards the enemies, it started to suck in any other projectiles fired near it.
“Condense!” The ball shrunk into a much smaller ball that started to gain speed. I looked over to Lunar, who was still learned up against the wall beside the gate, patiently watching the ongoing battle. I slammed my hooves into the ground again and cast another powerful spell.
“Time Stop!” As I cast the spell, the area around me stopped entirely and time itself froze. I gave Lunar a quizzical look, which he returned with a shake of his head. Which meant that I can’t kill them.

Time stop will stop time itself in the dimension the user is in. However, anyone who is linked, via time vortex, can also move with the user during the brief amount of time the spell lasts. Time Stop requires a full one-hundred percent time vortex in order to cast, which will kill anything alive. However, as you can tell, me and Lunar can combine our, allowing us to get up to one-hundred percent without it killing us. Okay, time to stop explaining again.

“Dismiss!” I shouted.

Time resumed and the small projectiles once again picked up speed and flew towards the magi.
“Freeze!” The ball of magic froze in mid-air in front of them and I started to cast Shockwave again. I cast two more spells consecutively.
“Grapel, Spread!” Several beams shot out from the ball and latched themselves onto the magic. They were then teleported evenly all around the ball.
“Cherry Stun!” The ball of magic then exploded into several smaller bolts of energy that arched into the air and exploded on impact. It caused all of the magi to fly all over the room, some taking direct hits from the Cherry Stun bomb.

The Cherry Stun is a modified version of the Cherry Bomb which is non-lethal and will stun the targets for several seconds if they are within range. They will also be sent flying across the area from the explosions.

I flashed into the middle of the group that was still being knocked back from the previous spell and cast several spells all at once.
“Tether, Pull, Flashbang, Shock-wave Pulse!” The magi all were grabbed by several different tendrils of magic and pulled into me. They were then blinded and electrocuted. When they were being pulled into me, they were pushed out farther by a burst of electricity much stronger than the rest hit them. They were repeatedly hit by the pulse of electricity as they were still being pulled in and the pulse kept on being cast.
I grinned as I prepared my final spell, “Solar Wind!” A beam shot out from my horn and into the roof of the hall. Dark storm clouds started to form and lightning struck down in several places, almost hitting the magi. The clouds gained a red-orange tint and wind started to form. After a few moments, a red-orange tornado had formed around me and the magi were being flung around in circles by it.

Solar Wind is a special spell that only I can cast. Lunar can cast his own special spell as well, but is much different compared to mine. My spell causes an artificial storm to start and anything from tornadoes to meteor strikes will occur. I can specifically chose what happens and lightning will strike down causing massive damage to anything or anyone it hits. I will explain Lunar’s later.

“Dismiss all!” I shouted and all of my spells ended, causing the magi to start to fly off in every direction. I raised my front hooves into the air again and cast another spell.
“Ground Tether!” When my hooves hit the ground, it cracked and a dozen tendrils flowed freely through the ground towards their targets. When they reached their intended target, they burst out from the ground as large rock structures and pulled the magi down from their current trajectories. They were then restrained by the rocks wrapping around their hooves and legs, and then merging into the ground so that the magi could not possibly move.
Well, that was over relatively quick, don’tcha’ think?’ I said and looked over my shoulder to see Lunar dragging the Captain's limp body over to me.
“I guess,” He mumbled through the tail in his mouth, “but there’s still more.” Just as he set down the captain, several more guards came down from somewhere above us. There was something different about them though…
“Are they Bats?” I asked Lunar as the guards closed in on our position.
“Well, Bat Ponies, but basically, yeah.” One right beside Lunar hissed at his comment and lunged at him with his sharpened fangs. When it attacked, however, Lunar was already gone.
“Well, this is gonna be sooo much fun.” I said in sly voice before I used Flashbang and jumped into the air.
“Air Burst!” A powerful burst of air flung me into the air as I cast the spell. I quickly chained it with another.
“Pounce!” My velocity instantaneously changed and I fell back down to the ground at breakneck speed. When I hit the ground, it buckled under me and caved in about a meter. Serval spires of rock protruded from the ground and hit the still blinded guards. I flashed up to the airborne ponies and used Pulse again to knock them away from me and split them up. Also, it would help Lunar finish them off.

Lunar liked to use a more assassin type fighting style, while I use a more battlemage type. His attacks do massive damage to a single target and are stealth oriented, and my attacks are more A.O.E based that do major damage in a large area. We both can use each others abilities, but we are more trained in certain areas than others, making it illogical to do so. Just wanted to point that last part out for later events.

Luckily, I was actually able to see Lunar fighting this time. It was a rare to see him fight, mainly because of his ‘I own the Shadows’ thing. And what I saw was awesome (to me at least).
Lunar started off by jumping up and grappling onto a guy who was still airborne from my attack. He then attached a Shadow Tendril onto the guard before landing on the ground again. Lunar detached the tendril from his horn and grabbed it with his hooves. He pulled on the it and the guy was sent barreling towards him. As the guard was falling, Lunar phased into a shadow on the ground, causing the guard to fall straight into it. When he fell into Lunar’s shadow, it sucked him in. Half a second later, Lunar flung him out like a cannonball at another one of the guards, who was still airborne apparently.  When they collided, Lunar ducked into his shadows again and disappeared. After that, I no longer could see what was happening due to my neck being snapped.

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, if me or Lunar die in combat, we don’t fully die. Instead, we will be immediately revived. Its a very handy spell and allows us to be a very effective team. However, if we are not both in combat at the same time, or both of us are killed at the same time, then we will die. Don’t worry though, as long as our souls are still intact, we can still revive each other using blood magic. I will get into that later.

When I was revived nanoseconds after I died, I got up and faced the murderer. I craned my neck to the side so that it cracked a few times and ended with a satisfying pop.
“Ahh, that felt good, now…,” I summoned my scythe and  before I continued, “your soul is MINE!” I thin put the sharp end of my scythe through the guy’s jaw. I then absorbed… well, his soul.

More blood magic, again, I’ll explain later, but know this, blood magic is very grim and can be gory. So, heads up to those who don’t like things like that.

When I was done with the guard, I retracted my scythe blade from the staff and he fell to the ground with a thump. A few seconds later, I shook my head and looked at the empty shell on the ground that used to be alive.
“Damnit! Again! I really need to stop doing that.” I yelled at myself.
“What?” Lunar walked up to me, apparently already done fighting.
“I killed one of them after being revived.”
“You died? When? How?”
“Snuck up on me, snapped my neck. Just a few seconds ago.”
“Well, sucks for you, but what did you do to him?”
“Took his soul.”
“Well, nothing we can do about it now. Come on, we need to get going.”
“Yeah, sure- AH!” I clutched my head in pain.
“Whoa! What’s going on?! You okay?” Lunar grabbed me before I fell down.
“One sec,” After a few moments, the pain stopped, but something was different, “I know what’s going on and who’s behind it, but you’re not going to like it.”
“Why?” I turned towards him and my face showed everything. “No, it can’t be-”
“I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry.” I could feel a tear forming in my eye.
“Nononono. NO! It can’t be her!”
“Lunar, it’s not your fault. There’s nothing we can do now but-”
“NO! We are NOT going to kill her! Not her!”
“There’s nothing else we can do!” I snapped back him. I saw shock in his face. I never did that. “But we can try to seduce her. Take her back to the Vault and see if we can figure this whole thing out, but right now we need to get moving, there’s not much else we can do if she gets to Tia.” He sat down and took a deep breath that escaped very unevenly. He was crying. And that makes me incredibly pissed.

A few things I want to point out before we move on. 1: How I know all of this information all of a sudden is because I absorbed that bat pony’s soul, and gained all of his memories and everything else about him, just stored inside my soul network. 2: I’m not pissed at Lunar, I’m pissed at everything else that’s making him cry. I hate it when someone or something makes him cry and when I get pissed, very, very bad things happen. 3: These author’s notes won’t be as prevalent later on. There’s a lot right now because a lot of new things are being introduced and you, the reader, needs to understand what’s going on. 4:Remember back when I was fighting those other, normal guards and I was shouting my spells at them. Well, that’s called Shout Casting, a now highly unused way of casting spells (and has a totally unoriginal name). I liked that way of casting because it was fun to use and allowed me to have a bit of fun while fighting.
5: This AN is really long because-

After a minute of just sitting in silence, I decided to stand up and put my hoof on Lunar’s shoulder, “Sorry for snapping at you back then, but I think we should get going now.”
He looked up at me with a grim look and stood up. I could clearly see the tears that had been streaming down his face and the awful experience he just went through. Before I knew it, he hugged me and gripped me harder as he spoke, “Thanks Solar, I’d have no idea what I’d do without you.”
I hugged him back, “No problem, and neither would I.” I could feel his grip tighten as I said those words. After what felt like an eternity in the span of thirty seconds, he let go.
“Allons-y?” I raised a brow and grinned.
“Allons-y!” He said in a much better accent than my own. He grinned back before we both teleported us into the castle corridors.

~ Now Within the Castle ~

“Volt Tackle!” I shouted as I ran straight towards a large group of guards trying to block our way to the throne room. The guards all dove out of the way as I stampeded through the hallway, however three weren’t able to flee in time. The one in the middle I simply squashed and killed and the two that dove away couldn’t get away in time before the cone of electricity hit them, causing them to be electrocuted to death. The gut I was aiming for though was at the end of the hallway, just turning the corner. He turned just as my horn pierced through his skull and the sheer force of my speed  sent him flying backwards. He crashed through the wall. My horn started to glow as I cast the summoning spell for my scythe, which resulted in the staff part of the weapon materialized in my hoof. I stood up on my two back hooves and gripped the staff with both of my fore hooves. I twirled it a few times before stopping it and cast another spell that made the blade protrude out from the bottom end facing behind me. I cast yet another spell as I raised it above my head and the spell enlarged the scythe blade and made the staff much longer. The blade was also now made of shadows, allowing me to slam it down in the middle of the guards, I had just recently passed, with a speed faster than light and an unlimited mass. Everything around the blade was hit by a dimension shattering pulse that ruptured the foundation of the castle and caused it to start crumbling apart where it was affected. The guards were blown apart, quite literally.
I pulled back the scythe and returned it back to its bright red color and smaller size. When I had my grip secured on it again, I sliced it sideways to my left, cutting a guard’s sword in half as he was swinging it. I followed through with another, stronger blow as I did a spin and sliced again. However, this time it decapitated him. In the brief moment I saw of his reinforcements, I charged up a large ball of energy through my horn. When it became the width of the hallway (which was 10 meters wide), I absorbed it back into my horn. I then aimed directly into the center of the hall and yelled, “Get Turned On!” I then shot a very thin beam of energy through the middle of the corridor. After half-a-second, a humongous beam was fired from my horn. It incinerated all the guards and everything in the hallway, even most of the hallway itself. I just ignored the charred remains of what used to be an elegant castle and sprinted towards the end and turned right. A large set of doors were magically locked a few meters in front of me, but I just used Banish to destroy the spell and I charged through the doors. When I jumped through, I saw the back of the so called ‘Nightmare Moon’ before I used Light Barrier. She cast a stun attack, however, the barrier blocked it, and as I put it down I simultaneously summoned my scythe staff, and pulled the blade out as well. Before she could react, I had my scythe through her back and was now electrocuting her. As I was about to teleport her away though, she was hit in the chest with a dagger. Lunar’s dagger. She was then tethered and grappled backwards, directly to him. I retracted my blade and let her fly towards him.

Now let’s just slow down here for a minute. This plot is going a bit fast and for those who couldn’t really catch up, this is what’s happening;
I have just snuck behind where Luna was standing when she transformed and stabbed her in the back. I then electrocuted her and was about to bring her to the Vault (which will be explained later), but Lunar hit her with one of his chain daggers that pulled her directly to him. At this point he- wait… too far. Okay back to this super speedy story.

When she landed on the floor in front of him, he restrained her by tethering her to the ground and clasping his hoof on her throat. Whatever he said, or did, made her tremble and try as hard as she could to free herself. And why-ever he just let her fly off, I may never actually know.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. What did you do? I thought we were going to get her to the Vault?” I asked anxiously as I jumped down from the shattered platform. He didn’t answer.
“Lunar?” Nothing.
“You-” I cut myself off. I knew what was going on. He just cut himself off from everyone else again. He just stood there with a blank face. Not moving. That’s when I heard the sobbing. It wasn’t Lunar, no, it was Tia.
“Celestia!” I ran past Lunar and over to where she was sitting with her head hanging down freely, crying her heart out.
“Are you alright? Did she do anything?” Her sobbing silenced for a moment.
“No, she did not. Though the damage has already been dealt.” I looked down at the ground. There is nothing we can do. Our only hope at restoring Luna is gone. Equestria will fall without her.
Shit.
