Stripe's Corruption

by Fluttershy Phoenix

A Dream or Future Echo?

Sitting up straight, Celestia looks out her window. She looks up at the tower where Luna and Stripe were no doubt. Lately, she had noticed her sister putting on weight. In truth, she could care less, but she felt that Luna was going a little overboard. She wanted to talk with Luna without Stripe, but wondered if that would be a good idea. Her sister could take it the wrong way. The last time she had had a nasty argument with her sister, bad things had followed.

Standing up, she walks over to the window. She knew Stripe had the potential for a lot of power himself. Zebra magic and changeling magic could make him quite the formidable force. He was just getting into understanding friendship and not holding onto grudges like his kind typically did. He was very emotionally fragile and very overprotective of both his mother and his wife. If she went overboard with her reactions to her sister's weight gain, it could be misconstrued as something else and cause problems. Of all the beings in Equestria, Celestia feared Twilight because of the sheer power she potentially had while she feared Stripe for what he could become. His potential to absorb changeling magic and possibly evolve into something more was there. His military training could enable him to learn himself what spells he might find useful in an attack.

What had her thinking these thoughts was the nightmare of a dream she had just had. If she removed everything Stripe cared about and banished him, it was highly likely he would seek retribution. He would not fear death at that point.

Up in the tower, Luna rested peacefully when she heard a knock. “Come in.” Seeing her sister, she blinked and smiled.

“Where is Stripe? I wish to speak with you and him about your weight.”

“What about it?”

“Well, don't you think you are getting a bit too big?”

“Perhaps, but Stripe seems to enjoy. Besides, this was your idea after all. I was against it initially.”

“Well, try and cut back a bit. If something should happen, then we really need to be fighting fit.”

Luna nodded. “I will speak with Stripe about it. Maybe I can get him to let me lose a little.”

“Well, maybe not that far. Just, try not to get too much bigger. After all, I'm supposed to be the big sister here.”

Luna merely smirked at that. “You used to be, but no longer.”

As Celestia turned to leave, Luna stopped her. “Sister, why did you come to me like this?”

“I had a nightmare. It was serious. Stripe was a monster that called himself Lunar Moon. And it was my fault......at least in part.”

“Because of his past?”

“Partially. But also because I overreacted to your....gain. I felt you couldn't do your part and took measures to force you to lose weight. It just drove you away and then we had a fight. You were killed and I banished him. He came back and he killed everypony I held dear before taking me out. It was easy for him too. With all my knowledge and years, it was so easy for him to kill me. At that point, his heart was no longer there.”

“I am dreadfully sorry dear sister. I do find it hard to believe he could take you down with such ease. But, how he changed and what he became......do you think it is possible?”

Celestia seemed to think for a moment as she sat down. “Yes,” she finally answered.

“Well, as long as he has a family, I think he'll be fine.”

“I agree. Though, why am I always nasty in my dreams? Aren't you supposed to be.....” Celestia asked as her larger sister looked away. “Oh, very funny Luna. You are a real laugh out loud riot.”

“Hey, you prank me all the time. So, I have to get revenge somewhere.”

“Hmm....so do I. I wonder if Stripe likes secrets. I may have something to tell him.”

Luna visibly paled at this as her sister quickly headed down the stairs. “CELESTIA!!!” Luna charged out the door after her sister in an attempt to stop her only to find her sister at the bottom of the stairs with a pie she had grabbed from a nearby vendor. The blue alicorn had charged into it before she realized what had happened.

“Now, where is that zebra.”

“Oh, you want a prank war Tia, you got it.”

Author's note: This was originally based off of a random part from a role play with an alternate I called Star. I decided to make it a full background and go into more detail with it. It was a lot of fun, but I realized I didn't want it to end with him an evil cold person living in a country he destroyed. So, I added the last bit to make it seem like a dream instead and then playful banter between Celestia and Luna. Though, you have to ask yourself. Is this prank war what starts the end of Equestria? Or is it a playful alternative to complete and total destruction? I'll let you guys decide.
