¨I wish I knew if Twilight is alright, we have been waiting here for hours. What if something bad happened! It could be...the WORSE POSSIBLE THING!¨ The fashionista exclaimed, as she paced, before pretending to faint onto a red couch, she pulled out of nowhere.
“Come sit down next to me Rarity,” Applejack said with a soft smile, knowing all too well that her friend would worry about such things, especially something as serious as this.
Rarity stood up from the couch, which had magically disappeared, and sat down next to Applejack, still wearing a worried frown. She was anxious to know what was going on with her friend.
“Ya know how things like this can be sugarcube. Ah know we’ve been waiting for hours now, but ya never had a foal before.” Applejack continued, as she patted a gentle hoof on her friend’s back to calm her down.
“I know darling, but I'm still worried about Twilight. It aches me to know what’s happening to her.” The fashionista replied, before looking around the room quickly with a look of confusion, “Wait, where is Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie?”
“We are right here” Fluttershy answered as if on queue, while her and Pinkie walked back into the waiting room; well, Fluttershy walked, but Pinkie Pie bounced her way in.
“Here are some Cupcakes for everypony!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed, holding a tray of homemade cupcakes, and without a reply from any of the girls, she began throwing the treats around the room for each pony to catch.
“Thank you darling, how very thoughtful of you to make such sweet treats,” Rarity said with a small smile, before taking a small bite out of her gem-covered cupcake. “Though,” she continued, as she ate her treat, “I wish Rainbow and Flash would get here soon. Don’t want them missing anything.”
“You know he is on duty, and Rainbow went to go get him for us.” Applejack explained, before huffing down her apple cupcake, making pleasurable noises, as she finished, getting a small glare from the fashionista who thought ill of her manners.
“And she is the fastest pony we know,” Fluttershy put in, before taking a nibble of her butterfly iced cupcake, smiling brightly at the delicious taste.
After all conversation had ceased, the Doctor walked out of the room, and Pinkie Pie was the first to notice him, “Hey Doc!”
“Doctor, is Twilight alright? “ Rarity asked, the worried expression appearing on her face again, as she placed the wrapper from the cupcake into a trash bin.
The doctor, who was a unicorn pony, with bright blue eyes, brown skin, dark brown short hair, and wore a doctor’s coat; smiled at Rarity, and answered her question, “Yes, your friend is fine. She’s just resting for a while.”
“See? Ah told you Rarity, she is fine.” Applejack said, giving her friend a smile.
“I’m glad to hear it. I Was just worried is all.” Rarity said, her body relaxing now, as she showed Applejack a small smile.
“You can see her in a few minutes. I'll call all of you in at that time. The Doctor said, heading back into Twilight's room, as he got a nod from most of the girls.
“Alright Doc,” Applejack said, giving him a nod of understanding, while she continued to smile towards Rarity.
“I'll be right back girls,” Fluttershy said, standing up from the seat she was occupying, and made her way out of the room.
“Alright, don't take too long!” Applejack yelled after her, hoping she heard her, and that she’d be back quickly.
“APPLEJACK!” Rainbow Dash shouted, as she soared into the room, followed by Flash, who looked a bit worried, but nonetheless wore a smile.
“Rainbow Dash,you’re back.” Applejack said, after getting pounced on by her blue friend, who could only chuckle.
“Yeah did ya’ll go in yet?” Rainbow Dash asked, giving Applejack an excited smile.
“No, but Doc says we can come in soon. He’ll let us know.” Applejack explained, before sending a smile towards Flash, who spoke up next.
“Good, we got here at the right time,” he said, giving all the girls a small nod, before sending his flank down onto a chair, clearly tuckered out from the work he had to complete that afternoon.
“I'm back girls.” Fluttershy said, trotting back into the room, before noticing the new arrivals, “Oh Rainbow Dash, Flash, thank goodness you’re both here.”
Flash spoke up before Rainbow Dash can, “We wouldn’t miss it for anything, Fluttershy.”
The yellow pony blushed softly, before Pinkie Pie bounced her way over to the two new arrivals, and gave them both a cupcake, which they both thanked her for.
- Ten minutes later. -
“You all may come in now, but try to be quiet” The Doctor said, opening the double doors slightly with his horn, before moving out of the way so the girls and Flash can walk through.
They all walked in quietly, wearing all smiles as their eyes landed on Twilight, and the two foals she had in her forelegs, both wrapped in blankets.
“Flash!” Twilight said excitedly, but kept her voice at a low volume. Her mane was a little tousled, while she wore a hospital gown, and her purple eyes looked tired, yet the bright smile lit up her face, as her eyes connected with Flash.
“Hey Twilight,” Flash said smiling, as he walked over to the side of the bed, to give her a slight kiss on her forehead.
“Guess what?” the purple alicorn asked, as she continued smiling at him.
“What?” Flash asked curiously.
“We have twins,” Twilight said, handing him one of the twins, which was a boy.
“You don’t say...” Flash said, giving her a slight smirk, as he took the boy from her hooves, and stared down at him with a smile.
“I do say,” Twilight answered, repeating the smirk, as she watched him take the boy gently, “One is a boy, and the other is a girl.”
“What are their names?” Pinkie Pie asked loudly, making everyone stare at her with a small glare.
“I think I'll name this little one, Lightning Hoof, our little pegasus.” Flash said, while curling the small one’s blue hair, as he smiled down at him. The foal had a pair of small wings, and purple eyes, just like his mother, which Flash was able to see once he opened them slightly, and golden skin.
“That sounds perfect for him. I think I'll name this one here, Magic Sparkle.” Twilight said, cuddling the small alicorn, who had purple skin just like her mother’s, but had her father’s blue eyes. She had a small nub of a horn on her forehead, and a small pair of wings as well.
Rainbow looked down at Lightning Hoof who was busy gnawing on the small blanket, as he stared up at her with his big purple eyes. “Wow, Lightning Hoof is already awake,” she said, giving him one of her silly smiles.
“THIS CALLS FOR A PARTY!!” Pinkie Pie shouted, bringing her party cannon out of nowhere.
Lightning Hoof starting giggling at Pinkie Pie, after hearing the word party.
“Ah don't think that's such a good idea, Pinkie Pie.” Applejack warned, giving the party pony a worried glance.
“But Lightning and Sparkle have to blow out their 45 minutes for being in the world candle!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed excitedly, while holding up a mini cake for the two with their names and two candles stuck on top.
Lightning Hoof continued to chew on the blanket cutely, while staring at the cake with a curious expression, not sure what to do with it.
“What are we going to do with ya, sugarcube?” Applejack said, shaking her head, before she turned to Flash as he spoke up next.
“Well, I think we should leave Twilight and the twins to get some rest.” Flash stated, while handing Lightning Hoof over to a nurse, who had walked in on the party, wearing her white cap with a red cross on it.
“Good idea,” Rarity said, speaking up for the first time they had walked in. She was busy playing with Magic Sparkle, who only giggled slightly at the pony, while noticing the colorful gems the pony wore in her hair.
“Bye Twilight! Bye twins and happy birthday to you !” Pinkie Pie said, before hopping out of the room, who was followed by the rest of the girls who also said their farewells.
“I hope to see you later, Sweetie,” Flash said, giving Twilight a small kiss on her forehead, making the alicorn blush gently, before nodding.
She watched Flash leave the room, and sighed softly, seeing that she was now alone, once again. The nurse stayed behind to look over things, and keep her in good condition, while the twins were put to bed.
~Later on outside the hospital~
“Come on Pinkie, Ah’ll walk you home.” Applejack offered, while she watched the other girls walk or fly home, all except her, Pinkie, and Flash.
But the party pony had other plans. “I'm not going home. I'm staying here with Flash over night.” she said, popping up behind Flash in a second, making him raise an eyebrow at her, as he wondered what she was up to.
Applejack on the other hand, was a bit concerned, and tapped her hoof on her chin, before asking, “Ya sure?”
The apple pony received a neck breaking nod from the pink one, as she continued hopping around the two, as she replied with enthusiasm, “Yep talk to you tomorrow! Night!” She then bounced her way back into the hospital, almost running into a couple who were seeing their way out.
“Be careful Pinkie Pie!” Applejack yelled after her, before apologizing to the couple, who clearly didn’t like Pinkie’s actions, before walking off with frowns on their faces.
Flash only gave Applejack a small shrug, before saying, “Pinkie will be Pinkie. Good night Applejack, hope you get home safely.”
Applejack nodded, as she tipped her hat slightly, “While that is true, Ah worry about what she might do. Ya won’t mind keeping an eye on her, sugarcube?”
Flash nodded, and gave her an assuring smile, “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to watch her.”
Nodding, Applejack turned to walk off, “If ya say so. Good night, Flash.” He waved after her, while she trotted off back to the apple farm.
