Kingdom Hearts of Harmony: The Other Side

Prologue:Always More Then One Story

Warning! Warning! Approaching planet destination! I repeat! Approaching planet destination! Prepare for entry!

The sound of the alarm awoke the only occupant of the small ship out of his slumber. With tired blue-green eyes he gave his surroundings a once over before running his fingers through his sliver locks. After a moment to recollect his thoughts, the boy shifted his hand in front of his face before sighing deeply. He threw his gaze towards the window in front of him, the planet becoming bigger and bigger the longer his ship approached it.

The silvered haired boy closed his eyes, gazing at the flection in front of him.

“Are you out of your mind!?”

Riku cringed, despite not being the one being yelled at. He looked over the rather short mouse that stood in defiance to the much taller and, admittedly, more opposing looking wizard. Both, while different in everything about each other, held an air of both power and superiority that seems to completely dwarf the newly appointed Keyblade Master.

“No. I am not out of mind Master Yin Sid.” The mouse said in an even, yet dangerously bitter tone that, despite his high pitched voice, was on equal tone with the wizard before him. “We need Sora combat ready as soon as possible. The mission that he was sent on will not only help him in the long run of things but also strengthen the resolve he’s losing ever since he's been confined on that island. It’s a judgment call that I believe that was the correct one.”

“But to send him on such a difficult mission in the state that he is in?!” Yin Sid drew back in his chair sighing deeply. “It was a fool’s decision King Mickey.”

“I believe in Sora.” The mouse said as he crossed his arms. “I know you can feel the heartless seeping through to that world at an alarming rate now.”

“Once again, in the state that he is in he may very well cause the end of that very world you are trying to save Mickey.” Yin Sid shook his head as he sighed softly. “I am sorry old friend but I am sending Riku to retrieve him and that is final.”

“Master!!” The mouse called out as Yin Sid turned to walk out the room, Riku, after giving Mickey a backwards glace, turned away to follow after the old wizard. Not a word was uttered until they were well away from the mouse, Riku being the one to break the frigid silence.

“Master Yin Sid. Think I can speak openly?”

“You have free will you know, and we are equals after all Master Riku.” The old wizard said with a wave of his hand.

“Master…Is it so bad for Sora to go on this mission? I mean…It might give him a chance to clear his head.”

“Or a chance to doom a world detrimental in our war against the Darkness.” Yin Sid rebutted.

“Master, I know Sora has been…well…out of it of sort, part if not all of that is due to me, but I still think that Sora is capable of what he has to do to help everyone.”

Yin Sid stopped before turning to face him. “He nearly lost himself to the darkness the last mission he was on Riku. What’s to say it won’t do so again?”

“He did so to protect those around him!” Riku defended.

“It does not matter the reason, we nearly lost a key element for the final battle to take place. Despite him not being a chosen like the rest he still is able to wield a keyblade better most I have seen in my days as a wielder myself. If he was to lose his heart to the darkness then…”

“Then I won’t let him!” Riku said. “That world needs to be saved right? Then let me help him.”

Yin Sid looked towards the silver haired youth. “You do know…that you might be the last person he wants to see right now?”

“Doesn’t matter. We’re friends before anything else. I won’t let him suffer alone, no matter how much he hates me. Besides, he would do the same for me.”

The Wizard looked towards Riku, the determination within the boy’s eyes reaching a fiery point. With a heavy sigh Yin Sid turned away before muttering “Fine…Do as you wish.” As he walked down the pathway the old wizard began to mutter quietly to himself, most of which Riku couldn’t catch a word of.

Riku sighed before turning to look out a window beside him. “Sorry Sora. But I’m helping you out no matter how you feel about me…” He said before turning to walk back down the hall.

Riku sighed at the memory as he let his gaze fall upon the planet below. “Just don’t mess things up too much Sora.” He said with a soft chuckle. “Can’t clean up all of your messes.”

Equestria

????

“This…Is weird…”

Riku couldn’t help but make that comment after stepping out of the hidden gummy ship. The clop of his new hooves hitting the rocky terrain making his new ears twitch every so often. The keyblade master sat down as he allowed his gaze to flow over his body, his observation falling onto every inch of the new form that his clothes had seen fit to give to him.

Thick light gray fur covered his now (If he was guessing right) equine body. That in itself, for the most part, felt a little strange to him. Though he had to admit, it was much better then what he had become in that animal forest world. A world that he will never speak of again as long as he could help it. At least he had a pair of pretty cool bat wings to go along with his new form. A different take on a pegasus as it were. Plus he wasn’t completely necked, what with his tan jacket and black undershirt covering the top part of his toresore.

He deiced that while this form is…strange, it could have been a whole lot, worse. Though he did think that he could have done without the butt mark on his backsides, even if it was the mark of a Keyblade Master. The long mane as well, though he had to question that one a bit. He thought for sure that Kairi cut it before she had left on her own mission with Donald and Goofy.

“Right…Enough fooling around. I need to find out where Sora is.” Picking a random direction to go, the Keyblade Master began his first steps in the latest chapter of his newest journey through the unknown world of Equestira. With head held high and adventure in his heart, he would find his childhood friend no matter what.

Or he would…If he wasn’t in the middle of getting promptly tacked from the side by a rather fast and concrete force.

Both Riku and his assailant grunted in a mix of both pain and surprise as they tumbled upon the hard, rocky ground below them, stopping only when Riku's back hit the ground with a solid thud. The feeling of some landing on top of him at the end of it caused Riku to get the wind knocked out of his lungs. It didn’t seem that the one on top of him faired any better, as he could hear groans of displeasure coming from his side, where he knew their head would lay.

Slowly, the one that had bull dozed him would try to pick themselves up, both his and their own eyes meeting for the first time as soon as they did so.

If he was being honest with himself, he didn’t quite expect to see what he had seen.

It…Or well…She seemed to be an equine much like himself though her features seemed so much thinner and…Well…Feminine. Her delicate ivory face was framed by a dark aquamarine mane. Her eyes glittered with both confusion and fear as to what lay underneath her, rather sharp teeth protruding from her mouth. A horn came from on top of her forehead, though it curved and twisted back and forth. She was wearing some kind of bright green…Something that covered her back. The most odd of all however where her leg, more than a few holes seemingly carved out from them.

Both Riku and odd black creature stared at each other for a long while, neither willing to make the first move. That changed however as the black equine’s head quickly shifted behind herself, a renewed look off fear crossing her features. She pushed herself off of Riku, moving into a quick gallop that only lasted less than a second. She seemed to trip and fall, a sharp yelp of pain escaping her as she did so. Riku observed her look behind herself at one of her hind legs, the base of which seemed slightly swollen and had of a dark purple color to it.

Riku stood up, a question on his lip but soon stopped in his tracks, his gaze falling to movement in the shadows of the landscape. Not too far off, those same shadows would slowly rise from the earth, foming into beings not unlike the Shadow Heartless he had fought dozens of times before. Though, from some reason, they had a more equine appearance then the usual variety. Slowly but surely more and more of the equine heartless began to show themselves, efficiently surrounding both he and the dark creature behind him.

Riku could only smile as he moved to stand above the fallen creature , effectively standing guard over her, much to her confusion.

“Right…Time for me to get to work.” He looked down at the black fanged equine. “Better stay still. It’s my first day here and I’ll need someone to help me out after I clear these jokers.”

The one below him could only nod slowly as he turned to face the heartless that was closing in on the pair.

“Alright then. Why don’t you wise guys at least pretend to put up a challenge for me. Need to good workout to test this new body after all.”

The keyblade master could only chuckle as he raised his hoof, lightning crackling at the fetlock, as the heartless began to bare down upon them both.
