Rainbow Dash the Sports Star

A second chance

A second chance

Gilda had returned to the alley at the time she and discord were to meet. She was hoping for good news from the anarchistic ally. "So Discord what do you have for me?"

Discord pulled out his cellphone and showed his contacts to Gilda to display the name "Fluttershy" as one of them. "This job is way too easy, and honestly I am getting bored."

Gilda didn't like his tone and gritted her teeth. "So I am guessing that you already caused Rainbow Dash and Fluttercry to break up eh?"

Discord put his phone away and sighed while approaching Gilda. "No, actually I haven't. You see Rainbow Dash is going to be doing it herself. All I have to do is sit back and watch the implosion from a safe distance."

Gilda was intrigued and urged Discord to continue, "Go on."

Discord grinned wickedly as he began boasting, "I befriended her by pretending I was some animal freak and when I was 'leaving' I asked for a goodbye hug just as Rainbow Dash appeared."

Gilda would have paid to see Rainbow's face at that exact moment. "You're so clever. How long before you think the crack you caused shatters the relationship?"

Discord looked at his watch as if it was synchronized to some event. "In about oh I don't know...Maybe tonight."

Gilda squealed in delight as she bounced in place. "This is great, all I have to do now is wait until she calls me and I can easily invite her over to comfort her. Tomorrow I will apologize to Stinkie Pie and everything will be okay."

Discord looked at his phone and noticed he had a text. "Oh here we go I just got a text from Fluttershy." He looked at who it was from and sure enough it was from Fluttershy.

Gilda laughed and rubbed her hands together. "Tell me what it says in detail."

Discord looked at the message and frowned. "It's not good news or at least not good news for you."

Gilda raised an eyebrow and tapped her foot impatiently, "What's going on Discord?"

Discord tried relaying the message in Fluttershy's voice, "Hey Discord, sorry about earlier. I hope you aren't hurt and don't worry Rainbow Dash will come around once you two get to know each other."

Gilda cringed at the impression and made a fist with her free hand. "I thought you said it was going to be over? What went wrong?"

Discord glared at Gilda, "I don't know! It was all going as planned; Rainbow Dash argued with Fluttershy as I left and that was supposed to be the end of that. This means I will have to up the ante but until then don't get pissy with me."

Gilda turned around and left in anger. She wasn't going to waste time listening to how some idiot failed in doing something so simple. She decided she would just have to work on her impression of a decent human being since she had to apologize to Pinkie Pie tomorrow.

Pinkie Pie had returned to the bakery and brought Sunset Shimmer with her. They had a wonderful day at the amusement park and Pinkie didn't want the day to end. "You know you could stay here instead of living alone."

Sunset chuckled and played with Pinkie's hair. "Then we can get married by the weekend right?" she joked.

Pinkie Pie wasn't smiling and looked down. "You're right it's silly, I-"

Sunset Shimmer kissed Pinkie's cheek softly and smiled at her. "Pinkie it's not silly and I know what you meant. I just don't think it would be appropriate even if it was just to make sure I had a roof over my head."

Pinkie Pie grinned, "What if I put a second bed in the room then you could sleep on that bed and it wouldn't be like we moved in together."

Sunset sighed and put a hand to her own head. "It's not that simple Pinkie. Plus what if things get too rushed by me staying here and one of us wants to bail because of it?"

Pinkie frowned and huffed. She felt like Sunset just didn't want to be around her, "Fine! forget I offered."

Sunset was standing her ground but realized a compromise could solve the issue. "I have an idea but don't get too excited. I will see where this relationship goes and if we can survive an entire month together from today then I will move in with you. I just don't want to rush anything and I can't afford to mess this up."

Pinkie Pie was going to give up but then she remembered something "You said you spent the last of your money on the amusement park. How will you pay rent or groceries without money?"

Sunset face palmed at her own stupidity. "Yeah I guess that is what just happened. I wasn't thinking ahead...Well I could always get a part time job."

Pinkie Pie's face stretched with a grin. "You can work here with me! We can bake together."

Sunset didn't know anything about baking but if it would please Pinkie she thought it couldn't hurt learning. "Alright then I will under one condition; you have to teach me how to bake."

Pinkie Pie ran away instantly and returned seconds later with aprons and a chef's hat. "Let's start now!"

Applejack and Rarity were at Sweet Apple Acres winding down for the night. Rarity had refused a ride home from Big Mac in order to stay the night. She knew that she ran the risk of wearing the same clothes for two days in a row but figured if she got up early enough she could rush home and change.

Applejack was nervous about having Rarity stay the night. Things had began heating up at the amusement park and they had been making out recently. She knew she wasn't ready for anything further especially until she has been comfortable enough to tell her family.

They were watching television in the living room with Apple Bloom and Granny Smith. The show that played was a western drama that the Apple family enjoyed watching. Rarity wasn't amused at the show and couldn't be playful with the family around.

Rarity was getting bored and poked Applejack gently. "Let's go upstairs I want to see your room."

Applejack fidgeted and looked around. "Why don't we stay a little longer down here and then we can go up to sleep."

Rarity put on a pouty face and whined, "I'm bored! sitting here and doing nothing is no fun."

Granny Smith wasn't enjoying the complaints of the pale girl and said "Quiet down you two, I'm watchin' my show here."

Applejack looked at her grandmother "Sorry granny, I will take Rarity upstairs so you can watch your show in peace."

Granny Smith just watched them two leave and tapped Apple Bloom, "Hey kiddo, what's goin' on with them two?"

Apple Bloom looked to her grandmother causing her to miss an important moment in the show. "I don't know, granny, it's odd seein' them together like that."

Granny Smith had seen Applejack hanging out with that Rainbow haired girl before and not many others came by the farm. Applejack hardly had company come over, and especially invited to her room. "Maybe it's nothin' and I'm just over thinkin' things."

Rarity was walking around in Applejack's room looking at all the pictures and memorabilia. "You know, it's going to get harder to tell them the longer you wait," Rarity said while picking up a picture of Applejack holding a ribbon.

Applejack sat on her bed and sighed softly, "I know Rarity, I know."

Rarity put the picture down and turned to face Applejack on her bed. "I don't want to be a dirty secret that you hide from your family. I will not start a relationship like that."

Applejack stayed silent for a bit until Rarity got on her bed and in her face. "I'm not ready to tell my grandmother that I am into girls. I don't even know if this means I am into girls or just into you."

Rarity chuckled, "Well I can say for sure you're into me. I just know that I am really into you."

Applejack blushed, "Why? Why do you even like me? I'm not fancy or sophisticated like you are. I'm just a simple country gal."

Rarity pressed her nose to Applejack's with their lips almost touching. "Because my heart goes crazy whenever I am around you. I don't care if you're some simple country gal, because you're my country gal. I can't help the way I feel, darling, I just do."

Applejack closed her eyes and moved her lips forward to meet Rarity's. It started as a soft kiss but then it became more needy. Applejack's lips pressed hard against Rarity's as the kiss continued. "Look what ya doin' to me Rarity. I am crazy about you too."

Rarity giggled and continued kissing Applejack for a while. "Let's be crazy together then shall we?"

Applejack nodded and they continued kissing for a while until they got tired of kissing and they just held hands while laying together.

Rainbow Dash was on the couch in the living room with Fluttershy snuggled up to her. A big blanket surrounded their bodies as they watched some movies. They hadn't been talking as much since that incident but they were trying to enjoy their time and not let the recent drama affect them.

Fluttershy was getting scared with the silence and the lack of talking. Even if they were watching movies it wasn't usual for their silence to be so lasting. "Rainbow..."

Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy and got the clue. She paused the movie and gave Fluttershy her full attention.

Fluttershy didn't have a clue where to start, "I was just wondering if the thing with Gilda didn't happen...Would you have still reacted like that with Discord?"

Rainbow Dash regretted pausing the movie. "Look, Fluttershy, I don't know how to say this without sounding petty or jealous; I just don't like the way he makes me feel. He looked right at me with a smirk, and then he said whatever he did to get you to hug him. I don't think I would have been as upset if he didn't look so smug about it afterwords."

Fluttershy gently laid her head on Rainbow Dash's neck and grabbed her hand. "I wish I saw it, because I didn't see it, I misunderstood your anger and I said stupid things to you. Still it just saddens me because he did share an interest in animals like me. I didn't want a boyfriend I just thought I had made a new friend."

Rainbow Dash ran her hand through Fluttershy's hair. "Yeah well, I don't think he was being honest about anything. I won't tell you to not make friends, I would love if you could find a friend who loved animals as much as you since I have friends who love sports like me. I want you happy Fluttershy because when I say I love you I don't just mean I want to get in your pants. So if you can find a friend who has the same interests as you then I will be okay with that. Just be careful...I would hate for someone to try and prey on you by lying."

Fluttershy yawned softly and kissed Rainbow Dash's forehead. "Don't worry Dashie, even if someone lied to me about liking animals just to get close to me, I would never let anyone get in between us. I am happy being your girlfriend and your number one fan in sports."

Rainbow Dash smiled softly before kissing Fluttershy's lips. She kept the kiss going for a bit until it became a make out session. Their tongues were getting involved and that's when they had to break the kiss before it got messy. "Well I am happy with you as my girlfriend, though I think Scootaloo has you beat for my number one fan."

Fluttershy giggled and grabbed Rainbow Dash's hand. "Well let's go to your room and find out just who really is your number one fan." Fluttershy winked at Rainbow Dash before walking with her hand in hand to her room.

Morning came and Gilda was dressed to impress. She had a brown shirt that clung to her curves and jeans with the holes in them. She had her hair styled in a in a faux-hawk and her shoes were clean. "Yeah I look good," she said while looking into the mirror. She packed her stuff for school and started walking to the bus stop to get there.

When she arrived at school she scanned the parking lot for Pinkie Pie and the others. She was focused on finding Pinkie Pie so she could apologize before class even started. She would have no other opportunities till lunch if she failed in finding her.

She found the group having a morning chat before breakfast but noticed they all seemed to have had themselves a great night. She was the one who should have had a good night not stupid Fluttershy. She approached the group with Sunset already at arms and kept her distance. "I am not here to fight. I actually have something to say to Pinkie."

Sunset wasn't at 100 percent this morning. She had spent the night baking all sorts of sweets with a modicum of success. "Well if you want to speak to Pinkie you have to speak to her with all of us here."

Gilda didn't care if the others were there as long as they didn't stop her. "Alright, Pinkie Pie I have been doing a lot of thinking. I was a pain to all of you but I was especially cruel to you because I was jealous. I just want you to know that I am no longer going to be a mean person and I want to say I am truly sorry for hurting you."

Pinkie Pie didn't know if Gilda was being honest but at the same time she knew that forgiving Sunset had turned out well for her. "If you truly mean what you are saying, than I will accept your apology. That doesn't mean we are friends but I hope one day we can be."

Gilda produced some fake tears. "Oh thank you, I am so happy to be given a second chance. I was so cruel to you all and I truly do hope that I can prove to you all how much of a good friend I can be, I know it will take time but I promise to stay good."

Applejack couldn't tell if Gilda was being honest. Her words seemed sincere enough but the motive behind them didn't. "Well just so ya know this second chance is also a last one for ya."

Rainbow Dash chimed in, "Exactly! So please make this count Gilda, we used to be good friends and as I said before you could do well in the soccer team. If you truly are turning over a new leaf then who knows you might just find yourself some more friends and even someone special."

Gilda smiled, "Looking forward to that, well I'm going to head to class early so I can get a head start in studying." She left the group while almost puking from how putrid it was being so nice. She hated the fact she had to fake being nice. It was almost making her itchy to lash out and beat someone down. "Well that was gross, but hopefully worth it. I got a second chance and I won't be blowing it."
