"Court is now in session for the trial of Pinkamena Diane Pie. Defense are you prepared?" The judge asked. Luckily the judge from Phonix's world wasn't busy.
"Er, yes your honor." She said, with tension in her voice. Her first trial and so much was already on the line.
"Proscecution are you ready?" The judge asked, facing the Dark manned pony on the opposite end of the courtroom.
"Fool. If I was not ready, do you think I would be here? I'm insulted you would imply that I, Dark Eclipse Side, would stand upon the goddess of law unprepared."
"!!! Sorry Proscecutor Dark." The judge said a bit too sincerely."
"Wow, Twilight he has the judge eating out of his hands..." Spike said worried.
"You haven't changed at all Dark Side." Twilight said with a Dark look on her face.
"Keh heh heh," Dark Side laughed. "Why change what is already perfect?"
"Your far from perfect. Your despicable. To think you'd try to banish a girl in love with you?!" She yelled tears forming in her eyes.
"She doesn't love me, for one. She's just a little filly with a crush. Nothing more than that. There is nothing to discuss. I will be calling my first witness."
"Wait actually that is my j-" The judge started before being interrupted by piercing sound coming from Dark Side's horn.
"The prosecution calls Detective Horseshoe to the stand."
Minutes later the same detective Twilight met yesterday stood before her, now an enemy instead of ally.
"Screw the name and occupation. Testify and get it over with. Tell us why Pinkie IS the murderer, beyond a shadow of a doubt." Dark Side commanded him confidently.
"Yes sir!"
---Reason for Suspicion---
At the crime scene, there were two Sharp objects.
One was the butcher knife in the court record... The other was a small chisel.
Luminiol tests showed the Butcher Knife had blood on the sides. The defendant seized the victim in the kitchen and viciously stabbed him to death!
"Well then Twilight any "Contradictions"?" Dark Side said mockingly, knowing nothing contradicted the evidence.
"Your Honor! Dark Side fed Detective Horseshoe his words!" Twilight shouted accusingly.
"Unless you have evidence to prove your accusation, you Wil be forced to withdraw and make due with cross examining the witness."
"Yes, your honor..." She said sadly but obediently.

"OBJECTION!" Twilight shouted, her vocal cords violently vibrating, her pulse racing. "This may not be defining evidence, but I believe it is very well worth mentioning. If you will look closely, the knife has blood on both sides, but not at the tip."
"What do you think we're blind? So what?" Dark Side said, thinking this was just a ruse to buy time.
"Actually, it contradicts his whole testimony." She said with a confident smile.
"Me. Sparkle, please elaborate."
"Kindly. If you'll recall Detective Horseshoe's testimony, he stated the victim was stabbed. But not one drop of blood is on the tip. Therefore, he was more than likely slashed.
"Horseshoe! How did the police team overlook this?!" Dark Side asked Horseshoe angrily.
"I don't know sir, I-"
"Look forward to next month's pay. And the rest of the police squadron too!" He said making that piercing notice with his horn again.
"Urk..."
"So Ms. Sparkle, does this significantly change any factors?" The judge questioned Twilight.
"Actually, your honor, it changes everything."
"Okay," the Judge said nodding. " What exactly does it change?"
"It changes the murderer, your honor."
"What?!" Dark Side exclaimed.
"Let me explain for people like Dark Side who haven't caught up yet-" Twilight started.
"Ms. Sparkle I will not allow slander of the witness. Now continue, without public insults to the prosecutor."
"Yes sir. You see your honor, an earth pony can only hold a knife with their two front hooves. And, as you could imagine it'd be very difficult to make a slashing motion while holding the knife like that. In conclusion, the killer was not an earth pony!" Twilight concluded.
"Go Twilight!" Spike cheered. "Good hustle Pinkie's in the clear now!"
"OBJECTION!"
"Now who was that?" The judge asked.
"It was.Me of course baldy." Dark Side said shrugging his front hooves and shaking his head. " Now. What the defense is attempting to assert here is that Ms. Pie couldn't hold the knife in a manner to where she could murder someone. Well, I object." Dark said stated calmly.
"What? Twilight just proved she couldn't have done it." Spike said, growing angry at the dark manned prosecutor.
"Actually, what she asserted made it more likely." Dark Side said, slamming the desk with his front hooves.
"How?" The judge asked surprised.
"Well Pinkie's footprints were on the knife in question-"
"HOLD IT!" Began Twilight. "She works there. "It's only natural her hoof prints where on the knife."
"OBJECTION! But...! These hoof prints are on very peculiar locations....the sides."
Everyone in court flinched backwards, surprised at this development as the jury began to mumble and conversation about the case.
"Does that mean she did it?" A blue pony with a white mane asked another.
"That prosecutor knew this and kept quiet?!" Exclaimed another Pegasus pony, obviously annoyed by Dark Side's arrogance and his activities of withholding evidence.
"Mommy is the purple pony the bad pony?"
"Wrong colors kid. Your looking for gray." Twilight thought with annoyed expression on her face.
"Prosecutor Dark! Does this mean you withheld important information?!" The judge shouted surprised.
"Not exactly. Honestly I thought this trail wasn't going to last 10 minutes so I was going to keep quiet for the sake of getting everyone home early." Dark Side fired back.
"Oh well that was thoughtful." The judge said, a bit endearingly.
"Yeah sir! Thanks for thinking about us!" Horseshoes said thanking his consideration.
"It is to be expected. I am the perfect prosecutor after all." He said smugly smiling and taking a how
"Does anyone at all care that he just withheld important information from the court?!l Twilight thought, letting out a grunt of annoyance.
"Well, I see no more reason for doubt. The defense has not produced evidence liable brought to prove the prosecution's case wrong. I hereby pronounce Pinkamena Diane Pie..."
OBJECTION!
"What-"
"The-"
"Hell?! Do you ponies know what hello is?" The judge finished.
"Hi Twilight. Long time no see. Well, not that long, but you know." Said the voice of everyone's familiar blue clad, spiky haired defense attorney.
"Phoenix!" Twilight cried out, lunging to hug him.
"Why the hell are you here?!" Dark Side asked, angry at how victory was just in his grasp.
"I have evidence that Pinkie's not the murderer!" Phoenix shouted pointing at Dark Side.
"Celestia Damn it." Dark Side said, slamming his head on the desk.
