A Night At The Cinema

Two mares exited the Golden Oaks Library, and proceeded to walk down the street. One was a alicorn with a light purple coat and a dark blue mane with a stripe of pink, the other was a pegasus with a cerulean coat and a mane that flowed with every color of the rainbow, the two mares names were Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash.

Twilight turned turned her head to her marefriend, Rainbow Dash, "So what movie are we going to see?" she asked.

"I'm taking you to the opening night of the new Daring Do movie," She said, turning her head to look into Twilight's eyes.

"Oh, I hope they don't stray to far from the book, I hate it when the movie is barely similar to the book," Twilight said, letting out a huff.

"I'm sure they did a good job with it," she said to Twilight.

"They better, or else they'll be receiving a very stern letter," Twilight stated, a stern look on her face while Rainbow just let out a laugh.

The two continued on their way to the theater, talking about the events that each had experienced that day.

"- And so I came in second, but at least nun of those cheaters came anywhere close to wing, and Derpy deserves a chance in the spotlight to." Rainbow said, finishing up her story.

Twilight let a smile grace her features as the story was finished and they entered the theater, "You know, you've gotten a lot less competitive since we started Dating," she noted.

"Well what can I say, I've already got the best prize I can think of," she said looking at Twilight with her cocky grin, who then let out a soft giggle and lightly shoved Rainbow with a hoof.

Having arrived early (thanks to Twilight), There was only a few ponies in the theater, most of which worked there. Twilight and Rainbow Dash Walked up to the counter where a younger mare was was standing, obviously board with her job.

"If you're here to see the Daring Do Movie it's all sold out," She told them without even looking up.

"Actually I came by here a few days ago and made sure to reserve two tickets, they should be marked with R.D," Rainbow Dash replied to her.

"Oh, that's you..." she trailed off as she looked up at the two of them, before going down into a bow, "Princess Twilight, I'm sorry for being rude."

At that Twilight let out a groan, "It's fine, Really, you don't have to bow..." she told the mare a she got up.

"Oh, um, of coarse, Sorry, well the theater you're looking for is just over there," she pointed her hoof down a hall way to their right, "Uh, Would the tow of you like anything?" she asked.

"Yeah, We'll get one large popcorn and two medium Sparkle-Cola's," Rainbow said to the mare.

The mare quickly went about getting their Drinks and food and handed it over to them, "here you go."

"How much will that be?" Twilight asked taking out her bit bag.

"Oh, don't worry about it, it's on the house," she said with a smile.

"Wow, tha-" Rainbow started, before being cut off by Twilight.

"You don't have to do that, we don't mind paying."

"Oh no, I insist," the mare said, with a dismissive wave of her hoof.

"And I insist that I pay, now how much will it be?" Twilight told the mare, obviously getting annoyed.

"O-okay, that's two-" she started before seeing the death glare on Twilight's face, "- thirteen bit's" she corrected with a smile.

Twilight sucked in a breath of air and released it with a sigh, "Thank you, I just don't like getting special treatment just because I'm a princess now," she took out the bit's and levitated them over to the mare.

"I-it's no problem, enjoy your movie," she said waving them off.

With two quick thank you's, The two of them started walking off in the direction of the theater, Twilight carrying their food and drinks in her lavender aura.

Rainbow Dash looked at Twilight, "Couldn't you have just let us get some free food, the food here is always over priced?"

"I don't want ponies trying to get on my good side just because I'm a princess, it doesn't feel right," Twilight looked at the ground, a sad look on her face, "like all they see is the title."

"Then they're stupid, The only thing those wing did to you was make you sexier, You've always been an awesome mare Twilight, but you've got to adjust to being a Princess now, and you can be sure I'll be there to help you every step of the way," Rainbow told her, putting a foreleg around Twilight's shoulder.

"Thank you Rainbow, and you're right, it's just going to take some time to get there," She turned her head to smile at Rainbow Dash, who was Smiling back at her.

"Tickets please,"

The two of them looked forward to see a stallion standing at the entrance to the hallway, a pleasant smile on his face.

"Oh, yeah here," Rainbow said, hoofing the tickets over to him.

He looked at the tickets for a moment before ripping part of them off and giving the stubs back to Rainbow dash, Then pointed down the hall at an open door way with a large number four above it, "You're in theater four."

"Thanks," Rainbow said as they walked past him. They entered the theater and found two seats In the middle of the theater, about half way up, only a few other ponies were in the room.

They sat in silence, waiting as more and more ponies filled the room, and before long the lights dimmed, the audience quieted, and the projector shined its light on the screen, showing a large jungle, with a dark khaki coated pegasus with a mane showing different shades of gray, wearing a dark olivine vest and a pith helmet, and the title, The Daring Do Movie, Faded in on the screen.

Twilight turned her head and smiled at Rainbow Dash, who had just done the same and they shared a smile, they then turned back to watch the film.

Daring Do crawled though a tight, dark passage, cob webs hanging down in front of her face, and moss growing on the stone walls surrounding her. She was closing in on the end of the small tunnel, more and more light flooding in, Daring Do reached the end of the tunnel and peered out into the room that layed there.

Old crumbling pillars stood on either side of the room, from the main door on the far side, to the large platform underneath the tunnel Daring Do was in, Bellow her on the platform was a small pedestal with a golden helmet resting atop it.

Daring looked down on the helmet and smiled, " I've finally found it," she whispered to her self.

There was a slamming sound on the other side of the room, looking up Daring saw a strange combination of a dog and an ape with a hand like appendage on the end of its tail, it was various shades of blue and wearing some juilary, and was accompanied by several large predatory cats and one small wight and fluffy house cat.

Ahuizotl strode into the room, his eyes locked on to the Helmet, a smirk creeping across his face, before he let out a short, but menacing laugh, "Finally, The Helm of Control will be mine!" He shouted to the mostly empty room.

"Oh really?" Daring Do said, drawing his attention up to her, before she lept out of the cramped tunnel and swooped down to the Helmet, "If this is what you want then I'm sorry, but this is going straight to the museum, and you're getting left in the dust agaaaaaaaiiiiiiin the last syllable stretching out and the voice getting deeper and deeper before-

A loud screeching sound began to wail from the speakers, forcing everypony in the theater to cover their ears, Twilight casting a sound dampening field over herself and all the ponies around her. The image on the screen started to flicker and warp, before the screen went dark completely.

"What the hay is happening?!" Rainbow Dash asked to nopony in particular, as the sound started to die off.

The male voice of a technician boomed over the speakers, "Uhm, sorry about this, but the projector seems to have broken, we're not going to be able to finish the showing of the movie, again we're sorry about this and of you head out to the front desk you will get your tickets fully refunded, we're sorry for the inconvenience." he said, before a short burst of static signaled the end of his little speech.

"What?! they can't just kick us not before the movie is finished, that's not fare!" Rainbow argued up to the projector both.

"It's not their fault, Rainbow," Twilight said, jestering up to the both, "the projector broke, it's not like they can fix it very quickly. At least we get our bits back."

"Well, isn't there some way for us to finish the movie?" Rainbow asked.

Twilight brought a hoof up to her chin in thought, "They might have a copy of the movie somewhere in the theater, but there's no way they'd let us borrow it."

"Well... I don't know, what if we don't tell them we're borrowing it?"

Twilight just stared at Rainbow for a moment, her brain processing what she had just said, "Are... are you suggesting we steal it?"

"No, I'm just saying that we should borrow it then return it before they notice it's gone."

"I- no, Rainbow we can't do that!"

"Aw, Come on Twi, for me?" Rainbow asked, her trade marked cocky grin on her face.

Twilight looked at Rainbow for a moment, contemplating what she had said, "Oh fine, but only because I know you'd do it even if I said I wouldn't," She said, a smile creeping on to her face.

"Okay, now what's the plan?" Rainbow asked.

"... This was your idea, why don't you make the plan?"

"Because you're the egghead in this relationship, Remember," She said, tapping Twilight on the head.

Twilight looked at her for a moment before letting out an annoyed sigh, "If they have it, it should be somewhere in the employes only area."

"Okay, how do we get there?"

"We go through the door marked, 'employees only'."

"Yeah, and where's that?" rainbow asked, spinning one of her hoofs in little circles.

"I don't know, Probably somewhere in the main room, or one of the halls."

"Well then let's go look for it."

"Wait, I know a spell that will make it harder to notice us," Twilight said, her horn starting to glow.

"Oh, cool."

"Okay, we'll have to stay in close proximity to each other or the spell will break," Twilight said as she cast the spell over them.

After the spell was complete Rainbow lifted one of her hooves up and looked at it, "We don't look any different," she said.

"It doesn't change how we look, it just, filters us out of anypony how looks at us minds, making us where nopony wants to look. Does that make sense?" Twilight tried to explain.

"Yeah, I guess so." Rainbow put her hoof back on the ground and looked over at Twilight, a grin on her face, "Well let's do this."

It only took a few minutes for them to find the correct door and sneak through it, where they found a small hallway leading to the left and right, a small sign hung on the wall, pointing left it said, "employe lounge" to the right it said, "storage", they turned right and continued down the hallway.

When they reached the end of the hall the were greeted by three doors, one to their right, one to the left and one in front of them.

"Okay, We'll find it faster if we split up," Rainbow Dash whispered, "You take the door on the left, I'll take the door in the middle and if neither of us find it we'll regroup and go into the last one together, hows that sound?"

"If it will help us get through this faster, I'll go with it," Came the answer from Twilight.

"Kay, see ya in a few," Rainbow said as she approached her door.

Rainbow pushed on the door; it's well-oiled hinges making no sound. The door opened into a cluttered room with at least thirty boxes in no order around the edges and smaller objects around the floor. In the center of the room, a tall earth pony stallion sept in a chair. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a shield shaped badge pinned to it and the words 'security' stitched below it.

Looks like I'll have to be really quite here, can't risk waking him up, she thought to herself.

Agonizingly slowly, Rainbow creeped into the room, carefully choosing where to put her hooves to making sure the floor didn't creek.

Once she reached the first box she opened it and looked through it, not finding anything of use, she continued on to the next box, Rainbow repeated this process for the next ten minutes before opening a box and finding what she had been looking for resting on top.

"Yes," she whispered to herself, picking it up and inspecting it closer.

Holding the case under her wing, Rainbow turned back to the door and stared the slow process of exiting the room.

The stallion coughed in his sleep, causing Rainbow to turn her head to face him, as she stepped down on a stray peace of paper, she slipped fell to the ground, marked by a loud thud.

The stallion jerked up in his chair, quickly shaking sleep from his eyes, before he looked over at what had made the sound, seeing a mare lying there holding on to the copy of the Daring Do movie He Quickly leapt into action, yelling, "Hey, you're not supposed to be in here!" as he raced towards her.

Acting quickly, Rainbow picked up the movie in her mouth, and with a flap of her wings she sped out of the room, slamming the door behind her, and made her way into the room that Twilight was in, closing the door and bracing her back against it.

"What's wrong!?" Twilight asked as she looked at Rainbow.

"A Guard saw me, but I got the movie," She thought for a moment before looking at Twilight, "You need to take the movie and Teleport out of here."

"I can get us both out of here," She said as she approached Rainbow, her horn starting to glow.

"No, the guard saw me, so he'll know who to look for, but they haven't seen you, so you can get out of here with this," She said, handing the movie over to Twilight.

"But what about you?! I can't just lea-" She was cut off as Rainbow reached out and pulled her into a deep kiss. The two of them were momentarily lost in each other, Time seemed to stop for them as if there was nothing else that mattered.

They were pulled out of the trance, when something banged loudly into the door, a male voice shouted at them from the other side, "I know you're in there, come on out quietly!"

"See ya later, Twi," Rainbow said with a smile.

"See you soon," Twilight said, before a Flash of violet light consumed her and she was gone.

Taking a deep breath, Rainbow stepped away from the door and turned to look at it, as it burst open.

"Hi," She said, Greeting the stallion.
