Princess Luna began to raise her moon into the sky as Twilight Sparkle enjoyed the cool breeze from outside. Her day had been simply wonderful. She got a new shipment of books, was invited to a Canterlot ball party, and she had been praised by Princess Celestial for her dedication to her studies. It felt as though nothing at all could go wrong until her number one assistant came running into the balcony panting.
"I...huff...got...huff...an emergency..huff...letter from the Princess Two!" He said attempting to catch his breath.
"Alright Spike calm down I'm sure it's nothing to be..." She stopped herself as she skimmed the letter. Her heart jumped out of her chest. "Pinkie Pie is being charged with murder. It is thought that she is the only one who could have committed this atrocious crime. Phoenix Wright, unfortunately, was too busy with a case of his own in his world. Twilight Sparkle, you are the only one with prior experience on this matter. You have been chosen to be her defense attorney. Please go to the detention center within 30 minutes of reading this. As for evidence, I have asked the prosecution to aid you in your endeavors. Best of luck." ( Celestia's Letter added to court record)
Twilight looked downward, watching her tear hit the floor.
"This can't be happening...not again..." she mumbled softly in a depressed tone. "No! This won't happen! Come Spike! Lets crack this case!
"Yeah!" Cheered spike.
[ 7:20 Ponyville Detention Center ]
"Huh? Where is Pinkie?" She wondered aloud looking through the bulletproof glass only to see a lone guard blocking the door to the room.
"Pinkamena Diane Pie is in questioning, visitor." Said the lone guard. "Check back in 10 minutes or so."
"Yes sir." Twilight agreed obediently. Since Pinkie was in questioning she figured that she should check out the crime scene before coming back.
[ 7:25 Sugar cube Corner - Outside ]
Police ponies and royal guards littered the area around sugar cube corner. It was covered in yellow tape setting apart the usually cheery and sweet look of the place.
"Eh? What are you doing here, doll?" Said a voice behind Twilight. She turned, seeing a tall brown stallion with a band aid on his left check. He wore a green, large coat sandal a scruffy tie.
"Um...We're Pinkie's defense team." Spike said after Twilight didn't answer. She had blank look on her face. She was hoping she'd never have to go through losing a friend again...
"Er, pal? Are you okay? You seem...stressed?" The concerned detective asked.
"Um, yes I'm fine we're zone Pinkie Pie's lawyers. We would like entrance into the crimes scene." Twilight explained.
"Well why didn't you say so earlier? Follow me."
[ 7:29 Sugarcube Corner Kitchen ]
"Detective Horseshoe. I gave you very specific orders not to let anyone at a 'll into the crime scene. Look forward to salary evaluation next week." Said a voice coming seemingly out of nowhere.
A dark gray coated pony revealed himself his mane was dark blue with purple tips at the end. His hair was reminiscent of Vinyl Scratch as it was spiked to no end. His tail was oddly neatly groomed. He had a menacing look on his face, one eye covered by a monocol. He wore a black suit with ruffles around the chest area.
"Dark Side.," Twilight said recognizing him.
"Holy sh-" Dark Side almost cursed before Detective Horseshoes covered his mouth.
"They're the defense team, Celestia told you to help remember?"
"Damn. Well," Dark Side started, "I suggest you not investigate now. Visiting hours at the detention center will be over in 8 minutes. Meh heh heh. The most I can do is give you is evidence."

"There. Now go you have, what? 5 minutes at most?"
"Quick Spike! We'll worry about crime scene information later!" Twilight said forcing Twilight onto her back as she sped toward the detention center.
"She doesn't stand a chance Horseshoe."
"How can you be so sure?
"Heh heh. You'll see."
[ Ponyville Detention Center 7:39 ]
Twilight ran in huffing and puffing as Pinkie looked at her beyond the glass.
"Twilight?! Guess what? They found somepony who couldn't move at Sugarcube Corner so they brought me here to throw me something called a pity party! " Pinkie said excitedly.
"Pinkie this is serious. I need to know what happened there."
" Okee Dokey! It was around 11:30 when I heard a scream from the kitchen..." She started.
"Sorry. Visiting hours are now over." A guard said grabbing Pinkie.
"What? Wait!" She protested. They ignored her and took Pinkie away.
"What now Twilight?"
"I don't know enough about the case. We'll have to get the information in court tomorrow!"
( Is it just a coincidence that I know this little? What is going on here? It's like I know so little and everyone else knows more than me? Is that darn prosecutor pulling strings? If he is, we'll settle this in court! Don't worry Pinkie!)
