//------------------------------// // Torchwood -- oh, not again! // Story: Twilight in Torchwood // by Word Painter //------------------------------// "Yes, yes, yes!" Twilight was shouting, jumping around her new teacher, princess Celestia. The rest of her day went by in a blur. Her parents signed some forms, and the princess showed her around the the castle and left her in the library to study, with instructions to meet her in the dining room at 6:00 for dinner. Twilight took her first look at the library and gasped. The room was full from top to bottom with books. Twilight stood there just staring for a moment before she bolted, grabbing several books as she went off on her nerd rampage. She finally settled down and began to read. Eventually a single spell caught her eye: ''Teleportation Spell.'' Twilight studied the spell for several hours, then stood up, determined to try the spell herself. Suddenly she saw a pedestal with a plaque that read: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Starswirl the Bearded believed that this watch had extreme power and could be * * used to time travel. He also believed that only a pony with a powerful destiny could * * hope to wield its tremendous might. This watch is said to be his motivation for his * * great unfinished final spell. * --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight wanted to get closer look, so she tried the teleportation spell. She overshot, hitting the pedestal and knocking the watch off it. Twilight panicked and desperately tried to grab it with her magic. When that failed, she reached out with a hoof and grabbed it, but the second her hoof touched the watch it opened to reveal a blue vortex before -- FLASH -- she was gone, leaving only scorch marks in her wake. Twilight opened her eyes and screamed (or as good of a scream as you can do with a muzzle). Twilight was covered in steel up to the knee and the rest of her body was covered in restraints. Too heavy to levitate she tried to buck, but the steel kept her hooves from moving. That's when she looked up to see giant ape-like monsters with no hair except on the top of their heads. ''Princess Celestia!'' Twilight screamed as loud as she could. ''HELP!'' Twilight knew only one spell that could help her situation. The princess had a translation spell that she used whenever foreign diplomats came to Canterlot. Twilight had memorized the spell for a school exam and could do it with ease, so almost without thinking she cast the spell, and the room lit up with a purple flash. All eyes turned to her. ''What was that?'' one of the creatures said, clearly surprised by her use of magic. ''Translation spell,'' Twilight said without thinking. One of the creatures (female from the sound of her voice) approached Twilight. "Planet of origin?" she asked, her voice cold and questioning. ''Umm, Equestria,'' Twilight offered, ''Speaking of which, I really should be getting back.'' The creature smiled, but not a warm smile, a scary one. ''I'm sorry, but you will be staying here at Torchwood for a while.'' At that moment Twilight remembered the spell that she had been working on before she had been sent to this place. She pictured the steel door at the end of the room and gathered her magic; then -- pop!-- she was on the other side of the door. Then Twilight ran with no sense of where she was running. She only knew it would have to be away from the monsters. Suddenly out of nowhere comes one more monster. This one seemed male, with chestnut hair and a trench coat. He grabbed Twilight and to her astonishment didn't give her to the mean creatures, but continued running and while running he told her, ''I'm the Doctor, and I'm going to get you back to Equestria.'' He ran until he reached a blue box, with its door being held open by a female creature. As soon as they were inside, the creature called the Doctor set her down. The box had been a magic doorway of some sort that had brought them into a large chamber. The Doctor started playing with some buttons on a sloppy dashboard. ''What the bloody hell is going on?'' the female asked. ''Rose,'' said the doctor ''When you went bad wolf you tore a hole in the gate between dimensions just big enough for her to get through. Now it probably would have dissipated if it didn't have a time lord watch, which is the only thing strong enough to connate a temporal tear. And if you're clever and trust me (I'm very clever) you can easily track down a temporal tear. And here we are. Now hold on,'' the Doctor said. ''Dimension travel in about 5 seconds.'' There was a bang, followed by a blinding blue light. Then both the Doctor and Rose were on the floor laughing. ''I'm a pony, I'm a bloody pony! Doctor, you are amazing!!!!!'' Rose said. ''Thank you, Miss Rose Luck,'' the doctor relied. ''Rose Luck. What will you come up with next?'' Rose said. ''No, seriously,'' the Doctor said. ''That's how names work. Here, you're looking at Dr. Hooves.'' ''No way," Rose said. ''Yes way,'' the Doctor replied with a large smile. "Wait, then why didn't that little pony turn into a human when she came into our world, if we turn into ponies?" asked Rose. "Well, she went through the rift and only the rift, while we, on the other hand, took the safer route through the Medusa Cascade, which does wibbely-wobbley stuff to anything that passes through it," the Doctor replied. Twilight gasped as her vision refocused. The creatures had turned into ponies. At that moment the Doctor turned his attention back on Twilight. The stallion led her to the door and opened it. To Twilight's amazement, they were in the Canterlot library. Then the stallion stepped back into the box and with a strange sound, the box disappeared, pony and all. Twilight stood there, shocked at her experiences. She looked up at a clock and ran. The clock read five - fifty, and she had to be on time to show her teacher that she was the most faithful student ever.
