	The TARDIS stopped shaking. Twilight stood up feeling dizzy. She had fallen down and hit her head while traveling through time. The Doctor walked up to her. “Are you all right?” He asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Twilight replied. “Where are we?”

“The correct answer would be when are we.” The Doctor explained. “Though I suppose considering the fact that the TARDIS changes location in both time and space, where are we is also an appropriate question as well.”

Twilight looked at him, confused. “Well where and when are we?” Twilight asked.

“Actually we haven’t changed location at all.” The Doctor said. “If this was your time, we would still be on the hill. Although, because the land was different at this time, the hill doesn’t exist yet. Instead it’s just one large plain.

“As far as time, we have traveled 1300 years into the past. And if I’m right, there’s somepony you’ll want to meet.” Twilight looked at him eagerly.

“Go on.” She said. The Doctor pointed to the door. Twilight opened the TARDIS door and saw, an entrance to what appeared to be a fort. She looked at the entrance, and at the walls. She thought she saw somepony standing there, but whoever it was moved in a hurry.

“This is Fort Everfree.” The Doctor said walking out of the TARDIS. “Back in the old days, it was the last defensive post, before the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters in the Everfree Forest.”

“Who commands it?” Twilight asked.

“The stallion himself.” The Doctor replied.

“You don’t mean…” But before Twilight could finish her sentence, royal guards in old amour ran out of Fort Everfree and pointed their horns at The Doctor and Twilight. 

They were shouting questions like: “Identify yourself!” or “Where is Discord and why are you working for him?!”

Then they heard a voice shouting, “Give them some space! They’re not working for Discord!” The voice sounded old and hoarse. 

The guards stepped away from the Doctor and Twilight saying, “Yes sir!” The Doctor rolled his eyes. The old times had the Equestrian Army, which was similar to UNIT in the Doctor’s universe. The new Equestrian Army as more like Captain Jack’s Torchwood.

Approaching The Doctor and Twilight was a grey unicorn with yellow eyes, a blue cape and hat, and a long beard. “Ah!” The Doctor exclaimed. “Twilight Sparkle, allow me to introduce you to the greatest unicorn in Equestrian history, Star Swirl the Bearded.”

Star Swirl looked at them. “Well you know who I am.” Star Swirl said “I am not surprised, which is unfortunate, I crave for a surprise now and then. So let me guess, you’re an interviewer? Or a fan? Or you just want an autograph.” Twilight put the quill and parchment she was levitating back into the TARDIS.

“Honestly, I get tired of so many ponies asking me questions, I just want a pony who wants to just talk and get to know me, not ask how I know so much.” Star Swirl said.

“Well you’re in luck Star Swirl, because my friend and I want to get to know you.” The Doctor said.

“Well, I can honestly say that this is news to me. So what were your names?” Star Swirl asked.

“I’m The Doctor. And this is my companion Twilight Sparkle.” The Doctor said and held up his psychic paper.

Star Swirl took and long good look at the paper and then shifted his gaze to The Doctor with a disappointed look on his face. “This paper is blank Doctor.” Star Swirl said. The Doctor placed his paper back into his collar. “With someone of your abilities, that is a disappointment.”

Before The Doctor responded to Star Swirl he looked at a very excited Twilight Sparkle and said, “Before you go all fan girl on him, give him some time to get to know us, all right?” Twilight nodded. The Doctor addressed Star Swirl. “What do you mean someone with my abilities?”

“Doctor, my gift is magic,” Star Swirl explained. “I once created a spell that allows me to see everything about a certain pony. Needless to say, I see through you like glass, Doctor.”

“So, what do you know about me?” The Doctor asked.

Star Swirl looked The Doctor right in the eye. “Everything.”

“Oh.” The Doctor said. They were walking through the fort. “So, why are you here Star Swirl?”

Star Swirl gave The Doctor an awkward look. “To protect the Royal Pony Sisters of course.” Star Swirl explained. “We’re the last defense for them. With him on the loose, somepony has to defend them while they figure out to stop him. And that somepony is me!”

“Wait, who is on the loose?” The Doctor asked. 

“Discord.”
