Fluttershy was silent as the little filly gazed happily at her, only the wind blowing through the open back door could be heard.

"You are my mommy, right Fluttershy?" 

Scootaloo asked, unable to hold her excitement from her voice. Fluttershy glanced away from Scootaloo sadly, she just couldn't look the filly in the eyes.

"Yes, Scootaloo. I am your mother," She whispered.

At first, the filly's reaction was that of pure joy. All this time spent wondering who her mother was, when the mare had been in front of her the whole time. She was tempted to bear-hug Fluttershy, but upon noticing the mare was not sharing her excitement, she held back. Her mind was a blur of thoughts, all centered around the things she would do with her new-found mom, but then one made her pause. Her broad smile turned to a frown as she took several steps back from Fluttershy.

"But...Why? Why did you not tell me Fluttershy? For 7 years I thought my mother.. I thought you were dead!" 

She questioned. Fluttershy flinched  and hid her face behind her mane as the filly lashed out at her, this is what she feared would happen.

"I-I.. I am sorry Scootaloo. I am so, so so sorry. I wanted to tell but I was just afraid what you would think when you.. found out the truth."

Scootaloo's eyes softened a bit at the mare's answer, but she was still angry, she had deserved to know.

"But why did you get rid of me? Was I nothing to you?"

Fluttershy's eyes widened and she turned towards the filly, exposing her face.

"Oh n-no, Scootaloo! You are the world to me. I  have always loved you!" She exclaimed.

"Then why did you put me in the orphanage?" 

Scootaloo retorted. Fluttershy sighed, she sat close to the filly and wrapped a wing around her.  

"I..I did it to protect you."

"To protect me? Protect me from what?" The filly asked.

"To protect you from..."

Fluttershy's voice broke before she could finish. In the pause, her mind drifted to the album sitting next to Scootaloo, which had been left open to her.. well their family tree. She glanced at the scratched out name and began again.

"To protect you from your father."

"My father? What's wrong with him?" 

The filly asked, looking up confusedly at her mother. However, Fluttershy had paused again, unable to find the right words to the answer.

"Fluttershy, why did you wanted to protect me from my father?" 

Scootaloo asked again. Fluttershy signed, she hadn't spoken of the stallion since confessing to Rainbow Dash about her pregnancy.

"Y-your Father is a bad pony. H-he might seem a nice pony at first, b-but once you get on h-his bad side, he'll turn in a r-real m-monster."

Fluttershy was shaking like a leaf as she remembered the stallion she loved turn into a monster in front of her eyes. It took her a year to get rid of the scars and bruises. Scootaloo sees the fear in Fluttershy's eyes as if she is living in a nightmare everyday. Scootaloo couldn't take it anymore with her arms stretch, she jumped onto Fluttershy embracing her with a hug. Fluttershy was surprise at first from the embrace but the calmed down seeing Scootaloo. Fluttershy made a small warm smile as she patted Scootaloo's mane. Scootaloo looked up at Fluttershy's with tears in her eyes. Fluttershy wiped the tears with her hoof.

"So what does my dad look like?"

Scootaloo asked Fluttershy. Fluttershy looked at Scootaloo's face like 'i guess their is no turning back now'.

"You look so much like your father. From your fur to your eyes. His mane is a bit dark then yours. His cutie mark is lighten bolt with flames around it. He is a really great flyer, I really hoped you got his flying. Sadly you got my weak flying."

Fluttershy made a sad frown, she didn't want Scootaloo getting bully for her flying just like her. There words still haunt her Fluttershy! Fluttershy! Fluttershy can hardly fly!

"Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy snapped out of her thoughts from the sound of Scootaloo's voice. Fluttershy turned to look at Scootaloo and said.

"Yes Scootaloo?"

"Where is my father anyway?"

Fluttershy froze at the question, her eyes widen in fear.

"Fluttershy? Are you ok?"

Scootaloo said to Fluttershy waving a hoof in front of her, but Fluttershy was long gone in her memories.





*In Fluttershy's memories*

"Fluttershy, why didn't you tell me you are pregnant."

An angry orange pegasus said to Fluttershy(who looks like 3 months pregnant). The shy pegasus backs away from the angry pegasus, afraid that he'll hit her any minute now.

"W-Well you see L-Lighten F-Flame. I w-was going to h-have  Pinkie Pie make a p-party to surprise and congratulate you about that w-we are have a b-baby. W-Well looks like the s-secret out."

Fluttershy said only to end it with a nervous laugh. In truth she didn't want Lighten Flame to know and run away from him.  Lighten Flame then smiled and put a hoof around Fluttershy who only froze at his touch.

"Well then my little Butterfly lets have this party. Let make this the baby shower. How does that sound."

Lighten Flame smile grew bigger as he looks at Fluttershy, who made a fake smile.

"Ok. I'll let Pinkie Pie know. I'll be right back."

Fluttershy said taking Lighten Flame hoof off of her and start to go to the door. She was almost out the door when Lighten Flame stops her by saying.

"Why don't I come to since I know you are pregnant?" 

Fluttershy knew if she said 'no' then he'll beat her like last time she said 'no'. So she had no chose but to bring him along. 

"OH MY GOSH! YOU ARE HAVING A BABY! CONGRATULATION! THIS CALL FOR A PARTY!!" 

The Pink party pony jumps in the air when she hears that one of her best friend is going to have a baby. The other 4 ponies were there. All of them were happy for Fluttershy and Lighten having a baby. Well all expect Rainbow who has been glaring at Lighten since he walked into Sugar Cube Corner with Fluttershy. It was the way he was smirking that Rainbow feel unease. 

"Hey Flutters can I talk to you for a sec?" 

Rainbow said to Fluttershy pointing to her into the far side of the store. Fluttershy looks at Lighten to make sure if it's ok if she can go. With one small nod from Lighten, Fluttershy meets up with Rainbow Dash.

"Yes Rainbow Dash? Is everything ok?"

Fluttershy said in a worry voice. 

"Yes Flutters, there is. It's just Lighten Flame has this smirk that is given me the creeps. Did he do anything do you?"

Rainbow said putting a hoof on Fluttershy's shoulder. Fluttershy looks back at Lighten Flame, who sees Fluttershy and waves to her. Fluttershy gives a small wave back and when to back to Rainbow's question.

"Oh Rainbow, I am so afraid what he is going to do to me when we get home."

"Why are you afraid he is going to beat you again?"

Fluttershy nods at Rainbow's answer. Rainbow was the only pony she told that Lighten Flame beats her. 

"You know we can go to the police and report him."

Fluttershy shock her head quickly.

"N-No. I not want him more angry at me then more he is. I had to lie when I didn't tell him that I am pregnant." 

"Flutters-"

Rainbow was cut from her sentence when Lighten Flame came and put a hoof around Fluttershy. 

"Sorry to cut in, but it's time for Fluttershy and I go home to get ready for the party tonight. See you soon Rainbow."

As Lighten Flame guides Fluttershy to the door Fluttershy lips to Rainbow Dash.

''Help Me''





It was around 7 when Fluttershy and Lighten came into Sugar Cube Corner for the baby shower or for what Pinkie Pie 'My Best Friend Is Having A Baby Party!'. There are ponies everywhere. When they see Fluttershy and Lighten, they gather around them saying to them 'Congrats' or 'What are you going to name the baby'. Fluttershy didn't really pay attention to the ponies question until cake was shove into her face. She looks to see Lighten laughing with a plate in his hoof. Fluttershy grins and grabs a piece of cake and smashes it in Lighten's face. Lighten grin grew bigger and picks up Fluttershy. 

"H-Hey Lighten! P-Put me down!"

Fluttershy screamed and struggling to get away from his grip. Lighten just laughs and says.

"Sorry my Butterfly, but I am not putting you down."   

"Lighten, please I don't want to fall."

Lighten's grew went to a frown and puts her down.

"Sorry, I was just having fun."

"It's ok Lighten. You were just trying to make me smile and you did it."

Fluttershy said with a sweet smile on her face. 

"I'll be right back Lighten, I am going to get the cake off my face,"

Lighten nod, letting Fluttershy to clean the cake off. Once Fluttershy was in the bathroom, she begins to cry.

"Oh he hates me now. He was just trying to back me happy and I messed up."

Then there was a knock on the door. 

"Flutters are you in there?"

Fluttershy hears Rainbow Dash's voice. Fluttershy's open the door with cake still on her face. Rainbow Dash tries not to laughs but it fails. 

"Oh my gosh Flutters, what happened to you did Pinkie Pie make you the cake?"

Fluttershy made a sad frown which makes Rainbow stops laughing. Rainbow looks around and walks in the bathroom and close the door.

"Did he do this to you?"

Rainbow ask as she wipes off the cake on Fluttershy's face.

"Yes, but he did it just to back me smile. In which I did and I smashed cake on his face. Then he picks me up, which I was scared that he'll drop me, like he did before. When I begged him to stop, he frowns and puts me down. Oh Rainbow, he is going to hurt me when we get home and he might hurt my baby."

Rainbow nods. 

"Are you sure you don't want me to get the police?"

Same as before Fluttershy shacks her head no.Once that the two mares walks out of the bathroom. The party was still going on and it was almost 9:30. Fluttershy was with Lighten and a few other ponies and Fluttershy haven't seen Rainbow in the least 10 minutes. 

"Um, Lighten, I am going to look for Rainbow Dash. I'll be right back."

Lighten nods at Fluttershy and began to talk to the ponies. 

"Rainbow? Rainbow? Oh Rainbow where are you?"

Fluttershy said out loud looking for Rainbow. After 5 minutes Fluttershy was about to give up when she hears Lighten screaming in angry. Quickly Fluttershy ran to where Lighten was screaming. She out to the front entrance to see Lighten being hold against two cops.

"Lighten Flame you are under arrest for abuse of Fluttershy."   

All of the ponies gasps in surprise and looks at Fluttershy. Lighten Flame looks up at Fluttershy with angry flames in his eyes. 

"You. YOU DID THIS!" 

Lighten screamed at Fluttershy. Fluttershy shock her head no.

"N-No Lighten I-"

Fluttershy was cut off from her protest by Lighten screamed.

"THERE IS NO EXCUSES TO HELP YOU NOW MY BUTTERFLY! WHEN I GET OUT I AM GOING TO KILL THAT LITTLE BABY OF YOURS! WHEN I AM FINISH KILLING IT, I'LL MAKE YOU SUFFER!"

Tears of fear are streaming down Fluttershy's face. Her hooves gave out and she fell to the floor crying. 





It was 10:15 and all the ponies where gone except the mane 6 and spike who was sleeping. 

"Fluttershy, I am sorry. I didn't want him to beat you up again. I didn't know that he would threaten you." 

Rainbow Dash said to Fluttershy patting her back. Fluttershy looks up at Rainbow and smacks her in the face. 

"HOW DARE YOU!" 

Fluttershy screamed at Rainbow for the first time. Rainbow hold her check and her eyes were widen with shock. 

"Now darling-"

Rarity started said only to have her words cut off my Fluttershy screamed.

"IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU RAINBOW THAT MY BABY IS IN DANGER AND WHO KNOWS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPENED TO ME!" 

The Fluttershy ran out of Sugar Cube Corner. She can hear her friends crying out her name but see didn't turn back. When Fluttershy stopped running see was near the Everfree Forest. She was out of breath but see didn't care. She  walked at little way when she came across a small cottage. 

"Maybe I can live here so Lighten can't find me."

Fluttershy said as she walks into the cottage. Once she was in their are animals of all types and size in there. 

"Oh my look at all of you."

Fluttershy said.

"Um- is it ok if I stay here."

Fluttershy said in a shy voice. All the animals looked at one another and they smiled. Which made Fluttershy smiled back at the furry animals. Fluttershy sat of the floor and talked to the animals about her life and about Lighten Flame. It was right then and there the animals agreed to help and protect Fluttershy and Fluttershy will take care of them. 

(6 months later)

"Congratulation Fluttershy, it's a filly." 

Nurse Red Heart said giving the little orange filly to Fluttershy. 

"She is so beautiful."

"So what are you going to name her."

"Scootaloo."

Fluttershy said the name of her daughter so warm and sweet. Baby Scootaloo yawns and snuggles against her mother's warmth going to sleep in seconds. Fluttershy smiles at her little Scootaloo.

"SAY BABY!!"

A loud scream came from the front door and came a flash of light after that. From the loudness the little filly begins to cries. 

"Now Pinkie look what you did, you scared the baby."

Fluttershy looks up to see her friends as she tries to comfort her little filly.

"Oops, Sorry Fluttershy."

Pinkie Pie said in a in a more quite voice.

"Oh my darning your filly looks so cute."

Rarity said in a cute little voice. 

"Yeah she does look- wait she looks like Lighten Flame."

Rainbow Dash said in an agreement voice at first but until turned into a worried voice. All six ponies looks at the little filly in her hooves. 

"Flutters what are you going to name the filly?"

"Scootaloo."

Fluttershy said in a quite voice

"Huh?"

The 5 ponies said to Fluttershy said at the same time.

"Scootaloo. Her name is Scootaloo."

Fluttershy said her filly's name. She looked at her and her purple eyes looked back.

"I-I don't want Scootaloo get hurt or even murder. I have no chose but to give her to the orphanage."

"But Fluttershy are you sure you want this. I mean she wont know that you are her mother."

Twilight said to Fluttershy trying to make her change her mind. Fluttershy shock her head no.

"Sugar cube are you really sure?"

"I'm sorry Twilight, Applejack. I rather have Scootaloo not know that I am her mother then her getting killed by her fath- I mean Lighten."

All of the ponies nodded knowing that there is noway to change you mind.





It was 9:30 pm when Fluttershy got to Ponyville Orphanage. Scootaloo was in a basket with blankets around her. Fluttershy knocks on the door, and a mare earth pony answered the door. To the pony surprise to see Fluttershy with her newborn filly.

"Fluttershy? What are you doing here at this late of hour? Are you here to adopt a filly or foul?"

Fluttershy shock her head no.

"M-May I come i-in?''   

Fluttershy said in a sad voice. The mare nods and let Fluttershy in. Once in the mare lead Fluttershy to the main office. 

"What is the matter Fluttershy?"

"I-I am h-here t-to keep m-my filly h-here."

The words were hard to come out of Fluttershy's mouth. The mare was surprise that Fluttershy want to give away her newborn filly.

"Fluttershy, why are you doing this for a filly that young?

"To protect her from Lighten Flame."

"You mean the stallion that is in jail."

"Yes. He said he'll kill her when he gets out. I don't want her to die. Also please don't tell you I am her mother."

The mare nods and looks at the little filly who is sleeping happily. 

"What is her name?"

"Her name is Scootaloo. Please take good care of her."

The mare nods again and picks up the basket that has the filly and want to put her into a crib. 

"I am so sorry, my little Scootaloo. I hope you can forgive me one day."

Fluttershy said to herself and runs out the door.
