//------------------------------// // Chapter 6 - Shaking Through The Time Vortex // Story: A New Stallion // by Ephraim Blue //------------------------------// Chapter 6 - What The Future Holds The TARDIS Time Vortex The TARDIS lurched to one side, causing several of the ponies on board to fall in that direction. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Derpy all spread out their wings and began to hover no the air. All the ponies who were left on the floor fell in the direction that the box lurched. All except one... Apparently. Blue simply stood where he was, not minding the way the TARDIS had suddenly jerked to one side. Even when the entire space around him suddenly jerked in the opposite direction, causing all the others to fall in that direction, he simply stood still. The Doctor took notice in this. Why hadn't the gray unicorn reacted like the others did, he wondered. Even I feel the jerking of the TARDIS. How does he simply remain calm? A sudden warning sign appeared on the screen of the TARDIS. He reached one of his hooves to try and get a better look at it, but when the ship lurched again, the rotating screen moved out of his reach. He growled in frustration. "Hold on!" he called to the ponies on board his ship. "I think we're going to be landing soon!" He got no response, as expected. With the TARDIS moving around like this, who could focus on giving an accurate response? Not even Blue replied, who had just been standing in the same spot the entire time. The Doctor got a quick glimpse of the pony's face before turning his attention back to the controls. Blue's eyes were closed. Now, The Doctor had seen many things in his lives, including some of his companions starting to get used to the lurching around. But to just stand there, with this being their first time ever being in the TARDIS, eyes closed... There's something about him, he thought. The TARDIS gave one final lurch before The Doctor pushed another switch away from him. After that, the entire ship seemed to calm down. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr, went the TARDIS. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr, Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr. Klunk! The TARDIS stopped moving completely after that last sound was made. The beautiful sound that he missed after the time he spent up on those clouds. "Here we are," he stated, turning around to look at his eight companions. The pegasi had gently set themselves down onto the floor of the TARDIS, while Twilight, Rarity and Applejack carefully got to their hooves. Blue still remained standing in the same spot, but his blue eyes had opened. "WEE!" cried a cheery voice on the other side of the TARDIS, causing them all to look in the direction of the noise. They saw Pinkie Pie standing on one of the decorations off to the side of the console. "Can we do that again? That was sooooo much fun!" The Doctor stared in shock, while all the others just shook their heads in silence. "Does she normally do this?" he asked them, any of them. "Don't mind her," Twilight said, still a bit dizzy from all that random moving. "She's just being Pinkie Pie." The Doctor continue to stare at Pinkie while she made weird sounds, that strangely sounded like the TARDIS's whirring. "Anyway," The Doctor continued. "We have arrived..." He struggled to find the right word. "Sometime. Yes. Sometime. Sometime in a world that apparently has no name." He turned to the group. "What year were we in when we left?" Twilight was the one to answer him. "Year 1001 of the reign of Celestia," she said. "At least, that's what it was. I don't have a clue to what it is now." "Yeah," Rainbow Dash agreed. "Where are we?" "To be honest, I'm not sure," The Doctor replied. "I, for one, have never been in this universe before, and I don't know what could be in store for any of us." "Then why'd you want to take us on this adventure?" Rainbow asked accusingly. He smiled at her. "Adventure. A whole new world to me. Always worth the excitement." "So," Rarity began, "we step out those doors, and we are no longer in Ponyville Park?" He nodded. "Yup. That basically sums it up!" "Ooh! Ooh! Me first!" Pinkie said as she ran towards the doors. "Come on, Fluttershy!" "H- Huh?" Fluttershy asked when she heard her name. "A- Alright." She sounded unsure, but followed Pinkie to the door anyway. in no time, the doors to the TARDIS opened and they stepped. No sooner, all except Blue had left through the doors. "Hang on, Blue," The Doctor called to him. When he heard his name, he turned to the chestnut stallion. "How'd you do that?" He looked a bit confused at that question. "What do you mean by that?" "How'd you manage to stand still like that while the TARDIS was shaking around. Not even I manage it sometimes." Blue grinned back at The Doctor. "I learned a long time ago that gravity only works in one direction." The Doctor was confused. "But the TARDIS is a spaceship that travels through time and space. Gravity doesn't even work for normal spaceships!" "Doctor, you just ruined your own statement." To that, The Doctor stepped back a bit. "The TARDIS isn't a normal spaceship, is it? It has it's own gravity. All I had to do was focus on it. That is what you asked, wasn't it?" Still grinning, Blue walked through the doors to the world they had ended up in. the Doctor stayed in the TARDIS, thinking about what the gray stallion had said. 'The TARDIS isn't a normal ship, is it? It has it's own gravity.' "How did you know that?" The Doctor asked to nopony in particular. "Just who are you, Blue?"
