“Are you sure you want to do this?” Private Poster asked.
“Positively.” Star Swirl replied. “If we want to find out what happened to those ponies we must go into the cave.”
“If that’s what you wish sir, I won’t stop you.” Poster replied. Star Swirl nodded and left the tent.
“Are you ready?” Star Swirl asked The Doctor and Twilight.
“Almost,” The Doctor said. “Just close your eyes real quick.”
“Why?” Twilight asked.
“Because while in the cave we can’t blink, blink and we’re dead.” The Doctor explained. “Now close your eyes and let them soak up those tears.” Everypony closed their eyes and let their tears soak in their eyes. “There, good.” The Doctor said. “Open your eyes.”
“Now, don’t blink.” The Doctor said, and the three entered the cave. Inside, Star Swirl and Twilight used their magic to light the way.
The three struggled to keep their eyes open, enough to where Star Swirl had to cast a spell just to keep their eyes open. While walking through the south cavern Twilight asked, “So what happens if we do encounter a Weeping Angel?”
“I’m not sure yet,” The Doctor replied, “I haven’t thought about it.”
Star Swirl then turned around and faced The Doctor a sign of anger on his face. “Are you telling me that you brought us into a cave to find something that could potentially kill us, with no idea of how to defeat it!?!?”
“Um… Star Swirl…” The Doctor said.
“With how smart you’re supposed to be, I would hope you would be able to figure out a way to destroy a stone statue!!!” Star Swirl shouted.
“Star Swirl?” The Doctor asked.
“What!?!?” Star Swirl yelled.
“Look behind you.” The Doctor asked. Star Swirl turned around and gasped. What the unicorn saw was a stone alicorn with extending hooves, sharp teeth, and dressed in angel drapes.
“A Weeping Angel.” Star Swirl said.
“Back away slowly.” The Doctor said.
Star Swirl began to back away when he said, “So how do we defeat it?”
“First we get out of here. Second we find a way to destroy the Weeping Angel.” The Doctor explained.
“Like shooting a magic beam at it.” Star Swirl said and shot a magical beam at the Weeping Angel, stopping the blinking spell. When the spell hit the Weeping Angel smoke filled the cave causing everypony to cough and sneeze.
When the smoke cleared, the Weeping Angel was right in front of Star Swirl. “Make sure that you keep your eyes on the Angel, but run.” The Doctor said. So the ponies began to run to the cave entrance while trying to keep an eye on the Weeping Angel but they only crashed into the cave walls, causing them to close their eyes.
When Twilight opened her eyes she saw the Weeping Angel about to touch The Doctor. “Doctor, move forward a little bit before you stand up!” The Doctor moved forward stood up and pulled out his sonic screwdriver, and scanned the Angel.
“At this rate, we’ll unleash the Angel on the camp.” The Doctor explained.
“We can’t let that happen.” Star Swirl said. “If that thing is let loose on the camp, Discord will be able to get to the Royal Sisters without a problem!”
“We have to destroy them!” The Doctor shouted.
“But how?” Star Swirl asked.
Twilight thought for a moment. “We have to use magic!”
“We already tried that!” The Doctor said.
“If Star Swirl and I combine our spells, it might be enough to destroy it!” Twilight explained.
“I don’t know how well this will work, but if you can destroy the Angel, it’s worth a try!” The Doctor said.
Twilight walked over to Star Swirl and place her horn against his. The horns began to sizzle and crack. A bright light shone in the cave, creating a beautiful golden and violet aurora. Twilight and Star Swirl were the most powerful unicorns in Equestria, if they couldn’t destroy the Weeping Angel, nopony could.
Their horns shone brightly as a magical purple and gold beam shot at the Weeping Angel creating a small tremor in the cave, as it was filled with purple and gold smoke. When it cleared, the three ponies looked for the Weeping Angel and saw nothing there.
“We did it!” Twilight shouted with glee, high-hoofing Star Swirl.
“I wouldn’t be celebrating just yet.” The Doctor said, pointing a hoof behind Twilight and Star Swirl. Twilight and Star Swirl turned around slowly and gasped. Standing right behind them was the Weeping Angel. “Try the beam again!” The Doctor shouted.
“Why?” Twilight asked keeping an eye on the Weeping Angel. “Wouldn’t it just fail again?”
“Not if I can use my sonic screwdriver to add power to the beam.” The Doctor explained pulling out the screwdriver.
“It’s worth a shot!” Star Swirl said, and connected his horn to Twilight’s. The aurora appeared again, but this time, The Doctor activated the sonic screwdriver adding a flare of green to the purple and gold aurora.
The beam fired again, this time bigger and more powerful than before, hitting the Weeping Angel with a loud, purple and gold explosion. The multi-colored smoke filled the cave again, impairing the vision of the trio.
When the smoke cleared they looked around the cave, The Doctor scanning it with the sonic screwdriver. The Doctor then walked over to where the Weeping Angel had been standing and looked at a stone hoof. He pointed to it and said, “This is all that remains of the Weeping Angel.”
“Does that mean we did it?” Twilight asked. “We destroyed the Weeping Angel?”
“It appears that way.” The Doctor replied. Star Swirl sighed in relief. Twilight cheered in gleefulness.
Suddenly the cave started to rattle and shake. Stalactites began to fall from the ceiling, and pebbles began to fall as well. “It’s a cave-in!” Star Swirl shouted. “Run! Get to entrance!”
The trio ran to the entrance, dodging the boulders falling behind them. They escaped the cave just before the cave entrance was sealed by the collaspsing boulders.
