A Lucky Rose
My Name is Lucky Bass, I'm a normal pegasus pony who was born in Ponyville, moved away for a while, and came back. I was just a little filly just living my days, I was so young and so active that I must have ran around the house like a mad dog. Anyway after years I started to develop a sense to sing for some reason so I showed my parents what I was capable of. They loved and were moved by it that they encourage it to be heard by others but there was a problem, I was a very shy colt. Days moved on and it was time for school, and I have to admit I was extremely nervous and was afraid of being rejected. The first day, like everypony says, was always the hardest. I wanted to make an impression on everypony but my shy side was taking over, I remained quite as the teacher was giving announcements.
"Alright everypony settle down." Cheerilee said as the class was quite. "Alrighty then, I understand there are new ponies in this class so lets go around and introduce ourselves. Star..."
She continued asking every filly's name until she reached mine, I stood up for the class and try to summon up some courage to say about myself.
" Um... Hello, My name is Lucky Bass...and I was hoping to um... makes some friends and stuff."
"Very Good, and its nice to meet you too Lucky, Alright with all the introductions been made lets get learning!" Cheerilee said as most of the class kinda moaned a little.
I was listening to the teacher as she was giving some lessons while also looking around the classroom seeing who I was with. I see some fillies asleep on account the might be bored from the lesson, a couple were taking notes, and some of them just drawing. Then I saw this filly a simple dark gray filly with bright pink main with beautiful wings and a.....horn? That's weird I have never seen a filly with both horn and wings, but it didn't bother me. I looked at her as she was watching the teacher being learned until she looked at me. At first she and I stared for like 10 seconds until I looked away, blushing as red as an apple. As I looked away I heard a chuckle, I looked to find it was that same filly who I was staring at. I wanted to get to know her so I wrote down on paper to talk during lunch time. She agreed with her piece of paper and it was set, good thing Cheerilee didn't see. After an hour we moved to lunch and I was sitting alone at a bench until she sat next to me.
"Um.. Hi" I started as she followed up.
"Hello, I'm Obscur Rose. Your...Lucky right?
"Yeah, so how's your first day going?"
"Good good, I kinda noticed you were staring at me. *blush* May I ask why?"
"Um...*blush* I was.. I, I don't know. I can't really but my hoof on it."
"....I have one reason, you might like me."
"I...I...I" I couldn't say anything but she continued to giggle as I realized my wings were fluttering, I guess I must have like her. "Hey you wanna be friends?"
"Sure." She answered as I extended my hoof for a shake but she returned with a hug, this made me think but I wanted to not feel uncomfortable so I returned a hug.
A couple of other fillies saw us hugging and immediately "daww'd" the moment. After Lunch I went over to Cheerilee to see if I could get a sit maybe next to Obscur. Cheerilee said that today's not okay but she can get a seating chart for tomorrow, so for now I guess i'll have to wait. After some time school was about to be done as Cheerilee had an announcement to make.
"Alright Everypony! I have one more announcement to make before letting you all go. There will be a talent show coming on in about 3 days so if you want to participate you can come to me after class and we can talk about it."
A talent show? That sounds like fun, if only I can get over this shyness. The bell rang and the class ran out but I stuck around just thinking, this caught not only Obscur's attention but Cheerilee's as well.
"What's wrong Lucky?" Obscur said as Cheerilee came over.
"I don't know, I might want to come to the talent show but..."
"But?"
"I'm kinda shy."
"But you weren't shy around me." Obscur said as Cheerilee came out.
"Oh, you wanna come to the talent show? Well you'll be the first to play and you might get everypony's attention. Come on what do you day?"
"Yeah, come on Lucky. I want to see you perform, please?"
Oh no, she said please. I didn't want to disappoint her, she's my first friend. I was between a rock and a hard place trying to figure out what to say until I heard myself saying. "Sure." ' WHAT DID I SAY?!?' rushed through my head as they looked happy.
"Well then I'll just put you on the list. I can't wait to see you at the talent show." Cheerilee said as Obscur blushes, saying.
"Me neither. See you later."
Later at dinner time I stood there looking at my food as my parents wondered about my mood. I told them I'm going to be in a talent show and they were happy that I was breaking out of the shyness barrier but the questioned why. I told them that I met a friend who wanted to see me in a talent show so I agreed. They then started to get ideas like "my baby's in love" or "Aww, I'm so proud" I never let it bothered me but they were proud of me of course. Days past and I was hanging out with Obscur a lot and soon she introduced to me a couple of her friends Star Shooter, Windy, and so on. Then the day came...Talent Show. The day came and I was the fourth one up during the performance and My talent will be singing a classic tune that my parents loved. I took the spotlight and I... I froze, I stared at the crowd with sweat. I was so scared I was to believed that I was going to wet myself but I held through that part. When I was looking around I was still in a panic until I saw Obscur Walked up to me and whispered.
"You can do it." Without warning she gave me a kiss on the cheek which grabbed a bunch of attention from the crowd. I was now calmed as I signaled the teacher to play the song and I sang for the crowd.
After my performance I was looking at the cheering crowd then to Obscur, who was happy to hear such tone in a song. I guess I was lucky, with that a bright light flashed to what it would appear to be behind me. I looked to find that I now have a cutie mark, it was a four leaf clover with a bass clef in it. I was happy I jumped up and down with joy until I gained my sense. I hugged Obscur saying thank for believing in me. After that I was kinda popular, lots of fillies and colts were talking about me.Years moved on from that point and came a horrible detail in my life. I was told that I was going to move to a new city due to some problems with my parents, This sadden me I was going to leave my friends which I was mad about. They told me that we would leave a couple of days so this gave me time to say my farewells. During School I was going around saying my goodbyes and farewells until all there's left was Obscur. I was heartbroken that I was going to say goodbye to her but the thing is I couldn't. I never wanted to do this not in my life so I had an Idea. I walked up to her and she had a sad look on her face, I guess she knows.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey, Lucky."
"I'm sorry about this, I never wanted this to happened."
"I guess you can't be Lucky all the time" She chuckled as if it was a joke which I laughed as well.
"Obscur, I don't want to say goodbye to you. So I have an idea."
"Really? What is it?"
"It may take me a while to get this right, but I promise you this. I will comeback to Ponyville for you." I grabbed her hoof as I made this promise and said this sentence. "I..I..like you like you."
"I like you, like you too Lucky." and we shared a kiss not on the cheeks but on our lips, We were happy.
After the move I was determined to comeback to Ponyville, I had a goal to complete and nothing will stop me. There will be times where I will be sad or mad but I will be determined. So the years moved on and I was at the age where not only I graduated school but also worked on some jobs to earn enough bits to earn a home in Ponyville. My mother was supported on this, My father now kinda don't care but that didn't bother me. Then the day came, I earned enough money to not only go to Ponyville and live there but also have enough money for a week ti'll I need to get a job over there. I said my goodbyes to my parents as I made my way back to Ponyville. She's waiting for me, I can't let her keep waiting...
