Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash go Drinking

by MrPengu1n

The Deal

Rainbow flew through her door, shutting it behind her, leaning heavily on it, and sliding down to the floor. She breathed out a sigh of relief to be back at home, "I'm sure glad that's over," she muttered to herself. Picking herself up, she hovered gently over to her bedroom and tucked herself in, trying (and failing) to get comfortable.

It had been such a bad idea to make that lifetime deal with Fluttershy. Rainbow wished over and over again that she had let Fluttershy talk her out of it! But no, she was doomed to be flirted with once or twice a month forever.

Maybe she could just tell Fluttershy what she does, and then she'd stop? But no, it would weigh even heavier on Fluttershy's heart than it does Rainbow's, if she ever knew of her drunken advances on her. Plus, she'd already taken Fluttershy out to drink so many times now, it'd seem odd if she told her after all this time. She might start to think...things.

No, She didn't want to do anything to jeopardize her friendship with Fluttershy. She sighed and sunk deeper into her covers, just wishing things were different.

She thought back, remembering the first time she made that deal with Fluttershy.

Rainbow Dash slammed her empty mug on the table, letting out a hearty and admirable belch, finishing with a satisfied gasp. "Ahh, delicious!" she said, giggling and bubbling with laughter. She sighed and sank back into her chair, gazing warmly at the yellow pegasus across from her. She giggled and said, "Hey, you know? Your - hic! - your fur, it looks just like butter," she held up her hooves to block out an image of her drinking partner in front of her eyes, "I can just imagine you sliding around the floor - hic! - like butter, you know?" she smiled.

Fluttershy sat across from her, slowly stirring her straw in her drink, and not drinking it. "That's nice," she responded quietly, watching her bubbles go round and round.

Rainbow, even in her drunken stupor, took notice of her friend's conspicuous non-drunkenness. "Hey, have you even drinken anything? drinken-dri-drunken-dr-?" she stammered, blinking and waving her hoof to gather her thoughts.

"Drank," Fluttershy offered quietly, "And, um, no, I don't think I have, I'm sorry, I-I could drink some, if you want..." her mumblings slowly drifted from quiet to downright inaudible, and Rainbow leaned heavily on the table, straining to hear.

"What?" she called rather loudly, "Sp - hic! - speak up!"

"Okay, I'm sorry," Fluttershy responded with not the slightest increase of volume.

"hhhh hh," Rainbow groaned, laying almost her whole body on the table, "Come on, Fluttershy! I brought you out to drink! Not to - hic! - to stir drinks!"

"I know, it's just..." Fluttershy trailed off as she watched Rainbow drunkenly spin her empty glass on its corner, her eyes glazed over and her mouth perpetually smiling. She wondered when Rainbow would actually realize her glass was empty, and ask for more. "I don't think I want to get...drunk...,"

"B-but that's the point!" Rainbow protested, her forelegs flailing wildly, "Come on, you were - hic! - you were being so stressed about the upcoming f-, festi-, fiset-, party or whatever," she stammered, "You were so worried that your animals wouldn't - hic! - perform gooder than last year!"

"Better," Fluttershy offered, her head tucked into her mane, "and I know,"

"Sthsso!" Rainbow lisped, "I brought you out to get drunk! and forget your pr- hic! - your problems."

"I know, I'm sorry," Fluttershy apologized.

"Hey, hey," Rainbow interjected, reaching unfocusedly towards Fluttershy until her hoof landed on the butter mare's shoulder, "D-don't apologize, j - hic! - just get drunk," she instructed, offering Fluttershy her empty mug.

Fluttershy looked at the empty glass, then at Rainbow's face, counting how long it took for Dash to register. Seven seconds. Rainbow held the empty glass high in the air, using her wings to gain an inch or two, and yelled in a sing-songy voice, "rrREfill!"

Within moments, her glass was topped off, and Rainbow held the foaming glass out for Fluttershy to take.

Fluttershy looked at the offered drink, then down at her own, equally full and equally foaming drink. She took Rainbow's drink and set it down on the table, on Rainbow's end of the table.

Rainbow did not notice. She nodded proudly and took the drink that Fluttershy had just set in front of her, "Bottoms up!" she cheered, draining the mug within the minute, while Fluttershy watched quietly.

Rainbow slammed the empty glass on the table and let out another hearty belch, "Ahh! Now, don't you feel - hic! - better?" she giggled as she felt the warmth of the drink spread through her bosom, "Cause I sure do,"

"Um, I think you've had, um, enough," Fluttershy said quietly, taking Rainbow's empty mug and placing it on the tray of a passing-by bartender.

"Thbbbbbb," Rainbow raspberried, "bbbbbbph. Psshhhh, nooooo- hic!" she protested, blinking her eyes one at a time. "I'm g-, I'm-, I'm gooood," she giggled.

"Maybe we should go home now," Fluttershy suggested quietly, getting up from her chair, leaving her drink as full as it was when she got it.

"Hehe, I'll take you home," Rainbow giggled at what she thought was a clever innuendo. She slid off her chair and stumbled to her hooves, swaying slightly back and forth.

"Come on, Rainbow, this way," Fluttershy said, gently taking her hoof and leading her towards the door.

Rainbow followed eagerly, "Okay, Butter," she giggled, tripping only once twice over a chair.

When Rainbow awoke, she was on Fluttershy's couch, and her head felt like it was going through the rainbow factory.

Fluttershy was waiting for her to wake up, holding a warm cup of tea, "Good morning," she said gently, holding the tea out for her to take, "Drink this, you'll feel better."

Rainbow's head hurt too much for her to argue, or to question, so she took it and drank it as fast as it's temperature would allow. "What happened last night?" she asked when she could.

"Not much," Fluttershy answered, sitting down next to her. "You just drank and rambled."

"I didn't say anything embarrassing, did I?" Rainbow asked worriedly.

"No, no," Fluttershy said, and nothing more.

"...did you drink anything?" Rainbow asked.

"...no, but it's fine," Fluttershy instantly assured.

"Aaagh," Rainbow groaned, slapping her head with her hoof, "I'm sorry! I took you out to drink, and ended up drinking enough for both of us myself."

"It's okay, really," Fluttershy assured.

"No, no it's not okay," Rainbow said, sitting up higher, "Here, next time, next time we go out to drink, I'll be your designated flyer. I won't touch a drop of the stuff!"

Fluttershy hesitated, "...really?"

"Yes!" Rainbow assured, scrambling to find a way to make it up to her, "In fact, I'll do it any time you want! No matter how long from now it is, I'll be your personal ch-, chau-, shoff-, your designated flyer."

"Oh, I don't know..." Fluttershy said quietly.

"Please, let me make it up to you?" Rainbow asked, reaching out blindly to grab Fluttershy's shoulder dramatically.

"Um...okay, I guess I would like that..." Fluttershy admitted.

"Good," Rainbow fell back into the couch, "now I need to take a nap,"

Soon enough, Rainbow recovered, and she didn't hear from Fluttershy for a day or two. But that was to be expected, she was really busy with her animals for the upcoming festival.

However, Fluttershy eventually came knocking on her door. Kicking her hooves and looking away awkwardly, she quietly asked if Rainbow could take her drinking, as her designated flyer.

Rainbow happily agreed, and off they went. As Rainbow shut the door behind her, she briefly wondered what Fluttershy was like drunk.
