Twilight and Her Friends
"How long is he just gonna stand there?" Richter asked Applejack.
"I dunno sugarcube, but I think our friend here has a bit of a crush," Replied the orange mare.
"Who has a crush?"
Both Richter and Applejack turned around to see a purple unicorn standing behind them, "Twilight!"
"Richter, it's been so long! How are you? Where is Dusk?" Twilight said while hugging her foalhood friend.
"Lovercolt is over there," he said pointing at Dusk.
"Care to fill me in?" she asked them.
"Let me tell her," Applejack said, "Y'all weren't paying attention."
"Fluttershy, huh?" Twilight finally said once Applejack finished telling Twilight what happened.
"Eeyup," her friend replied.
Just then, a sly smile crept onto Twilight's face as she walked up to Dusk, completely oblivious that Twilight had even showed up.
"So what do you think of Fluttershy?" she asked her cousin.
In a dream-like state, he responded, "She's the most beautiful mare I have ever seen..."
Just then he recognized the voice. "TWILIGHT?!" he exclaimed, a faint red showing from under his dark coat.
"I would have never thought you would fall for one of my best friends, she replied.
"Wait, she's one of your friends?" Dusk asked, turning a deeper shade of red.
"Yes, yes she is," she replied, then decided to stop teasing her cousin about it. "So what, you're not going to give your cousin a hug?"
"Of course I will," he said, thankful for the change of topic as he hugged his cousin, "it's been so long, how have you been?"
"I've been fine actually. How about you? How are your parents doing?" asked Twilight.
"We've been fine, it's been real quiet seeing as me and Richter don't really get out much. You know how we aren't that great at making 'friends', everypony's too stuck up," He responded.
"I think you meant 'Richter and I,'" she corrected.
"Yeah, well, you were always so stuck up on grammar," Dusk replied with a chuckle. "Where have you been anyways? You weren't at the library, Spike said you were with somepony named Pinkie Pie."
"Did somepony say my name?" said a pink filly who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Woah, where did you come from? Let me guess, you're Pinkie Pie?"
"Yup, I'm Pinkie Pie! And I just came from over there!" She said pointing to a building that looked like a giant gingerpony house.
"Pinkie, this is Dusk, my cousin. Dusk, this is Pinkie," Twilight said. "Pinkie, shouldn't you be doing the thing at the place?"
"Oh, right! I almost forgot!" she said trotting off.
"Okay, see you later then Pinkie, nice to meet you," Dusk called after her.
"Sometimes ah think that filly is missing a few apples," Applejack said.
"Well, you already met three of my friends, I guess I should go introduce you to the rest of them, that is if you have time," Twilight suggested.
"Yeah, sure, I don't think we really have anyplace to be right now, what do you think Richter?" said Dusk.
"Yeah, alright," his friend said sounding a bit uninterested.
"Oh come on Richter, we might as well meet them, it'll be fun!" Dusk said energetically.
"Fine, fine," Richer responded with a small smile.
"Great, Dash is probably somewhere in Cloudsdale right now, so let's go see Rarity at Carousel Boutique," said Twilight.
"Y'all go on ahead, ah got stuff ah gotta git done 'fore t'night," Applejack said before walking towards her farm.
"Okay," everypony else responded as they started trotting towards Rarity's home and store.

"Okay, we're here," Twilight told Dusk and Richter, "try not to move anything out of place, Rarity is very organized and will get upset if you do."
"Okay, we won't, will we Richter?" Dusk asked his pegasus friend with uncertainty.
"Ugh, yeah, yeah, I'll leave her stuff alone," he said.
"Good," said Twilight as she knocked on the door.
"Oh, I'm awfully busy right now, could you come back later?" they heard a mare call from inside.
"Rarity, it's Twilight, I just wanted you to meet my cousin Dusk and our foalhood friend Richter, they came a long ways from Canterlot."
"Canterlot you say? Do come in, but I am awfully busy, so just let yourselves in," they heard Rarity call back.
Dusk had never been in a boutique before, and so he was a bit astounded by what he saw.
There were models draped with cloths and dresses of varying sizes and colors all around, the shop itself being quite large as well. In the far end he could make out the figure of a snow white unicorn with a purple mane hard at work on her latest creation. She paused, looked towards them, and walked to greet them.
"Oh, I am pleased to meet you, I am Rarity, and you must be Dusk," Rarity said.
"Uh, yeah, I'm Dusk, and this here is Richter. We live in Canterlot but I received a letter from Twi here inviting me to come to Ponyville," he replied.
"That's delightful! Oh, but I can NOT have any relatives or friends of Twilight walking around like that! Let me go find something nice for you all to wear!" she said running into one of the rooms.
"I don't like the sound of this," Richter told Dusk.
All of a sudden, Richter and Dusk were put into some very classy clothes. When they looked at each other, they cracked up.
"Whatever is wrong?" Rarity asked, "Did you not like them?"
"Oh, no no no, I liked the clothes and all Rarity. They are beautiful and all, but I have plenty of stuff like this back home, but I refuse to wear it because it's just too stuffy," Dusk said while magically removing his and Richters clothing. "Thanks for the offer though."
"Oh," Rarity said with a hint of disappointment in her voice, "That's fine of course, I understand. So tell me, what's it like to live in Canterlot?"
"Well, honestly, it's too uptight. Me and Richter can't really have much fun there because everypony says that it's 'improper' to get dirty. I think I would actually like to live here in Ponyville. Seems calm, and everypony is real nice," said Dusk.
"Are you sure it's not just because of that Fluttershy mare?" Richter said slyly, causing Dusk to turn a little red from embarrassment.
"N-no, that's not it! I-I mean, she's pretty and- wait, no! I mean, ARGH!" he yelled before laying on the floor covering his face with his hooves in embarrassment while everyone else started laughing.
"I've never seen him like this before, hahaha!" Richter laughed, "Oh come on Dusk, you know I'm just messing with ya!"
"Yeah, well, I think we should get going, it's almost time for that thing at the place," Twilight told Rarity.
"Oh, that's fine, I guess I'll see you all later," Rarity said.
"Bye!" Dusk and Richter called as they walked out the front door.
Once outside, Twilight said, "I wonder where Rainbow is?"
Just then, a rainbow-maned pegasus landed in front of them, "You called?"
"Yes actually," Twilight said, "Rainbow, I'd like you to meet my cousin Dusk, and that's our foalhood friend, Richter. Guys, this is Rainbow Dash."
"Oh, you must be the new unicorn in town, I think Fluttershy said something about you..." she said.
"M-me? W-what could she possibly have to say about me?" Dusk inquired, while turning a dark shade of red again.
"That's for me to know and you to find out hehe," she said with a smirk, "Would love to stay and chat, but I got stuff to do."
"Wait!" Richter shouted all of a sudden, "Do you think I could come along? I don't really know many pegasi in Canterlot, and I thought it would be cool to hang out, I mean if you can."
"Yeah, sure, why not? As long as you can keep up!" She said rushing away.
"Woah," he said flabbergasted, "So awesome." Then he followed after her.
"Well, your friends sure are interesting Twilight," Dusk said to his cousin.
"Yeah, some of them take some getting used to," she chuckled, "Come on, it's getting late, and I think it's about time you got your surprise."
"Lead the way," Dusk said, and followed after Twilight towards the Ponyville Library.
