//------------------------------// // Chapter 7 - Child's play // Story: Luffy in Equestria // by SparkStone //------------------------------// Luffy was disappointed that he didn't get the food he was hoping for. As he walked through town, many of the ponies stared at him. They remembered him too well as he wore a straw hat. He was the same pony that was able to inflate like a balloon. Though nearly all of them stared at him, Luffy didn't care. He was more concerned on other things. He has yet to see his crew for three days. Though he knows they can take care of themselves, He wants to get to the next destination as soon as possible. He didn't like to waste too much time on one island after all. Another thing was the fact that he had nothing to do. He was bored just walking through town. Surely, something has to happen. As if fate were meant to be, or his prayers have been answered. A certain pink mare happens to hop over to Luffy giving him a surprise pouncing. "Pinkie?" Luffy realized who it was. "Hi Luffy! What cha' doing out here?" Pinkie asked. "Just taking a walk." He replied casually. "Sounds boring." Pinkie responded. "Wanna hang out instead?" Luffy smiled and accepted. "Sure! Where?" "Well, I'm glad you asked!" Pinkie said as she pulled him close to her side. "I'm planning a party for Pip!" "Really? A party?" Luffy made sure, wagging his tail. "Yeah! And I think you should totally come! Pip's into pirates you know!" "That's cool." Luffy responded. "So are we going now?" "Yeah! It's gonna start soon! Come on!" Pinkie told him as she dashed away. Luffy grinned as he ran after her. Luffy stepped in to the colt's party. It had lots of pirate themed decorations, fake swords, and even a pirate ship. His eyes sparkled at how fun the place was. "This looks fun!" Luffy commented. "Doesn't it?" Pinkie replied. She looked around for the birthday boy, finding him playing on the ship built for the occasion. "There he is! Hey Pip!" Over by the pirate ship, Pip looked over to Pinkie and waved. He got down and ran to her. "Hi Pinkie! I mean, Argh ye scallywag! What are you doing here?" Pip reiterated. "Are you enjoying the party Pip?" Pinkie asked. "Oh yeah! Totally Pinkie!" Pip responded with a smile. He looked over to Luffy and said, "I know you! You're the pony that can turn into a balloon!" "I can do more than that you know!" Luffy mentioned. "Luffy this is Pip." Pinkie introduced. "Pip, this is Luffy. He's a pirate you know." "Really!?" Pip questioned Straw Hat. Luffy grinned and replied, "Yep! Sure am!" "What are you doing here on dry land though?"Pip wondered. Luffy had out a huff as he said, "Some jerk threw me away from my ship. Right now I'm waiting for them. I still don't know if I should stay here longer or just start going back now." "Do you really have to leave?" Pinkie whimpered. "Eventually I do. For now, I guess I'll stay here for a while." "Cool! So do you and your crew have adventures?" Pip asked. "We sure do!" Luffy answered. Before he could go into deeper detail, a mare went to the table and called the kids. "Cake everypony!" The three immediately look over to the delicacy as well as saying, "Cake?" in unison. As they rushed over to the cake, Twilight happened to be outside viewing the whole thing. He really is childish… She thought to herself. Is he really as great as Granny Smith thinks? He doesn't seem too special. Watching Luffy, he stuffs his face with food as well as party favors. Revealing his ability intrigued the kids and they began to have fun with him. Using him like a trampoline on his balloon body, Jump rope with his long arm, and at one point having an eating contest with Pinkie. The two along with the other children were having a lot of fun. Twilight smiled a bit as she thought, Well, he may not be the most serious stallion, he certainly knows how to have fun with other ponies. "So you fought a kraken!?" Snails asked again to make sure. "Yep." Luffy answered as he took another bite of a cupcake. Rainbow being nearby heard this and peeped at the conversation. "And you tamed it!?" Snips asked as well. "Yeah." Luffy responded. "And you also beat fifty thousand fish men by just looking at them?" Pinkie asked. "Hold on! I'm trying to eat here!" Luffy told the three. "Oh come on!" Rainbow sneered as she began to descent into the party. "You can't believe him, can you?" "What do you mean?" Pinkie wondered. "He's lying! There's no way you can do that just because you're made of rubber." Rainbow claimed. "And, if I remember right, kraken is the legendary sea monster. If it was at sea, how can you beat it without drowning?" "I was in this bubble suit when we fought it underwater." Luffy explained. "Whoa! You went underwater?" Snails said. "Amazing!" Snips added. "You guys are idiots." Rainbow retorted. "But Rainbow! Aren't these stories amazing?" Pinkie asked. "It's just like Daring Do! Only with pirates! On and off the seas! It's exciting!" "Pfft, yeah right." Rainbow replied. "Unless Luffy beats some huge beast, I'm not gonna believe a word he says!" As Rainbow flew away, Luffy just tipped his hat and continued to eat his sweets. "Luffy?" Pinkie asked. "Are you okay?" Luffy looked up with a straight face. "Why wouldn't I be okay?" "Rainbow just dissed you like that man!" Snails pointed out. "You should use your rubber powers on her!" Snips suggested. "It's nothing to get worked up about." Luffy claimed, tipping his hat shading his eyes. "It doesn't really matter that much." Snips and Snails exchanged looks and asked, "But you'd still beat a beast if you could, right?" "Yeah, totally." Luffy answered. Upon the day's end, Snips and Snails gave each other a mischievous smile. Something that meant Ponyville will be rocked soon.
