Today was the best day ever, or at least Discord thought so. For today, he was beginning to fall in love. But let's just start at the beginning, shall we? At least a month or 2 ago, it was a clear blue sky with not a cloud to be seen. The sun was beautiful, yet not too bright; just how Fluttershy liked it.
She woke up early to enjoy the peaceful scenery and a nice cup of chamomile tea. As she was filling up the teapot with warm water, she let her eyes wander to an upside-down, blue and pink checkered house (If you haven't already guessed, it was Discord’s house).
Discord, of course, had nowhere else to go and had no other friends than Fluttershy (and a few others). I mean, don't get me wrong, he was invited to stay in the castle, but he didn't care for “fru fru” things that Rarity was in to. So, he picked a comfortable spot and made his home next to Fluttershy's cottage. She didn't mind though that he was her next door neighbor, in fact, she enjoyed his company now and again.
After all, he did help her tend to her garden once in a while. Her mind was about to go to Discord himself but she was kicked out of her thoughts when she heard the water from the kettle over flowing.
"Oh dear, It’s overflowing again," Fluttershy sighed. Once she turned off the water from the sink, she put the kettle on the stove to boil. After that incident, she went outside to feed her animal friends, including her stubborn friend, Angel Bunny.
After she had quickly fed all her fuzzy companions, she sat down on her chair to enjoy the magnificent scenery. She gazed at the sun rising on the day, touching everything she saw around her.
"Wow, this is so lovely," she said quietly. "How come I’m too busy to even see it?"
"Too busy to see what my dear?" a voice from above said.
Fluttershy looked up to see Discord, the Draconequus hovering above her.
"Oh, good morning, Discord,” She said as she brushed her mane back. “How did you sleep last night?"
"Oh, you know, the usual," he said with a yawn. "But I do have a question."
Discord rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
"Yes Discord?"
"Is that your kettle boiling over?"
"Oh dear! Not again!" Fluttershy called, running into the kitchen.
"You’re welcome!" Discord shouted, and then chuckled silently.
Once he was done with shaking his head, he realized that something or someone was moving toward him.
“Hello discord,” the moving object said.
Discord smiled when he realized who it was it was
“Hello Derpy,” Discord replied with a smile.
Derpy was one of the only friends he had. She was so kind and generous to him even after his past.
"So, got any mail today?” Discord asked.
"Sure do, here," Derpy explained grabbing the mail with her dry mouth.
"Great," Discord smiled as he snapped his eagle claw making the mail form Derpy's mouth move to Discord's lion paw.
"So how is that doctor of yours?" Discord smiled
"Oh, so you heard about that, huh?" Derpy blushed then continued. "Well, he's fine. It's a good thing we got him to Zecora's house when we did, or that poison joke would have made him much worse."
"By the way, what happen when he was infected?"
Derpy then smiled and then the smile turned into a giggle
"Well let’s just say his mouth couldn't get any bigger at the time."
"Oh I see," Discord said as he joined in on the laughter.
"Discord, what are you laughing at? Oh, hello Derpy," Fluttershy said smiling at Derpy. "How are you today? Oh and how's the doctor doing? I heard about the incident."
Derpy shrugged, and then said, "I guess I’m OK, and don't worry about the doctor, he's fine."
Derpy looked at her watch around her hoof then exclaimed, "Oh no!!! Oh no no no no!!! I’m late! Uh, I’ll see you guys later! See ya!"
And with that she was gone in a flash.
"So, any mail today, Discord?" Fluttershy questioned.
"Yep! Here you go!"
Discord then gave the letters to Fluttershy.
"Well then, did you say there was tea?" he asked.
"Yes, it's on the stove. Do you want some?"
"I’m not really a tea drinker, but I guess so."
"Ok then."
Fluttershy then walked into her kitchen and grabbed another cup and with her mouth. She poured the concoction into the 2 cups.
"There you go. But be careful, it's hot," she said with caution.
"Oh, well in that case," Discord said, making a Popsicle stick appear. He then put a Popsicle stick in his tea and finally snapped his eagle claw, turning the warm tea into a Popsicle.
Fluttershy giggled at the entertaining trick. She would usually do this at his tricks. She did like how he made her flowers sing, or the “what's behind your ear trick.”
She put her lips on the edge of the tea cup, sipping the warm mixer down her throat. Afterwards, she put her thoughts on her mail, and started to read.
Some of it was bills, some were advertisements, but out of all the letters, there was one that made her squeak. It was a letter from someone she knew, but did not dare to open it. She stood still.
"Fluttershy?" Discord whispered, waving his paw at her. “Fluttershy?" he called out a little louder. "Fluttershy you know it's rude to sta-,"
"EEEEEKKKK!!!!" Fluttershy screamed, running down the hallway. She slammed her bedroom door behind her.
Discord stood there for a minute, thinking about what the heck just happened. But his focus was disrupted by a letter on the floor. He picked it up, opened it, and started to read. The letter said:
Dear Fluttershy,
Sorry I didn't write but I was just too busy to write to you.
Anyways I’m moving to Ponyville to start a music store there.
Hope you don't mind me staying at the so called “cottage” for a while.
