Big Mac's Vacation: Canterlot.

Case Closed

“The case is closed, Isra. There’s nothing illegal going on with the case. The E.I.A has no right to step in.”

“Sir, with all respect, there may be nothing illegal going on, but ethics and moral are on the line.”

“We can’t send ponies to prison for having terrible ethics and morals. Our job is to find information on evil ponies and make them face the consequences. Unfortunately, we have no illegal activity, meaning we have no jurisdiction.”

Isra and Mac stood in the office of the E.I.A Top executive- the agent who reports his findings directly to the Princesses. He sat in his chair and used his magic to levitate the case file to himself. The bags under his eyes were deep and plentiful. Still, he usually had a pleasant smile on his face. Except for today. The agents in his office were persistent with their claim about a case. He felt for them; he truly did, but his agency didn't have the rights to do anything about it.

“Fancy Pants! We both know what Deogol has planned! We can’t let him win!” Isra pleaded.

“I…”

“My father died trying to stop his plan! He knew what was going on, and now we know! We got to stop him!”

“Quiet down!” Fancy Pants commanded. The folder he held in his magic fell onto the floor causing its contents to spill onto the ground.

After a few moments, he calmed himself down. “Look, I know what your father gave for this agency. Sadly, he ended up giving his life. We were all very sorry, and we want to get the stallion responsible. Unfortunately, we can’t. Deogol has done everything legal. The only thing we could possibly get him on is gang violence, but we don’t have any proof of that either. All we can hope is the that the council decides not to vote for the Lower Canterlot Revitalization Project.”

“Well, can’t we tell the council about his plan?”Mac asked.

“So we can cause an internal panic? The media would eat this like your family’s apples.” Fancy Pants began to clean up the mess, “Isra, as your ex- Shadow I have taught you everything I know. I have taught you to never let evil go unpunished. This time, you must.”

“Fancy, there has to be something you can…” Isra pleaded again

“No…no. There’s nothing I can. The chains of government have binded me.” Fancy thought before speaking again, “Isra…you’re suspended until this situation is over. Mr. Mac, you have served your kingdom well, but your services are no longer needed. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, leave, and never say a word about what you have done.”

With that, Fancy sat down in his chair and turned away from the ex-agents. Both Isra and Mac took out their badges and watched as the silver glowed in the low light of the office. Mac sat his down, yet Isra struggled. Her hoof shook as she sat the silver badge on the table. Mac saw a tear drop form her eye. It seemed that the badge represented everything she was-her life. Yet, Mac saw something he couldn’t quite place. A glint of happiness in her eyes? He couldn't tell. He began to leave, yet Isra grabbed his hoof, and pulled him away.

“Uhh…” Mac started.

“Shush, Mac. We still have a party to attend…”

The door slammed in Fancy Pant’s office. He turned his chair around and smiled. When he was absolutely sure the two agents were gone, he stood, and looked out his window. He thought about the case at hand. Deogal, an old council member, somehow had laid his plan into motion. First, he bought the property in lower Canterlot for little to nothing. Second, he managed to trick a powerful Council member into reviving his idea. If the project was approved, the government would buy the land from him, so they could renovate. Of course they would need a construction company to do the work, but of course, Deogal's company had been worked into the deal. After the building's are torn down, Deogal would use his new found wealth to buy the barren land for cheaper than he sold it, build hastily made buildings, and sell to the upper class for a hefty price. It may seem this was a smart business move, but the idea would force thousands of lower caste ponies out of a home and into the streets. Unfortunately, the laws allowed for this.

“If Isra is still the same as she has always been...” He thought to himself, “This project won't go through...no matter what...”
