What would it be like to be a Pegasus? To touch the sky? To have no limits? To be free from the world below? To sleep on a cloud? 
Pinkie Pie gazed up at the sky longingly. Her focus came to a Rainbow tail peeking from the edge of a cloud. She thought about calling out to her friend. She didn't know what they would talk about, all she knew is they would talk, do something, have fun. 
If only I could fly...
She took in a breath to call out for her friend. She never made the call. Her mouth formed to the shape of an R. She stopped, shook her head, and trotted away. Her head hung low. She longed to join her friend in the sky, she longed to take off and be free from the earth at her hooves. She wanted to take off into the sky, free to do as she wished. Up high with the air all around her. She wanted to build a cloud fort and spend time with Rainbow Dash in it. 
She stopped and looked up at the sky. She wanted a pair of wings more than others would ever know. She wanted them so that should could spend time with her best friend. 
Why must I be an earth pony? 
She looked up at the sky, Rainbow's cloud was farther away. Maybe that was a good thing. Maybe finally Pinkie Pie could get away from the heartache that she felt. 
The sky looked so welcoming. She wanted to take off and leave the cold rock forever. She wanted to build a mansion made of clouds and spend her life in it. She would have a huge kitchen, a swimming pool, a large welcoming bed, a place where she could escape it all, maybe with Rainbow Dash by her side...
Why do all my thoughts come back to Rainbow Dash?
She thought back to her rainbow colored best friend. Her beautiful strong wings, toned from all the hard work, her sleek, slender, and well built frame, her toned muscles, her beautiful silky looking hair that smelled like strawberry fields after it rained, her amazingly soft coat.
She sighed and looked back at the cloud. She had shifted her position, now laying with her chin resting on the cloud with her hooves peaking over the cloud. Her eyes opened slowly. 
Her eyes...
Rainbow Dash stretched, yawning all the while.
She looks beautiful no matter what...
Pinkie Pie realized what she was thinking. Her eyes cut to the path in front of her. She ran, leaving the beautiful Pegasus behind her. Maybe that's why she wanted wings, so that maybe she had a chance with her best friend. 
She likes Soarin, what chance do I have?
She kept running until she was laying on her bed in Sugar cube Corner. She laid on her bed, clutching a pillow tightly in her hooves. 
Do I really have a crush on my best friend?
Pinkie Pie stuffed the pillow over her mouth and screamed. She screamed out her confusion, her longing, everything that had bottled up. She caught her breath and moved over to her window. 
She looked up at the sky, she could see Rainbow Dash swooping around in the sky, clearing a few clouds, making it a generally beautiful day. Their was a gently breeze that blew the hair from Pinkie Pie's face. She watched her friend contently enjoying the sight of her at work. 
She looks so beautiful...

She felt well rested after a good nap. She looked at all of Ponyville from her cloud. It was beautiful. The birds were chirping, the sun was shinning, everything looked amazing. 
Better get some work done...
She stood up and stretched her wings, then took off into the sky. The cool air felt good on her face. She did a few tricks to warm up then began forcing clouds out of the sky. 
I love the feeling of clouds...
The clouds had a cotton like feel that was fun to fly through. She spun and forced her way through a particularly large cloud. She straitened up after ramming through it and looked in the direction of Sugarcube Corner. She saw Pinkie Pie standing at her window, her mane blowing in the breeze.
She looks amazing...
She couldn't tell from where she was but she thought Pinkie Pie may have been watching her.
Beautiful, that's what....
Rainbow Dash flew a little bit closer to Sugarcube Corner to get a closer look.
Why do I need a closer look?
She broke up a cloud a block away from the store 
Because memories just aren't enough....
She broke up another cloud closer to Pinkie's window. She could definitely see that Pinkie was watching her. 
Rainbow Dash broke up one more cloud then flew down to the window. 
"Hey Pinkie," Rainbow Dash said, her voice didn't waver thank Celestia. 
Pinkie Pie jumped, then looked at Rainbow Dash, automatically perking back up, "What's up?"
"Do you wanna do something, I'm pretty much done with work," Rainbow Dash smiled nervously. 
"Oh! Sure!" Pinkie Pie disappeared. 
"DASHIE! DOWN HERE!" Rainbow Dash looked down and Pinkie Pie was standing right below her. Rainbow Dash flew down to her friend. 
"So what do you want to do anyways?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"hmm, we could make cupcakes, or have a picnic, yeah, lets go on a picnic, but first, lets make cupcakes for the picnic, and we can invite our friends!"  Pinkie Pie bounced. 
"Sounds good," Rainbow Dash said hoovering slightly, "I'll go let our friends know, you've always been the better baker anyways." 
"Okie Dokie Loki!" Pinkie Pie bounced back inside to go make cupcakes. 
Rainbow Dash took off flying toward a tree in the middle of town.
The friends I didn't have in mind but at least I get to spend time with Pinkie...
She did a role in mid air then dived down to the tree. She sped up, tucked in her wings and rolled in through an open window.
"Hey Rainbow Dash!" Spike said looking up from whatever he was doing, "Twilight is over at Rarity's right now." 
"Ok, why aren't you with her?" Rainbow Dash asked questioningly. 
"Had work to finish," He shrugged. 
"O...k.. then," Rainbow Dash moved toward the window. "See ya later Spike!" She took off through the open window and flew off in the direction of Rarity's house.
