Rainbow Dash the Sports Star

Discord's last stand

Discord's last stand

Discord had to redeem himself or his reputation would go downhill. His life was also in jeopardy as he was given the ultimatum to succeed or suffer. He knew that it was desperate times and he needed something to make Fluttershy see Rainbow Dash in a way that isn't flattering.

He then realized that she did his job for him. The goons she attacked could be used as evidence that Rainbow Dash isn't the girl Fluttershy paints her as. He decided to take the pictures of the beaten men and them getting into an ambulance after they arrived. He closed his phone and waited till Rainbow Dash would be at practice before making his way to the shelter.

Rainbow Dash had finally made it to Fluttershy and was glad she was unharmed. They hugged and held on to each other in joy that none of them got hurt. Then they kissed passionately before they realized they still had places to be. "Hey, Shy, becareful ok? If anything happens you run and hide and call me. No matter what happens I will always be here for you."

Fluttershy nodded and smiled. "I love you, Dashie!"

Rainbow Dash blushed, "I love you too, Shy."

They peered into each other's eyes for a minute and finally they separated to go on with their day. Rainbow Dash went off to practice and Fluttershy was taking care of the animals and all was right in the world...

Sunset Shimmer was taking orders until she was fully capable of baking at the level she needed to be. She had been grateful that the Cakes had allowed an inexperienced girl like her work. She was getting along fine with them and with the customers as well. She had felt that things were going well until a former flame had entered her world.

"Hey Sunset," Flash sentry said as he entered the bakery.

Sunset turned to him and smiled. Even if they weren't together and things ended badly she was working and had to maintain a level of professionalism. "Flash, what can I get you today?"

"Well I really didn't come here for something sweet to eat more of someone sweet to talk to," Flash said with a smirk.

Sunset was into Flash after they had broken up but with her current relationship those feelings went away. "Well you had a chance and blew it. Besides I have work to do so please leave if you aren't going to be doing business."

Pinkie Pie had been working on baking some sweets and wasn't aware of the drama happening in the bakery. She was just grabbing some cupcakes to put on display when she walked to the front to see Flash getting awfully close to Sunset Shimmer. "Hey what's going on?"

Sunset turned to Pinkie and smiled, "Nothing babe, just person who was about to leave."

Pinkie chuckled, "Oh, well stop by again Flash and buy some cupcakes."

Flash glared at Pinkie, "I wouldn't eat your garbage if it was the last food on earth. I am not here to buy sweets from a third rate baker, I want my girl back."

Sunset wanted to sock him in the face but the Cakes were coming out to see what the disturbance was.

Pinkie Pie on the other hand threw her sense of professionalism and her usually joyful mood aside. "You want her back? Ha! You never even thought about her feelings when you broke up with her. You don't want her back you just want her at your side. I love her and treat her great, you had your chance and blew it. So do yourself a favor and just leave both this bakery and our life."

Mrs. Cake hated drama and didn't like someone bringing drama into their establishment. She knew however Sunset's situation and her relationship to Pinkie Pie so for their sake she ignored this incident. "This can't happen again, girls. Pinkie Pie you know better and Sunset drama isn't for the bakery."

Pinkie Pie was shedding tears, "I'm not a third rate baker...Am I?"

Celestia had walked through that door with her sister in tow and had a giant grin on her face. "Hey, Pinkie, got any delicious cake for me?"

Mrs. Cake smiled at Pinkie, "Well there is your answer."

Sunset was still feeling awful that her ex said what he did to her. Sure jealousy wasn't something she could brag about not having, and she was a problematic person before but that was just a new low. She knew that he had to pay but if she started acting up it would mean she really hasn't changed.

Applejack was picking apples from the trees and constantly thinking about Rarity. "I can't work like this!"

Big Mac was chuckling to himself about his sister's behavior. "Sis you should jus' go and see her," he said while helping out with apple collecting.

Applejack narrowed her eyes at him, "You suggestin' I stop workin' hard because I have a girlfriend? I'm still the same hard workin' girl, you know, nothing has changed.

Big Mac sighed, "Listen sis, I'm not much for words but ya need to live life while you're young. If you really thinkin' about Rarity then go be with Rarity. I can pick up the slack and you can pay me back whenever."

Applejack smiled at her brother, "Thanks, Sugar Cube, I shall be gettin' along now. Tell Granny not to wait up on me."

Big Mac waved his sister off and was glad she was gone. He had himself a date with a teacher from the school and didn't want things to be awkward. "Mighty fine day for a date with Cheerilee."

Discord had finally made it to the animal shelter and looked really sad. He had even forced himself to shed some tears to add realism to his facade. When he made it to the back room he locked on to his target and put on a show.

"Oh Fluttershy, there you are. I was hoping you were okay..."

Fluttershy turned around and looked at Discord who seemed to be crying.

"Oh my goodness! Discord what happened?"

"It was horrible, I was on my way here when I saw these men brutality beaten by your girlfriend. It was so scary that I froze with fear."

Fluttershy was stunned, she had known that Rainbow Dash was capable of defending herself but to brutalize her attackers was a step too far. "Well she told me they were trying to attack us," she said in her lover's defense.

Discord pulled out his phone and cycled through the pictures to show Fluttershy the sheer carnage that Rainbow Dash had created. "Look at them, you think these guys deserve this because of a suspicion? Also while I was there... I heard one of them beg for mercy. Rainbow Dash didn't grant him mercy. In fact she said 'your chances for mercy had ran off long ago' and she needlessly hurt him even more."

Fluttershy gasped and put her hand over her mouth. "Stop, I don't want to see anymore of these pictures...I don't want to hear anymore about this. Just please stop!"

Discord put his phone away and internally cheered. His potential victory was just around the corner and he felt nothing would get in his way. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset...I just was glad she didn't hurt you because I saw what she did to those men and I know you two were arguing because of me."

Fluttershy hadn't even thought of the possibility of being attacked by her lover. "I appreciate the concern but I promise Rainbow Dash would never hit me. She has always protected me and even when I got her really mad before she never lashed out on me."

Discord bit his lip in anger and blood spilled, "You mean to tell me that even after seeing the pictures, you feel safe around her?"

Fluttershy giggled, "Yes I do, when I am around her I feel safe and loved. I will have to talk to her about what she did but I can't blame her for wanting to keep herself safe."

Discord was seething with anger, "Those men are in the hospital and you're okay with it? This girl destroyed these men without so much as breaking a sweat and you're alright with that?"

Fluttershy didn't like Discord's tone, "Why are you so mad, Discord?"

Discord huffed and then calmly smiled. He put his phone on camera mode and kissed Fluttershy while she was off guard and snapped a photo of it. "There...That ought to do the trick."

Fluttershy was stunned. She was kissed by a man and worse of all he took a picture of it. "Discord! How dare you kiss me, I am with someone you jerk."

Discord chuckled, "I don't care and I don't care about you anymore. I hate you and your stupid animals. I have finally got what I needed and I should have just done this sooner. Now I hit send and... voila I am done." He clicked the send button and sent it to Gilda hoping she would be pleased with the evidence. He also sent it to Rainbow Dash's cellphone. He got the number from Gilda just for this purpose.

Fluttershy had finally realized what just happened and what was going to happen. "No! You can't...She will hate me."

Discord grinned widely and laughed, "It's too late for that, It's already been done. Have a nice life, Fluttershy." He walked out the back room and left the shelter after yelling "I quit!" to the owner.

Rainbow Dash was coaching rather than practicing since she wanted her friends to get at her level as well. She had been thinking about possibly letting Gilda into the team if she was really going to change her ways. She was itching to actually start playing against other teams and felt that with the lot she has this year they could be undefeated.

She felt her phone vibrating and made sure it wasn't a message from Fluttershy needing help. She looked at the message and saw it was a picture of Discord kissing Fluttershy and underneath the photo was the words "While you're at practice..." Rainbow Dash closed her phone and began shaking with rage.

She blew her whistle and halted the progress of the practice. "Alright girls I have something to take care of. I will be back soon if I don't return in a while just continue on without me."

With that she ran off and didn't look back.

While Rainbow Dash left some of the other team members had begun discussing things among themselves. "I know she is a pro and really a great person but we can't let Rainbow Dash's drama cause us to lose practice. If worst comes to worst we might have to get a new captain," said one of the members to the others.

The idea was controversial but with the season starting soon it wasn't helpful for practice to be missed or halted over girl drama. It was wrong talking about possible mutiny but at the same time they needed to keep focus and win the games. Possible scholarships and proud parents were on the line.

Fluttershy was panicking and crying in a bathroom. She had shaky hands and her cellphone screen was full of tears. She tried typing out something to explain the situation but was too afraid of saying something wrong. "Oh why did this have to happen? I just wanted to be happy, I guess I shouldn't expect that."

She sobbed for a bit until a knock was heard on the bathroom door. "Who...Is it?" She asked in between sobs.

The person on the other side responded with, "It's me Shy, I need to talk to you."

Fluttershy wasn't prepared for breaking up or any other forms of retaliation and just cried. "Please Dashie, don't do this, I didn't kiss him-"

"I know!" Rainbow Dash said harshly. "I don't know what happened but I know you wouldn't betray me, Shy."

Fluttershy opened the bathroom door and decided to face the music. "So..."

Rainbow Dash hugged her close, "I don't understand why people are messing with our relationship. I just know that I'm not going to give you up."

Fluttershy buried her face into Rainbow Dash's neck and cried.

Rainbow Dash just held her and in that moment nothing in the world mattered. She didn't care about Discord's little ruse, her team's chance of winning or even what was going on outside that bathroom. It was all irrelevant to her at the moment. "I love you, Fluttershy, and I will be damned if I give up on you."

Fluttershy squeezed Rainbow Dash in response and calmed a bit from her hysteric crying. She was happy that she wasn't going to lose Rainbow Dash to whatever the heck was going on.

Discord, back at his alley, was pleased as punch. He felt his job was done and any second now Gilda would text him with a job well done. When the text never came it started to get him worried. "What is going on? I kissed Fluttershy...I kissed her and it felt so nice too. I wish it was a mutual kiss but oh well. I at least got my job done."

Gilda appeared in the alley with an angry face. "Discord!" she yelled like a banshee.

Discord was preparing himself to fight if needed. He wasn't a martial artist in any form but he had been in tussles before. "Look I did everything I could but they won't break up. I thought if I kissed Fluttershy it would make Rainbow Dash mad with rage."

Gilda laughed, "You idiot, you kissed Fluttershy, you didn't think that Fluttershy would just let Rainbow Dash think it was mutual did you?"

Discord scratched his chin, "No...I also didn't think that Rainbow Dash would care since the hug incident almost costed them their relationship."

Gilda shook her fist and got closer to Discord, "I can't believe you're this dense. You were hugged by Fluttershy that time and this time you forced yourself on her for a kiss. She isn't mad at Fluttershy, she is mad at you."

Discord was feeling a bit off about how cool Gilda was acting since fists weren't hitting his face yet. "How do you know all this?"

Gilda flashed a wicked grin, "I got a text from Rainbow Dash. It specifically states how she wants you to pay and since I really want to get in her good graces I felt it would be awesome if I helped her request."

Discord gulped and reached for his phone to dial for help but he wasn't fast enough and soon the pummeling of a lifetime began.

Gilda had found a way to get into Rainbow Dash's good grace and since the text was telling all the friends about Discord's misdeed she knew that her actions would earn her favor with the rest of them. It was only a matter of time until they trusted her enough and her plan of winning Dash over was in effect. She had to lose an ally but for the sake of the greater 'good'.
