//------------------------------// // Kain Shonus and the origins. // Story: War of Origins. // by MegaMonsterPony //------------------------------// The next day my alarm clock went off extremely early, before the sun rose above the horizon. After drinking some orange juice with a small shot of vodka I happily dressed and sped out of my house. Some of the undesirable ponies were still out, going home from some rave or gangbang or something along those lines. I strolled past them, having to physically push a few of the out of my way. The long trek was peaceful and chilly even though I had my leather jacket on, once I arrived at the cave I retrieved my flashlight and stepped through the vines. The cave seemed less gloomy today, almost as if there was more life lurking in its depths. The area became warmer once I crossed into the room with the rather large lava pool in the middle of it. I shrugged off my jacket and tossed it by the ice, which had an odd presence today. It felt almost as if the ice was watching me. I disregarded the odd feeling and collected the pickaxe which I had brought in yesterday. Using heavy swings I began to mine through the wall, hungry to find ores to smelt with. The first ore I need was black steel, to make buckets and strong rods to use as handles on the heavier weapons I was planning on smithing. After a grueling hour of mining, ad my hands were beginning to sting I stumbled across a small vein of black steel. With a slightly happier heart I swung my pick a few more times and collected enough black steel to create a bucket. I placed the material into the smeltery and took my book about minerals, and used the index to search lava. " The hottest substance on earth, rumored to be able to melt a patch of unbreakable ice." I read aloud again, not knowing the reason why. I had no further reason to read anymore, I then checked the smeltery to see it had completed its task. I pulled the still warm and soft metal out of the cold smeltery. Using a hammer I pounded the metal flat and bent it into the shape of a bucket. I then placed the bucket back into the smeltery to causes the folds in the metal to bond together. Once it finished smelting and bonding I carefully collected some lave and dug a trench in front of the ice patch. " alright time to find out what's hidden in there." I said nervously to myself before pouring the hot bucket into the trench. The Ice began to steam, filling the room. The ice did not turn into water as I had expected, just into copious amounts of steam. I backed away trying to fan it away from my face. Once I stepped far enough back I could see two spots of red. "Step aside kain." A booming deep voice called through the smoke. In awe I sneak to the side trying to sneak towards the cave entrance. A bright red dragon shot through the hole in the wall and dove into the lava pit. A tall stallion walked through the hole and turned directly towards me, making me freeze in my tracks. " kain do not fear us, I am the spirit of all that is good and creation." He said in a deep, soothing voice. He stood about half a foot taller than I and looked as if he would not hurt any living thing. "I prefer to call him gary, i'm firefall, I am a force put here to balance out the creation and good." The Dragon spoke, resting his upper body on the lip of the pit he was swimming about. "Why were you both frozen in that patch of ice?" I spat out after a moments silence, still nervous about saying anything at all. " our brother became angered with us and froze us deep with in this cave, he wanted to prevent us from ruling the place we had created." They both said in unison. I nodded and we stood there in silence as the air seemed to almost thicken. "Go home and get some rest kain, you have had a long day." Gary said, I don't remember walking home but I do remember climbing into bed and going to sleep.
