"So let me get this straight!" Twilight began to sum up. "There are fruits like this that give you special powers?"
"Yeah!" Luffy answered.
"And every one of them is unique?" Pinkie added.
"Yep!"
"But you lose your ability to swim once you consumed one?" Rarity finished.
"That's right!" Luffy finished.
"So that clears it." Rainbow declared. "He's a rubber demon that crashed here to take over the place!"
"Knock it off Rainbow." Applejack scolded. "Luffy here doesn't seem like a bad pony. In fact, I'd say he's honest if anything."
"Oh please! You can't really say that can you?" Rainbow complained.
"You're just uptight around Luffy here since he managed to best you in a fight." Rarity stated.
Rainbow's face scrunched up and shouted, "AM NOT! And he didn't beat me fair and square! He used those powers to win!"
"I have to admit… a rubber body in exchange for the ability to swim? How'd you manage to cope with that?" Twilight wondered. "And being a pirate no less."
"I just stay onboard the ship." Luffy claimed. "Oh, but I do have friends who help me out just in case."
"Are they devil fruit users like you are?" Pinkie asked.
"Not all of them. Chopper, Robin, and Brook are the only ones who ate one on my crew." Luffy answered. Just then, his stomach growled. He held his belly and said, "Hey, you guys have anything to eat? I'm starving!"
"Oh! That's right!" Fluttershy remembered. "I promised to get him some food after we came to get you."
"Well, I wouldn't mind making him some grub." Applejack claimed.
"Really?" Luffy smiled widely. "Awesome! What are we waiting for? Let's go!"
Luffy raced on outside, waiting for the others. As the five left, Twilight stayed behind just to check on Zecora.
"What is it?" she asked.
"The pony with the straw hat…" Zecora thought. "Might be more than that…"
"You think so?" Twilight asked while raising an eyebrow.
Zecora nodded and said, "A pony with the power of the devil accrued, still has the dream he has pursued."
As Applejack and her friends lead Luffy to Sweet Apple Acres, Luffy gazed at the vast orchard of apple trees dominating the land.
"Wow! This place has a lot of apples!" Luffy exclaimed.
"Darn tootin' Luffy!" Applejack replied rather pridefully. "This is Sweet Apple Acres, home of the juiciest, sweetest, and tastiest apples in Equestria!"
"All these apples are real nice, but don't you guys have any meat?" Luffy asked.
The six mares stared at him rather surprised to hear that. Luffy simply awaited an answer looking dumbfounded as usual. The girls huddle up to discuss this.
"Did he just say he wants to eat meat!?" Twilight made sure her ears weren't off at the moment.
"I told you this guy was dangerous!" Rainbow scolded. "We gotta get rid of him!"
"Hold on!" Applejack stopped Rainbow before she could start something. "He probably hit his head a tad too much. He acted as if he's never seen a pony before."
"So you're implying that Luffy here has amnesia?" Rarity commented.
"Well… Um…" Fluttershy began, but wasn't sure to finish the sentence.
"What is it Fluttershy?" Pinkie asked.
"Well, when I first met Luffy, he… tried to eat me…" She admitted.
"HE WHAT!?" They shouted in surprise.
"Y-Yes, but he stopped after he got his hat back."
"Okay, we're obviously dealing with a delusional, demonic pony." Twilight hypothesized. "But maybe we can rehabilitate him and bring him back to being a normal pony."
"I think we should just throw him out of town." Rainbow suggested.
Ignoring the idea, they turned to Luffy who was picking his nose.
"Disgusting…" Rarity said to herself.
"Luffy, listen. I know you probably forgot this, but as a pony, we can't eat meat." Twilight informed him.
"… What…?" Luffy whimpered.
"Ponies like you and me have never been nor able to eat meat."
Luffy started to tremble and sat down before yelling, "NOOOOO!"
He looked down really disappointed, but got up and smiled. "Oh well. Maybe when I go back to the others, I'll eat meat. I'm not staying here forever anyways."
"Thank Celestia." Rainbow muttered.
"Well… since that's sorted out…" Applejack spoke. "Let's head in to get some grub!"
"Alright!" Luffy cheered.
As Applejack and the others came inside, Big Macintosh and Applebloom happened to be getting the table ready. They glanced at Applejack's new friend, Luffy.
"Everypony, this is Luffy." Applejack introduced.
"Hi, nice to meet ya!" Luffy greeted.
"Nice to meet you too mister Luffy!" Applebloom replied.
Big Mac simply nodded and said, "Eeyup."
"Luffy here will be eating with us, so we're gonna need another plate." Applejack informed the others.
"Did I hear that right?" Granny said while coming in. She looked at Luffy and happened to squint at his straw hat. "Well, don't you fret none. We have enough for all of your friends."
"Um… We're fine, thank you." Twilight ensured her.
"Suit yourselves." Granny said before she went back into the kitchen.
Luffy sat down with Applejack, Big Mac, and Applebloom while Twilight and the others left in the other room to discuss about other matters. As Luffy waited for his meal, Applebloom started shooting questions.
"So mister Luffy, what brought you here?"
"Oh, I was sailing by with my crew." Luffy answered.
"You're crew?" She repeated. "What kind of crew?"
"My pirate crew of course!" Luffy exclaimed with a chuckle.
Applebloom's eyes sparkled at the thought. "You're a pirate?"
Luffy grinned at her expression. "Yep!"
"So you sail around and find treasure?"
"Sometimes. Usually, we're just out having adventures."
"Now, now Applebloom." Applejack said. "Don't be a bother to our guest."
"I'm not bothering him!" Applebloom countered.
"Soups on!" Granny Smith said as she brought out the food. Luffy's mouth began to water as she placed out apple pies, apple fritters, and some other apple related dishes. Some however were not apple based, such as the vegetarian spaghetti and spinach ravioli.
"Wow! This looks so good!" Luffy spoke with much delight.
"Eat up as much as you want Luffy." Applejack offered. "Plenty more for that come from!"
Just as she said that, Luffy extended his arms and engulfed the entire meal. Though Applejack was aware of his abilities, she along with the others were not expecting his enormous appetite.
"I never seen anypony eat so much…" Applejack admitted. "Except maybe Pinkie…"
"Y-Y-You're hooves!" Applebloom shouted. "They stretched!"
"E-Eeyup!" Big Mac spoke rather frightened.
"Hmm… No horn for magic, so… you must have eaten a devil fruit, haven't ya?" Granny indicated.
They all looked at Granny Smith, surprised that she knew what was going on.
"You know about them Granny?" Applejack questioned.
"Not much, but I've been told about them by the same pony who used to wear that straw hat."
Luffy leaned in, realizing what she meant. "You know Shanks?"
"Shanks? Wasn't he just a cabin boy? No, I'm talking about Gold Roger." Granny confirmed.
"Who's Gold Roger?" Applejack asked Luffy, only to see a blank stare followed by a wide grin. "Luffy? What's wrong?"
Twilight and the others heard the commotion and leaned in close to find Luffy holding onto his hat as he began. "Gold Roger was the King of the Pirates!"
