Chapter 10: an old enemy escapes
It was 4:45 am in equestria as the night sky still shined, as everypony was still sound asleep. Well almost everypony.
WONDERBOLT ASSASSINS HQ
Inside the wonderbolt assassins headquarters, stood a figure as it looked at it's victims that it had slain. The figure then started to walk down the large hallway as it then made a left turn and walked down another long hallway to reach a large locked door that had a label saying 'under watch of the wonderbolt assassins'. The figure smiled as it then walked up to the key code on the door and typed in the code.
Suddenly there was a 'click' as the doors locks opened and large door opened from the sides as the figure walked inside, as they walked down the stairs they then reached the ground floor. In front of the figure was a large cell that held a single pony that had grayish blue fur, and a mane of green long tendrils and green eyes with red pupils.
The pony inside the cell looked at her visitor "hahah! Come to interrogate me in person have you?" she said "well try try as you must, I'll never tell you anything! Hahaha!". The figure then smiled as they then spoke out one word:
"mother...".
The pony behind the cell stopped her laughing as soon as she heard that word as she then looked at the figure in front of her cell, the figure then walked closer to the cell bars.
The figure then took the hood from her face "hi mom" the figure said, the other pony then ran up to the cell bars as she let her tendril like hair reach the figure and caress her face "oh sweetheart" she said "is that really you?".
The figure smiled at her "Mhm, it's me mom".
The other pony then gently placed her hoof out through the cell and touched the figures face "you really have grown up since I last saw you" the other pony said. The figure nodded at her "you haven't changed at all yourself....mane-iac".
HOSPITAL
Kain was resting in his bed as he looked out the window as the sun shined through, ever since yesterday when he encountered his father's old enemy vanish he was taken to the hospital the same night and placed under critical condition. Thankfully he healed up extremely fast, but he still had a sprained left arm and some cuts on his body and face.
As kain was staring out the window he then heard his door open.
"kain, you have some visitors" nurse redheart said.
Kain gulped when she said that. He already knew the moment that they would all walk in the door he would get mother of all backlashes, but he sighed as he had a look of determination on his face. He was going to man up and take whatever punishment he would have to endure from his parents and friends.
Kain then turned his head to nurse redheart "you can send them in" he calmly said, nurse redheart then nodded as she then brought in everyone into the room.
As soon as he turned around he was then tackled by Vergil "kain!" Vergil shouted as he hugged his cousin. "hey Vergil, it's good to see you too" kain said as Vergil stood next to his bed. "oh were all so happy to see that your not in anymore pain" raven said, "yup! Now we can make a glad your all better party for ya!" axel said in excitement.
"Will have to do that once you get out of the hospital that is sugercube" megan said. The only person that didn't say anything was Sara who was just looking at the floor.
"Sara?" kain said as he got up out of his bed and walked over to her and poked her cheek a bit, "you alright?".
As soon as he said that Sara then shot kain a glare as she then punched him in the chest as hard as she could making him fall to the ground in pain. Kain held his stomach "ugh! Mother of celestia! What was that for!?" kain yelled, Sara then picked him up by his shirt and looked him straight in the eye "that's for being stupid and not going to your parents about what happened last night!" Sara said.
Kain was about to say something but was stopped as Sara then held her arms around him "but...." she said in a low tone "I'm just happy that your alright...".
Kain then placed his hands on sara's shoulders "trust me when I say that I'm not going anywhere" he said.
Sara then looked at him with a small smile.
"I'll hold you to that" Sara said as she backed away from him, kain then took a deep breath as he walked over to his parents. Before kain could say anything he was then pulled into a hug.
Kain blinked "this was not what I was expecting" kain said, rainbow dash then rubbed his head "well were just happy that your alright" she said.
Kain nodded as his parents released him as they then gave him a glare "although were relieved that your alright" Clayton said "were not happy about your actions last night".
"I figured that" kain said.
Clayton and rainbow dash just looked at him "just next time, tell us something's up ok" they both said, kain nodded at them as max then placed his hand under his chin.
"still" max spoke, "this dosn't make a lot of sense, how could vanish come back from the dead?". This caught everyones attention, however there thoughts on his return were cut short as someone then came into the room.
"commanders!" it was stormwing.
Everyone turned there attention to him "stormwing" dillon said "what are you doing here?".
Stormwing caught his breath as he began to speak.
"I was looking all over the city for the both of you, we have an emergency situation at headquarters".
"what's going on at headquarters?" Clayton asked.
"mane-iac has escaped".
"what!" the mane twelve all shouted, stormwing nodded at them "yes. I said the same thing when I found out, but we did find out that she had help" stormwing said.
"by who?" sam asked.
Stormwing sighed as he then opened his mouth.
"some of the cameras showed that sparkplug had been the one that broke out mane-iac last night" he said.
"son of a bitch" Corey said.
Max nodded in agreement "you got that right Corey" max said "*sighs* of all the ponies in the world, why did it have to be mane-iac that had to be free no less".
This caught rainbow six's attention.
"who's mane-iac?" axel asked.
Pinkie pie then placed her hoof on axel's head "well axey, she's a mean, cruel, no good pony that likes to hurt others" pinkie said as applejack jumped in the conversation. "plus, she's been our enemy for the past 6 years".
"wait" Sara said "if mane-iac is your enemy, then how come her daughter hasn't been arrested as well? I mean, wouldn't that make sense?".
"true that would make sense to arrest sparkplug as well" twilight said "but we couldn't at the time because of how young she was", twilight sighed "to think that she was only a filly when we took her in".
"hold on!? You mean that the twelve of you took care of sparkplug!?" Megan said.
Twilight was about to answer her question until stormwing cut her off "there will be time to talk about the past latter" he said "right now the twelve of you need come to the castle to the council".
The main twelve nodded as they all then walked away from kain's bed as they all then turned to the door "will be back shortly" sam said "we just need to take care of some things with the council".
"no problem" Megan said "well be down there in a few".
"correction" applejack said "were going to the council. YOU six are staying here".
"what!?" the five kids said feeling like they were offended.
"you heard applejack" jack said "this meeting is only for us and how were going to deal with mane-iac and her daughter sparkplug, besides it would just bore you guys anyway" he finished. The children were about to say something but stormwing spoke first "is everypony ready?" he asked.
The mane twelve nodded as they all then walked out of the room and closed the door behind them. But as soon as it closed rainbow dash poked her head into the door way "and don't follow us" she said in playful tone before she left.
The six then just looked at each other.
"well that's not fair" Megan said.
"hey like it or not Megan, that's how the rules are set up" Sara said.
"but still.." Vergil said "I wish we could go".
"then what are we standing around here for!" kain said catching everyone's attention.
"what are you getting at this time kain?" Sara asked.
Kain smirked a bit "think about it, will just have to sneak our way into the meeting room, that's all" he said. The other four then smiled at his idea, all except for Sara who had just shook her head.
"that's the most stupid thing that I've ever heard" she said.
Kain just rolled his eyes at sara's comment "whatever" he said as he then leaned up and brought his friends into a circle "ok, now here's what were gonna do".
MEANWHILE AT THE COUNCIL MEETING
"this is an outrage!" one of the council members said at the table "I told you that we should have just executed her long ago, then we wouldn't have this problem!".
Max and twilight sighed "and we told you shockwave that it was better to keep her under arrest then just commit an act of violence" twilight said.
Shockwave was a middle aged griffin from the griffin kingdom, as well as one of the council members for over 4 years. He always had to have an argument with the mane twelve whenever he got the chance just prove his point is always right and there's is always wrong. However over 99% of the arguments end in him losing.
"but that's beside the point!" shockwave said "now that she has escaped, she now has gone back to cause havoc on Maretropolis again! *sighs* I fail to see what celestia sees in the twelve of you sometimes" he finished.
"i see great things in them shockwave" celestia said as she and Luna came into the room and sat down next to her star pupil "but I can understand your reason for saying what you said. You just see things differently than I do".
Shockwave nodded "that I do princess, now we have to discuss on what to do about mane-iac in Maretropolis". As they all were conversing, rainbow six were outside of the meeting room.
"what are they saying?" kain asked.
"there talking about what they should do with mane-iac" Vergil said.
Kain started to grin "that's perfect!" he shouted as the others covered his mouth, "shhh! Keep it down you idiot! You want us to get caught!?" Sara said.
Kain glared at Sara as they continued to listen.
"i say we should just keep her on an island far from land" sam said. Dillon sighed as he and fluttershy thought of something, "that may be a good idea sam" he said "but if we do that, then what will be done about her daughter sparkplug?".
The others pondered about this until luna spoke "well, I'm sure will think of something" she said. Celestia nodded at her sister "Luna's right" celestia said "I know that the twelve of you will come up with something for sparkplug's punishment". The mane twelve nodded as everyone then stood up from there seats, "this meeting is finished" celestia said as everyone then walked over to the door.
"crap there coming" Vergil said as they all bolted away from the door and ran behind the curtains, they then heard the doors open as everyone walked down the hallway. As soon as they were out of there line of sight. The children then came from there hiding spots.
"whew, that was close" axel said.
"agreed" raven said "now I suggest that we leave".
"but if you six leave now then you won't be able to go on your first mission with your parents" a motherly voice said. The team then slowly turned there heads to see that it was celestia standing before them with a smile.
"ah! Princess Celestia!" Sara said as she bowed to her "forgive us, we didn't mean to intrude on your conversation" she said, celestia then walked up to her and lifted her face up so that she could see the princess warm and gentle smile.
"that's alright" she said "although I'm not surprised that you would come to hear about this little ordeal that we were having. Although I would advise next time to use the back door instead of climbing through the window". Sara sighed as she had a sheepish smile on her face, she then looked at the others "well you better get going, the others are waiting for you in the basement".
The others had raised eyebrows at celestia.
"uhh, why the basement?" Megan asked.
"I'm with Megan on this one" raven said "I truly do not understand why our parents would be waiting for us in the basement". Kain then started to put the pieces together in his head as he then started to smile wide, "it's about time!" he shouted as he ran down the hallway. Everyone then ran after him as celestia followed.
BASEMENT
kain ran down the stairs as fast as he could as he then made a sharp left and ran down a dim lit hall, kain kept smiling as he stopped at two large doors. Kain then took a long breath as he then placed his hands on the doors and opened them. There on the other side he saw the one thing that he had been waiting to see.
"element zero" he said in a low tone with glee in his voice. He then bolted to the mecha as he then placed his hands on the large robot "at long last" kain said, as he was looking at element zero he felt a hand and a hoof on his shoulders.
"pretty cool huh?" a voice said.
Kain quickly turned around to see his parents "mom! Dad!" kain said, rainbow dash smiled at him "so, you decided to come after all" she said. Kain nodded as he went back to looking at element zero "Mhm, this has been on my mind for a long time" kain said "and now I finally get to pilot it on my first mission".
Suddenly there were a few chuckles from the other mane twelve as they walked over to them.
"well I hate ta break it to ya sugercube" applejack said "but were gonna be doing this mission, the six of you are gonna be coming with us just to see how we take care of these situations".
"WHAT!?" kain shouted in disbelieve as the other members of rainbow six came down, "looks like somepony was too excited to wait for us" celestia joked as the others ran up to element zero.
"wow, this thing is huge!" Megan said.
"I agree" raven said "I just hope that there will be enough room for us all".
Sara pondered a bit about the mecha "I wonder how will control it?" she thought out loud.
"we don't" kain said in an upset tone "were just coming along for the ride to watch our parents save the day", the others all had upset looks on there faces but quickly changed to smiles.
"oh well, it's not the end of the world" Sara said "I mean this experience will be an observation of how our parents take care of these type of problems". Everyone nodded in agreement except for kain who only crossed his arms "that still doesn't sound like any fun" he said.
Clayton then rubbed his son's head "don't worry about it too much, come on hop in" he said. The six of them stood next to there parents as they all opened up there cockpits and got inside, team rainbow six could hardly contain there excitement especially kain who had a huge look of glee on his face "I can't believe this is happening" he said.
"I know right!" Vergil said over the intercom.
Kain then placed his hands on the controls as he took a deep breath as he glanced at his parents who only gave him a smile, kain then felt his father's hands over his as the mecha started up.
As soon as element zero activated, it's blue wings came out from it's back.
"ok next stop is Maretropolis" twilight said. Everyone nodded as element zero took off from the basement hatch above them and set off to there destination.
MARETROPLIS
Everypony was running for there lives as mane-iac and her daughter sparkplug were destroying the city. "hahaha! Run! Run you worthless fools! Your attempts to stop me are futile! Hahaha!", just then some of the wonderbolt assassins came at her with blinding speed. But as soon as they could make there attack on her, they were all quickly killed by sparkplug.
"tsk! how pathetic" sparkplug said "these ponies can't even lift a candle to my flawless abilities". Mane-iac then wrapped one of her hair tendrils around her daughter and pulled her close to her "that's my little girl" she said in a motherly tone "once we take care of these pests! And enslave these little ponies, then there will be nopony that can stop us! Hahaha!" she said in her villainous tone.
As soon as she said that she noticed something flying in the air.
"hm? Oh how wonderful" mane-iac said.
"what is it?" sparkplug asked.
Mane-iac walked forward as she had a huge grin on her face "looks like were having company" she said, suddenly there guest then landed right in front of them slamming it's arm into the ground. Sparkplug backed up in fear "w-what is that!?" she said only for mane-iac to use her hair tendrils to soothe her frightened daughter.
"that would be our guests" mane-iac said, the mechas cockpits opened up all over it's body as the mane twelve stood up. Just before they got out they all looked at there children "stay in the mecha until were done ok" they all said as they jumped out as the cockpits closed.
Mane-iac walked forward with a cocky smile plastered on her face "oh goodie" she said "my old friends have come to see how I was doing, did you miss me? Hehehe". The mane twelve just glared at her as twilight and max both stepped forward "mane-iac, your going back to grand freedom empire to pay for your crimes!" twilight said.
Mane-iac just yawned as she reacted her hair at them "and what makes you think I'll go back to that little cell of mine hm? You think you have a chance to put me back in that place?" she said with a smirk, the mane twelve then surrounded her.
"we beg to differ" rarity said "so we'll take you in by force" rainbow dash said. As the mane twelve were taking care of mane-iac rainbow six were watching from the mechas cockpit.
"wow, looks like this should be easy" Megan said.
"I know right!" axel said as he leaned up in his cockpit to get a closer look "looks like they didn't need to bring us".
Sara quickly spoke "of corse they don't, like I said before. This is only an observation of how our parents take care of things, were just here to experience this for when our time comes" she said.
Kain only sighed as he watched "I just wish it would come soon" he said.
"now kain don't start, were gonna get our chance. Just have patience, our time will come once we get older and have more experience".
Kain only rolled his eyes as he watched the event take place. Meanwhile the mane twelve kept surrounding mane-iac as applejack and sam made a move on her as they grabbed her from behind and pinned her down as applejack pulled out a rope and started to tie mane-iac up, mane-iac struggled to get out of there grip but it was no use. She then used her hair to bind the two as she held them up into the air.
"is this the best you can do?" mane-iac said as she threw sam and applejack into a building. The others ran over to there side but were quickly stopped by sparkplug as she used her magic forming a large net as she used it to capture the other mane twelve.
Sparkplug then walked over to her captives as she then activated her horn again to send a huge jolt of electricity on the net shocking the mane twelve. Mane-iac then used her tendrils as they surrounded them and held them tightly.
"looks like your not up on your game today" mane-iac said as she increased her grip on them, team rainbow six watched in disbelief. This caused kain to step into action, he grabbed the controls on his sides as he activated element zero.
"kain what are you doing!?" Sara said on the monitor. Kain only had a glare on his face "what does it look like I'm doing, I'm gonna stop those two".
"what! Are you insane?!".
"hey don't worry we got this".
Before Sara could speak Megan got into the conversation "but are ya sure you know how to control this thing?" she said, kain didn't say anything as he glanced at the controls on his sides. He took a deep breath as he griped them tightly "don't you worry about that! I got this!" he said.
As the mane twelve were taking a beating by sparkplug, mane-iac then tossed them into a nearby building. She then walked up to the defeated group with a victorious smiles across her face "it's over" she said.
"not if I can help it!" kain shouted.
Mane-iac turned to see element zero charge at her as she quickly avoided the attack. The mecha then turned around as it brought up it's fists "you think that's save you, you have no idea who your messing with. Just who the hay do you think I-ah!", kain was cut off as sparkplug knocked element zero to the ground.
"typical, only some weakling would do a reckless counter attack" sparkplug said, this hit kain hard. 'I'm...weak' he thought as he just stared at the sky through his cockpit in complete shock and defeat. As sparkplug was about to strike again she was soon caught and bound in a rope.
"ah, what the!?" she said.
"gotcha" sam said as he and applejack pulled her to the ground. This caught mane-iac's attention as she dropped her guard as the others captured her as well.
"look who's off there game now" rainbow dash said.
"looks like your coming with us after all mane-iac" twilight said, mane-iac only grunted as she squirmed in her bindings as the mane twelve all ran over to element zero as they opened the cockpits and pulled out there children.
"everyone ok?" Corey asked.
Everyone nodded except kain who just looked at the ground with a look of defeat across his face.
"kain? You ok?" rainbow dash asked.
Kain nodded a bit, he was hurt. He felt like his pride was destroyed, when sparkplug had said that he was weak. He felt like he had been beaten. Before rainbow dash could ask him more max had spoke up "ok everyone, let's get these two back to there rightful place" he said.
Everyone nodded as they carried mane-iac and sparkplug over to element zero.
