//------------------------------// // Season 2 Celestial Secrets and the Summoning // Story: Raze's Journey // by Roarin Thunder //------------------------------// In a mountain range to the northeast of Canterlot, a large waterfall emptied into the earth, seemingly falling from the heavens themselves. A large lake, filled to the brim with this water, flowed into a river out to sea. It’s here that we find the antagonist currently residing. Mythic had teleported from one area to the next, trying to make sure that he had actually gotten away from that behemoth. His power, depleted due to constant teleportation, would need to recharge. He found a cave to hide in underneath the falls that would assure him tranquility as his strength returned. The water fell to the front of the cave with a soothing crashing sound that Mythic enjoyed thoroughly. His mind slowly recessed so that he could sleep while consistently recharging his strength. ‘It was… perfect… Despite the minor fall out… I have won…’ His thoughts stuck with that as a final victory. ~In Canterlot~ Raze slowly opened his eyes. He looked around only to find everything was blurry, so he tried to rub his eyes but felt something soft against his left arm as he attempted to moved it. He moved his right arm and found it to be mobile. While rubbing the sleep and blurriness, he heard a gasp from his left side. “He’s awake!” He found his vision encompassed by gray fur and forelegs hugging him as he moved to sit up. Raze knew it was Derpy at this point. “Yeah, I’m awake!” he said. The Doctor trotted over as Derpy finally let go. “You’ve been out for quite a while there, Raze. I’ve got to wonder what Mythic did…” He trailed off. Raze thought back to Fhaze suddenly reappearing and shook his head, “I don’t know, but he got away…” Raze frowned while acknowledging his failure. Discord looked up from where he lay beside the late Princess Celestia. He seemed to have been crying all the while. Twilight and Octavia looked unsure of what to do with him. “Did you manage to kill him?!” Discord exclaimed to Raze. “Well, no I-” Raze said as Discord stopped him by popping up in front of him. “You have to kill him! He must suffer for his actions! Go back and find him, Raze!” Discord yelled as Raze slowly shook his head. “He got away… Sorry, Discord…” Raze trailed off as Discord turned away with anger evident upon his face. The Doctor stepped up, “Don’t be angry at Raze for something that was beyond his own control. We have other things to worry about at the moment anyway,” he finished while looking over to Celestia’s body. Twilight nodded, “Actually, Celestia wanted you to know something, Raze.” Raze tilted his head in confusion, “Know what?” “She told me that she had found some items called, ‘Dragon Balls’. She also said that you’d know what to do with them,” Twilight said quickly. “The Dragon Balls are here?!” Discord jumped up and appeared beside Twilight in seconds. “Why did you not say so?!” Discord exclaimed to which Twilight jumped back. “She told me to tell, Ra-” Discord gripped her front forelegs. “Whatever! Doesn’t matter now! We can bring Celestia back and still have an extra wish! By Chaos, Mythic never won!” Discord exclaimed while moving around in a circle with Twilight flying around everywhere. “Well, aren’t the Dragon Balls a myth?” Raze asked while trying to remember what the books written by Son Gohan had said. “No! Not at all! Gohan hid the knowledge so nobody would use them, yet people eventually found them anyway!” Discord said while putting a confused and dizzy Twilight down. “So then?” Raze started. “We have two wishes! Anything we want! We can bring back all the innocents who died by Mythic. With the second one, we could do anything!” Discord stated with a large toothy grin. “Well, what are we waiting for?! Let’s go get them! Did she tell you how to find them, Twilight?” Raze asked the Alicorn. “Uhhh… No,” Twilight said with small frown. Discord frowned, then smiled, then frowned again. “So, let me guess this straight. She says she has them, but never told you where she put them?” He questioned Twilight with a twitchy left eye. “HEY! Leave Twilight alone you big ole snake! Celestia couldn’t have said much if she wanted to!” Rainbow shouted at Discord. Discord moved back slightly in shock. “She didn’t tell you before she kicked the bucket?!” he cried. “No matter! I’ll find them with the help of Raze!” He turned to Raze, expecting backup on the situation. “Well, I’ll definitely help try to find them!” Raze quickly said as Octavia jumped up. “Knowing Celestia, she probably put them in her room. I will assist you both in finding them,” Octavia stated as Twilight smiled in thanks. “Okay, I’ll stay with Celestia. Just hurry up!” Twilight said while moving away from the Draconequus. The Doctor quickly joined the group, “We can speed up the process. If you want us there.” Derpy nodded as Octavia gave them a curt nod. “I don’t see any issues with this, let’s continue,” Octavia said while hurrying toward the hole in the castle. The rest of the gang followed her into the nearly ripped apart insides. ~Before Celestia’s Room~ The explosive fight had turned what was once double doors into a solitary one that hung on by a hinge. Raze ignored that one and stepped onto the already broken slab of wood that had hit the floor and brought cracks to the surface. “Wow, this took a beating!” Raze said while moving forward into the luxurious room. Octavia filed in afterward with the rest of them, “We’re not here to sightsee, only to get what we came for.” “I’m sure he understands the sentiment,” Discord bluntly told Octavia who frowned at the spirit. The Doctor trotted past them. “No need to start a quarrel! Save it for later, we’ve got things to do!” Raze moved around the room while looking all over the place. “Just a bunch of mirrors and dressers… Are any of you sure she’d hide them here?” Discord nodded. “She’s never been good at hiding things. Like keeping the Elements in a room with big doors was a smart idea.” Octavia narrowed her eyes whilst opening a door to reveal a luxurious bathroom. “Do not insult her, Discord. Or you can be sure to have a taste of my hoof.” “Look at the pony whinny,” Discord stated offhandedly. The Doctor was pulling random books from a resident bookshelf. A pile grew beside him steadily as he took more and more of them down. Derpy opened the curtains to provide a bit more light from the moon. “Well, if they’re not here. Where else would they be?” she asked. Discord looked around. “We should probably look for a long hall and big doors.” Octavia face hoofed and then shook it off. “I’m sure if we continue looking around here, we’ll eventually find them.” Raze walked along the side of the room. “There are so many books in here…” Octavia looked around the dressers that seemed be stacked with many piles of parchment. Upon opening the drawers she found many things, but nothing that would reveal the location of the Dragon Balls much to her chagrin. Discord teleported around the room randomly throwing parchment all over the place along with messing up everything else on his war path. His only prospect was making a large scale mess. Discord crossed his arms in frustration. “This is ridiculous, I wish this was like trying to find the Elements of Harmony. At least then we’d have a chance.” Raze started pulling out books. “Let’s just take everything off the shelves! Maybe something will happen.” Derpy landed down beside Raze and nearly got hit with a book. “I’ll go check a different shelf!” She galloped over to the next one and started pulling books. Pretty soon the rest of the group were pulling down books until large piles of them filled the floor of the room. The Doctor huffed a bit, “We’ve pulled all the books, there’s nothing left…” Sure enough, the shelves were completely barren. “This doesn’t make any sense! She never hides things this well! I’m honestly shocked!” Discord exclaimed while his hands floated away from his body. Octavia huffed a little, but kept slightly calm despite wanting to knock him out. “She is cryptic sometimes, maybe there’s a clue around here somewhere.” Raze walked over to the main fireplace and saw two statues along with many different pictures going up the main chamber. “What’s all this?” he wondered. He saw many pictures of a younger looking Celestia, Discord, and even Luna hanging on the wall. Most of the pictures had been painted at first, but then went to gray only for the most recent ones to be color. Raze put his right hand on a statue and leaned on it while looking down the wall of pictures. The statue’s head tumbled open as Raze lost his grip and stumbled over only to catch himself by floating with ki. After regaining his footing he looked over to see that the statue’s head opening had revealed a button. “Hey guys, I just found something!” Raze stated as everyone turned to him. Discord appeared from behind him and took a look at the button. “There’s no way that this could possibly be what we’re looking for…” He trailed off while pressing it himself just as the others joined the Draconequus and Saiyan. The fireplace began to shake and then slid upwards to reveal a long staircase leading down, seemingly lit by torches lining the walls a little ways in. The Doctor smirked. “Looks like we shouldn’t have bothered with those books after all. But now we have a new question. Who’s going down there first? I’ll volunteer if nobody feels up to it.” Discord shook his head. “I can try it myself!” Without waiting, He flew towards the opening. Within seconds he was sent flying backward by an invisible force. “Nothing will enter this place…” A voice trailed off slowly as smoke began to rush out of the supposed entrance to the hiding place of the Dragon Balls. The smoke began to form together to create a body that had a human-like torso and a large horse body beneath that. His four legs and arms were well toned and he seemed to be quite a strong looking individual. “I assume that Celestia has been beaten and that you are here to collect the items she summoned me to guard, is that right?” The Centaur asked them with an inquiring look upon his face. Octavia nodded. “Yes, now if you will allow us to do s-” A strong hoof smashed into the ground creating a large crushing noise as it went straight through the marble floor. “Silence! You will turn back, she told me explicitly that nobody is to pass through here! Only if you are to defeat me, will I ever move,” he growled. Discord appeared on the Centaur’s back. “That was very rude of you! You haven’t even told us your name and you threw me back! I demand an apology,” Discord demanded while crossing his arms. Immediately, he tried to grab Discord only to find that the Draconequus was nowhere near him. He now floated next to the group. Taking a second to process this, he finally found a response. “A name? Why would I give my name to such a worm?!” He roared back to Discord. “Because we have someone who’s more than capable of handling you. Right, Raze?!” Discord asked. Raze looked over at the Centaur. “Well, yeah! You do look pretty strong!” he said, sizing up the Centaur. The Centaur scratched his chin. “What are you supposed to be? What kind of name is, Raze?” Raze walked up to him. “A pretty good one!” he said. “Now, I think they asked you to move. So let them go, I’ll fight you instead!” He smirked down at the saiyan and started to chuckle, “Hehehe… You’re hilarious. Just look at you! You’re so small and brittle looking. Just move asi-” Raze grabbed his arm and threw him to the other side of the room where he crashed into Celestia’s bed. It broke apart upon contact with the four hundred pound musclebound Centaur. He was soon buried by the top of the bed falling down. Raze looked at the others and said, “Go on ahead, I’ve got this.” Derpy smiled and looked to the Doctor. “Well, you’re going first, right?” she asked him. “Yes, let’s hurry up!” The Doctor moved for the stairs quickly followed by Octavia, Discord, and Derpy. The pieces of the bed blasted aparted as the Centaur rose from the pile. “Maybe I misjudged you slightly.” “You haven’t even begun to do that yet!” Raze retorted while running toward the creature. He thrust his fist toward the creature only for it to be caught. “I’m not as weak as you may think, I was only off guard that first throw!” the Centaur said. Raze pushed himself up with his legs and delivered a swift kick that was caught by the second hand of the centaur. Raze was now at the mercy of the creature below. He let go of Raze’s fist and charged for the wall, holding Raze by one leg as he smashed him into the wall. The extreme force carried Raze into the next room. The wall lay crumbled to pieces while Raze was thrown to the other side of the room and then charged by the half-human beast. Raze got up a bit shakily due to the unexpected strength of the summoned opponent. “If you were wondering-” The Centaur started as Raze regained himself and smashed his foot into the marble, making sure to put just enough power into it in order for a piece of the floor to become a makeshift seesaw. The Centaur launched into the air as Raze flew up after him, delivering a barrage of punches to the creature and then slamming him into the floor with a jarring kick to the side. Raze landed soon after. “Care to finish that sentence?!” The Centaur got up and turned to face Raze quickly. “Yes, I do. After all, this facade is hard to keep up. I will tell you my name.” Raze frowned. “Does that really matter so much to you? After all, you’re supposed to be guarding things from us.” “To be honest, I’m not impartial to those trinkets she hid down there. I’m more indebted to an old friend. A wizard from long ago named, Starswirl. Oh, and on the subject of names. My name is, Scorpan,” he finished while walking toward Raze. Raze got on the defensive. “Are you really going to try and fight me still?” “Yes, because I haven’t left the badlands since this incident. I wish to stretch, and Princess Celestia offered me that with the promise of a villainous evil to deal with, yet you are not evil as I know. So, I am left with the only option,” Scorpan said while stopping before Raze. “Fight me? At least I’m guessing, but this turn of events doesn’t make any sense! And how are you so strong anyway?” Raze asked him. “You asked me why I am strong!? Well, the answer is obvious! You’re just weak!” Scorpan roared while scraping his hooves against the marble floors. Raze stepped back slightly. “We’ll see about that! Let’s finish this!” He ran toward Scorpan as he charged back in turn. “RAAAAAAAAHHHH!” Raze yelled as he pulled back his left fist. “RRRRRAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!” Scorpan roared as he pulled back his right fist. Both fists collided with explosive results as both fighters were sent flying away from each other. Raze crashed against the floor as did Scorpan. Scorpan pushed himself up slowly with his left arm and strong hooves. ‘My right arm feels like jelly… Urgh!’ Once he stood completely up, he felt his right arm shivering from the impacting blow. He gripped it as he heard a loud crashing noise in front of him. Raze was already back on his feet and ready for the next attack. “Get rea-” Raze heard Derpy’s voice call out and turned away from Scorpan. “We’ve got the Dragon Balls!” she exclaimed joyously. Scorpan looked to his right arm and then back at Raze. “We appear to have met an impasse, but I refuse to accept total defeat. I believe that we will have to continue another day, Raze.” Raze nodded, “I guess so…” He trailed off “Perfect, now if you two don’t mind. I’ve got a wish to make!” Discord stated while hefting a bag onto his back. Raze followed the group only to notice that Scorpan wasn’t moving. “Hey, why’re you just standing there?” He asked the centaur. “Because, I’ve done my task set forth. I’ll be leaving soon enough,” Scorpan finished. Raze prepared to walk back over to him only to be stopped by a gray hoof. “If Celestia thought you were important enough to be here, then you should come out of this castle with us. It’s what she would want, Scorpan,” Octavia said to the large Centaur. Scorpan looked down at the pony and then back to Raze. “Hmmmm… I suppose that I could join you all…” He trailed off while a smile dawned on Octavia’s face. “Then let’s go!” Raze exclaimed as they both joined him and followed the others out of the ruined castle. ~Outside~ Twilight laid beside Celestia’s body while rubbing the light pink mane with her right hoof. Luna’s tears had finally ceased, leaving dried stains below her eyes. Even the wind seemed to have stopped, leaving nothing but silence as their companion, almost as if mourning alongside them both. Twilight sighed, “maybe I should have been here with her before all this. If we had all teamed up, we could have stopped Mythic…” She trailed off as Luna shook her head. “We know for a fact that he was stronger than any enemy you’ve fought against before. Thou shouldst know that thou did the best We knew thou could. Our sister would agree,” Luna stated while watching Tia’s hair blow slightly with the wind. “What’s with all the sappiness, Luna?!” Exclaimed a new voice as Luna gritted her teeth and stared at the Draconequus before them. “Stop being so sad! We have a solution! She won’t be dead long!” Discord stated as he set down the bag and began to take out one orange orb out at a time. Soon, they were all next to each other in a very mixed fashion. The others walked up, but kept a little distance away as Discord watched the seven magical balls glow before him. “Arise, Shenron!” ~End of Chapter~
