It was a dark and stormy night! Nah I’m just messing with you. It was a dark and cool night, and I had just finished preparations for Luna’s midnight party. “This is one of my favorite times of the year Starlight!” I said.
“Yah, I love when we get to see the the wonderful and colorful lights from the sky! It’s almost like a watercolor painting in the sky.”
I am from the Lunar republic. I stand for the rights of the moon and night. For some odd reason I have always heard of the Solar republic but have never seen the other side. From what Luna says it is always bright and and this “thing” called the sun is raised by her opposing sister Celestia. We have been at war with the Solar republic for who knows how long. My mother was captured and killed by a soldier from the solar side. I’ve learned that when I sing from the heart I get pink sparkly glowing things around me. Nopony else has witnessed it but me. “Hey Starsong! I heard that you were almost done with your new album. Congrats!” That is Cosmicdust, he is one of my good friends and he, like everypony else is helping with the preparations. He is a black Pegasus with a grey and white mane and tail with a constellation cutie mark. He has blood red eyes and a red claw mark from a manticore across the side of his right eye. “Thanks Cosmic! You now would it would be really cool to see the other side of the border wouldn’t it?” I asked. Everypony gasped.
“Starsong you wouldn’t last a night on the other side! You would be blinded by all the light!” Cosmic said.
“Light smite I don’t care. The other side just sounds so wonderful doesn’t it?” Everypony around me was silent as if I said that the sun wasn’t any different from the moon. So I walked away to go research at the Library. On my way over I met Stardust. She is a alicorn just like me but she has a blue gem on her chest and she is a cosmic pony. “Hey sis, what’s up?” she asked.
“Oh nothing much. Just going to go research on-”
“That sounds boring, Really boring. Come over to my place later and we could get hoofacures.”
“Um, ok. See you later!” Boring?! Boring?! I love to do research and she says it’s boring?! I guess I’d better get use to this.
So from there I arrived at the Library. The Lunar Library is the second biggest library compared to the Crystal Library. It contains a rare book that only I know about; Not even the workers know how valuable it is. Yet they loan it out to suspicious ponies. (Weird). So I walked in and headed to the third floor. On my way up I saw Milky Way. She is a navy blue Pegasus with white mane and tail and an outline of a star cutie mark. “What’s up Starsong? Coming up to study on something?”
“You know me way too well Milky.” I continued up the staircase and finally reached the top. No pony was even up there so I got the whole room to myself. So I rushed over to an aisle of books and what do you know? I found the book I was looking for. So I first began looking up stuff. I first looked up the sparkly happenings. I couldn’t read the entire page not only was it something I couldn’t translate but there were holes in the page. Ugh, this sucks! Maybe Milky knows where I can find the author. So went down and asked her about the author.
“Do you know this author and where I can find him?”
“The author is Pink Paints and she is located in a place called Canterlot on the other side. She is on the forbidden side you know.”
“Thanks anyway.”
“No prob!” So from there I studied on the solar republic. That made me wonder, Why do we have a book on this if we hate the solar side? Oh well, I won’t say anything. So I started to prepare for my journey to the Solar Republic.
Chapter 2: Meeting Bluebass
When you prepare to go where no pony has gone before and it’s against the rules, keep it a secret and you’re good. So anyways, I checked the book out and I also got some other books. On my way down, I met up with Luna, “Greetings Starsong.” “Hello Luna! Im just um going to my house to study. Um, bye Luna.” I galloped as fast as I could from the premises. I flew into the door and got a headache. I’m ok and yet no sign of a concussion.........yet. Then I opened the door and slammed it. Just to make sure no pony was there, I looked through the keyhole. No one followed me. So I ran up stairs and slammed the door, closed all the shades, cleared my desk, and began to read.

After reading for two days, I started to prepare for my journey to the other side.
I packed food, my book, some bags, and my camera. I had also made my outfit for the journey. So I gathered all my belongings needed and snuck out of my house. It was still little light out but I still kept going until I reached the borders. I couldn’t believe I was here! Then remembering my quest I trekked on. I stopped then I put one hoof over the border. Then the next hoof and so on. It was bright over on the other side. Never seeing this side before, I was curious about everything here. Suddenly I had reached the town of Ponyville. It was a smaller city than my hometown. It was a quaint small town with small houses. Some were about two stories tall others were about one story. Not realizing where I was going I Bumped into somepony.
“Oh Celestia I’m so sorry.” I said trying to blend in.
“It’s okay. Wasn’t looking where I was going either. By the way I’m Bluebass.”
“I’m Starsong. Mind showing me around?”
“Sure.”
So we traveled off and about the town. BlueBass was a Navy blue alicorn w/ shaggy brown hair that glistened in the sun and his cutie mark was a bass clef. His horn seemed to be broken off by somepony or something. I’d rather not question about it though….
The city was really pretty with the old style architectural houses, city hall, the schoolhouse, and the farm that was fairly close to the town. Over all I think I will have a good time here on the other side as long as I survive.

Celestia had just called upon her trusted royal guard to come.
“All royal guards must be put upon the border. Anypony that comes toward the line within four yards must be arrested or interrogated.” The guard left the room and did as ordered.

Bluebass and I kept walking down the street. While we were walking we bumped into a grey mare.
“Oof” “Oh, I’m sorry I wasn’t looking where I was going” said the grey pony, “By the way I’m Octavia Are you new here?”.
“Yes actually. I just moved from an estate in Canterlot,” I lied.
“Is that so……….well I’d be happy to show you around if you’d like.”
“Well that’s awfully kind of you but my friend here is showing me around so, no thanks,” I said.
“Oh well that's nice then I suppose its just that we don’t get very many new ponies around here ever since the war between Celestia and Luna”
“On the other hoof though I would like to know where I can perform some songs while I’m here,” I told her.
“Certainly there is a stage right next to Vinyl’s house, very peculiar pony though if you ask me,” Octavia had said.
“Fine by me. Blue Bass?” I told her.
“Fine with me,” he said.
So Octavia lead us through the beautiful town of Ponyville. As soon as we got to Vinyl’s place we thanked the mare and knocked on the door. “Hello? Anypony home?”.
“Ciao, How can I help?” asked the white unicorn.
“We were told that you had a good stage and that you would assist us with music and such,” I told her.
“Yah. I don’t much care go on and help yourselves,” She replied. So we got the music together, the props and got ready for tonight's big show. While Vinyl and I were getting ready to have a blast I wondered how everypony was doing back at home.. I really missed my sister Stardust. I especially missed my dear, dear friend Meadowlark.
