Twilight paces in the back room of the Canterlot conference area pondering on what to say. She had been practicing with Spike over a series of days. She felt like she was ready and she called up the meeting. Now she isn't even sure anymore. Sure the trick Canadance had showed her to keep calm was doing its work, but its just that she can't really figure out how to actually get through this. Sure she'll have Spike right by her side. She always feels her best with Spike.
"Oh no no no... maybe I shouldn't have got them together for this..." Twilight says looking out the nearby window, "Maybe I can call this all off?"
But as fate would have it Spike walks into the room, "You okay Twilight? Everyone is waiting for you."
Twilight turns with a sad look on her face, "I don't know spike."
"What do you mean?" He says sitting down and wrapping an arm around her body.
"I don't know whether I should tell them or not," she says laying her head against his broaden chest, "I mean... how will they take the news? Or will it be the right time to actually tell them?"
"Twilight the sooner you tell them the easier this will be for you. Remember what happened when you were late to turn in your."
"Yes yes I remember that!" Twilight snaps before sighing remembering that particular crazy day.
Lately she's been having the craziest days. The day she told Spike about the news had to be one of the craziest. He went off and told their friends and bragged about how he was right the entire time. He made up for it with much needed services, but it was still a crazy day. She shakes her head enjoying the feeling of his scales against her.
"Alright.... I'll try."
Twilight and Spike rise and walk out to where they stand before the group of Alicorns, her mother, and her friends. Even though it was these few ponies and she's been talking to them for nearly all her life she figured something like this would be so easy. Celestia once had told her things like this would happen. You could study all you might on ruling the world, but once you do start that's when you learn that experience is the best type of studying. You'll never be prepared if you don't actually know what to do.
"Hello everyone. I know you don't know why I've called you all here, but its very important. Well I know my friends know because of one excited dragon." Spike sheepishly rubs the back of his head looking away from Twilight, "But no matter. I've come to bare you girls some very important news concerning us."
Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and her mother all perk their ears ready to hear while her friends all watch for their reaction. In fact a bet was placed between Applejack and Rainbowdash on Twilight's mother's reaction.
"I'm pregnant!"
Safe to say. Applejack won.
Twilight's mother rushes up to her and tackles her into a hug in a laughing fit, "Oh I knew you two could do it! You had to keep going at it and going at it and going at!"
"Mother please!" Twilight cries out from the crushing hug and embarrassment.
She never did understand why her mother took things to the extreme. Almost killing your daughter is not what Twilight had predicted to happen with her mother. Though it was a possibility.
Celestia and Luna looks at each other a bit worried. Canadance clops her hooves together for the two and shouts out congratulations. She walks over and gives her a lighter hug. Twilight friends cheer for Twilight as well as pass around bits that had been placed. Out of all of them Sweet innocent Fluttershy made the most.
A small party is let loose for the new addition as she reveals in the next room. But before she goes in Celstia and Luna take her to the side to discuss so matters of importance.
Spike enjoys the cider as Applejack and Rainbowdash go back and forth with their simple too much apple cider back and forth antics. Some of the times he just wants to yell kiss already. Rarity has agreed with him multiple times on that matter.
He also likes how loose everyone is with everyone. Usually he would still be kind of nervous to talk to everypony cause of what's all changed, but once everyone gets a little cider in them. The mood just kinds of melts away.
"You know. You have a forgetful kid." Rarity says taking elegant sips from her, "Doesn't even get you anything for fathers day."
Spike chuckles at this, "You're actually wrong Rarity. The best fathers day gift my child gave me is being inside of Twilight. I'm a damn proud father!"
Spike pumps is chest before taking another cup of Cider, "Honestly, I was so surprised to learn that she was pregnant. At the time we were eating breakfast and she laid it on me. I nearly chocked to death because of her."
Rarity chuckles at this and looks about her friends, "You know. My father felt the same way too. He was proud and is still proud of me. Don't you ever let your son or daughter be down. Or I'm coming after you. Remember that well."
Spike tries to laugh at the threat trying to consider it a playful joke but the seriousness in her tone... He rather not take his chance.
"Any way Spikey just remember to love your daughter or son and Twilight always. Never let them go okay?"
Spike looks at Rarity curiously, "What's got you in a high and mighty attitude."
"It's just that. I never expected Twilight to get so far ahead of me. I don't want to see her messed up. I want to be as happy as her one day, but I don't know where to begin. I've had so many boyfriends that its a miracle I'm not pregnant with one of their children."
She shakes her head and cheers up a bit, "But this isn't about me. Enjoy your time with everyone Spike cause you have some days ahead of you."
Spike takes a mental note to tell Twilgiht, "Alright Rares try not to get to drunk. You get weird when you do."
Rarity snorts, "I am an elegant drunk!"
Spike shrugs his shoulders, "What ever you says Rarity."
With that the new found father takes to the floor with his new cup of Cider and checks on everone else. Eventually Twilight and the princesses join them their moods a little bit damper than everyone else, but soon everyone is having a good time. And the day is added to another great fathers day.
