Belle and Ava walked around the lab trying to find the others. They searched in almost every room, but finally found that they were in the snorunt room. They opened the door and a sudden chilly blast of cold wind blew on them. Ava was shaking from intense cold. Sweetie quickly took her jacket off. She then covered the eevee in the warm cloth.
"There...you..go...Avaaaaa... Burgh...It's....so...cold....in....here," Belle said as she was shivering rapidly.
Ava then used her paw to point to a coat rack with a large winter coat. Sweeite then quickly grabbed it and put it on.
"Much...better.. Thanks Ava..'
Ava smiled to the young girl. The two then entered the room and found the others observing the ice type pokemon.
"Hey! Guys!." Belle shouted.
The group turned around.
"Hey! It's Belle!," said Bloom.
The two little ones ran to their friend.
"So is that the eevee you wanted to see Belle?" asked Scootaloo as she pointed to it.
Sweetie nodded to her friends, and then the rest of group came over to her.
"So I see you have found your partner haven't you Belle?," asked Luna.
Sweetie Belle replied, "I have Professor, and if it is alright may I take Ava with me?"
"Of course you can child. Now, that you two have been connected by a bond, there is no separating you two. Come on everyone. Let's head to the central lab so we can continue with Belle's trainer registration. Follow me please."
They then walked over to the lab, and the two professors unlocked the door. Once it opened they saw three pokemon on the table.
"Dusk, Dawn, and Spike there you all are. You had us worried sick," said Twilight as she walked up to the pokemon.
Dusk, Dawn, and Spike ran to their trainers and jumped into their arms.
"Well now that problem is over with, why don't we give Sweetie some presents sister?," Luna asked.
Celestia responded."I agree. Belle Mclane step forward."
Sweetie did as she said. Ava jumped out of her arms while Sweetie stepped towards the professors. The sisters then took out a box wrapped in a pink bow. Luna then gave it to the young Mclane.
"Come on dear open it!" said her mother.
"Ok. Let's see....," said Sweetie as she began to open the box.
Inside were some pokeballs, a light pink pokedex, and a trainer ID card. Sweetie took them out one and a time, placing them on the table.
"These items Belle are very important. You of course know what pokeballs are. Do you need a demonstration on how to use one?," Twilight said.
Belle responded, "I already know how. I have watched Rarity and AJ do it tons of time before. Thanks for the offer though Twilight."
Sweetie Belle put the balls in her backpack. Twi then pulled out the pokedex.
"This pokedex is a mini encyclopedia for pokemon. Just open it up and put it in front of a pokemon you want to know about. Ok, so why don't you try."
Sweetie was handed the device from Twilight. She then opened the dex while holding it up to Ava.
"Eevee the Evolution Pokemon, thanks to its unstable genetic makeup, this special Pokémon conceals many different possible evolutions." the pokedex said.
"Wow!" gasped Belle. "This is so cool! Let's try it out on Spike!"
She moved the device in front of the small gible.
It then said,"Gible the Land Shark pokemon. It attacks using its huge mouth. While its attacks are powerful, it hurts itself out of clumsiness, too."
"Now for Dusk!," said a happy Belle.
"Umbreon the Moonlight pokemon. When exposed to the moon's aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and Umbreon is filled with a mysterious power." said the dex..
Sweetie then went in front of Dawn.
"Espeon the Sun pokemon. Its fur has the look and feel of velvet. The orb on its forehead glows when it uses psycho-power."
"This thing is so cool. Thank you all so much!," Sweetie said.
The sisters replied,"You're welcome!"
"Now it's time to give you your trainer ID. You will need to keep this on you at all times because you will need it in order to compete in specific events such as pokemon contests, tournaments, or gym challenges. So take good care of it.," explained Celestia.
Sweetie put it in her bag. The professors then said,"One more thing."
"Rainbow, Rarity, I think WE know what's coming don't we gals?," said AJ.
They nodded and said,"Mhmm."
"You must complete one task before you leave this place.," said Luna.
"What...exactly...is..it Professor?," Sweetie asked.
Celestia answered, "Your first battle."
"What? My first pokemon battle? Here? NOW!?"
"Yes. It's a sort of tradition we have here in Pokeville. You were too small to remember when I battled Rarity all those years ago. It was a amazing performance wasn't it Luna?"
Luna nodded. The sister then said,"It was sister. I just hope that Belle's first battle will be JUST as amazing. Now, young one which of us do you want to battle against?"
"I get to choose?," Belle asked.
"Yes. So who will it be my sister or me?"
"Could you give me a minute to think it over professors?"
"Of course take all the time you need. Sister let us go set up the battlefield outside."
Celestia nodded, and the two left the room with Twilight following them close behind.
"Wow! We get to witness your first battle! That's totally awesome!," said Scootaloo.
"I'm so excited yall! This is going to be amazing. Hey! What moves does Ava know Belle?," said Bloom..
A confused Belle answered," I don't know actually. Is there a way I could find out Rarity?"
Her sister walked over to Belle, yet quickly grabbed the pokedex while Belle didn't notice. Rarity then opened it up because she wanted to set up the scanning feature of the device. Belle just then noticed that her dex was missing, and then saw Rarity using it.
She then said,"Rariy! Why did you take my pokedex?"
"Because I wanted to show you a useful feature of the pokedex. Could I see Ava for a moment?"
"Sure."
Sweetie picked the eevee up and placed her on the table. Rarity then scanned her. The dex started talking again.
"Eevee knows the moves Tackle, Sand Attack, and Shadow Ball," the device said.
"Wow!," the young kids said in awe.
"That is so cool. Ava already knows shadow ball. So Awesome!," commented Scootaloo.
"I reckon that this will be an exciting day just like when we had our first battle Rainbow.," said AJ.
Rainbow responded, "Yea. Tank and I were in sync when battling Dawn and he learned how to use rapid spin too. That was a day I will never forget. Say AJ why don't we have a battle sometime so we can see how far we have come?"
"Alright sounds good. You just name the place and time."
"It's a deal."
The two shook hands.
"I think you should battle Dawn dear.," said Mr.Mclane.
"Why is that dad?," asked Sweetie Belle.
"Well Dawn is a psychic type pokemon. Ava's shadow ball move is super effective against Dawn. It's a good match for you."
"I guess, but you know what I want to battle Dusk instead!"
"What!?"
"I don't want my first battle to be easy. If I'm going to be a great trainer someday, I have to challenge myself. Yep, I have made up my mind, and there is no going back!"
"Alright dear if that's what you want. I can't stop you."
The two professors and Twilight came back in.
"So have you made your decision?" Professor Luna asked.
"I have." replied Belle.
"I guess you want to battle my sister then since your Ava will have the edge because of it's ghost type move shadow ball?"
"Actually....no."
"Huh?"
"I want to battle YOU Luna."
"You do? Well....I'm..quite..shocked by your choice."
"Why? Don't new trainers pick YOU sometimes?"
"Not as often as you would think. Most new trainers pokemon choose my sister because they normally have the advantage. Few pokemon that we raise here at the lab have the edge on dark types like my umbreon. I'm just shocked that's all, but am grateful that you choose the harder battle. So Belle Mclane, you are on! Come this way so the fun of battling can begin!"
RD then said,"This battle is going to be...oh what's the word?"
"Epic!" said her sister Scootaloo.
"Yea Epic. You always know what I want to say squirt."
Scootaloo then whispered, "Don't call me squirt in front of my friends. It's so un-COOL sis."
RD then gave the girl a noogie.
"I'm just messing with you sis. Come on let's go." said RD.
The grouped headed to a vacant area of the labratory. Luna was on the left side, and Belle was on the right. Twilight was the referee, and the rest of them were on the sidelines.
Twi then started to speak,"Alright everyone, the battle between Professor Luna from Canterlot and Belle Mclane from Pokeville will now begin. Each side will use one pokemon. The battle will be over when one side's pokemon is unable to continue. Alright battle begin!"
Luna shouted,"Alright Dusk let's start the fun!" as she threw her pokeball.
Dusk flip 2 times before landing on the field. It then cried out,"Ummmmbreee!"
"Dusk sure look's strong, but I know you can beat him. Ava it's your time in the spotlight!" said Belle.
She then threw Ava's poke ball, but Ava went crashing down once it got out of the ball.
A concerned Sweetie Belle then said, "Are you alright Ava?!"
The tough pokemon got up quickly while saying,"Veeeee!"
"Great Ava!," Sweetie said.
"Wow. That eevee is sure a tough one.," Celestia commented.
Twilight then said, "But let's just see HOW tough."
"You have the first move Belle."
"Alright then. Ugh...Ava use tackle!"
Ava charged using tackle. Dusk just stood there watching Ava.
Luna thought, Impressive speed for such a tiny pokemon, but I know JUST the way to counter it."
"Stand there and take it!"
"What!?." the spectators gasped.
Ava's tackle attack hits it's mark. Dusk got pushed back while still standing, but got damaged by the attack.
"Great Ava!" Belle said.
Ava said while jumping up and down,"Eevee! Eevee!"
"It's too early to be celebrating you two. Let's just show you some real POWER! Dusk payback let's go!"
Dusk started to glow a bright purple while energy balls of purple surrounded him.
"Professor what does payback do?," asked Bloom.
She responded "Whenever you take damage from an attack, this attack takes that damage and fires it back at the opponent with DOUBLE the strength."
"Wow that's going to hurt unless Belle does something." said Scootaloo.
"Fire the payback Dusk!" shouted Luna.
Look's like things are really heating up. Will Ava be able to survive this powerful attack? And will Belle be able to defeat Professor Luna? Find out as the story continues in the next chapter.
