//------------------------------// // 3 The very long day // Story: Solar Blaze's forward beginning. // by Solar Blaze //------------------------------// “Good morning, class. Today, we will be learning about The Way of an Alicorn. An alicorn is a high level unicorn usually in the family of royalty, for example our very own Princess Luna.” The professor started, as he held up a picture of the dark royal mare he was eluding to. Solar Blaze took notes on everything her teacher said. She did not enjoy repetition, so she did her best to make sure she never had to go over it again. Solar worked diligently and attentively; nothing was gonna stop her from getting her notes down on paper. “The first thing that an alicorn needs to learn is three basic morals the elements of magic, the elements of harmony, and the elements of spiritual strength. These are mental elements, while the elements of harmony exist; these are not what I am referring to. Within three months we will be learning all three of these elements. While, you will not gain the magical strength of an alicorn, or gain wings , these are still helpful in a unicorn’s life.” While she still had taken down some notes for the assignment Solar Blaze did not see the purpose of it. The period ended and she packed up for her next class, dragon culture… On her way to her next class room, she noticed a crowd of students all surrounding an object that wasn't visible right away. As she got closer to it, her horn started to glow softly. Scared, she stopped a moment and sat, having felt the e She was confused. She did not understand why everypony was distracted from their classes. She didn’t pay it much mind and continued to her next class. As she arrived, she sat at her seat and unpacked using a telekinetic field on her books and writing utensils. She finished unpacking within six seconds. She sat up in her seat and found her pencil in her own telekinetic grip. The class began and the teacher unpacked her prepared lessons. “Good Morning, Class I am Lunar Eclipse I will be teaching Dragon Culture.” She said. “Dragon Culture is the way of life for dragons.” Lunar Eclipse noted. “As you may know dragons are avoided pretty well by ponies. Scientists may have figured out some stuff but did not come back alive. This class will not have many lessons but will be beneficial for all of you in the Fillydelphia University unicorn program.” Lunar Eclipse said finishing with an excited tone. The class applauded. “To start the class, we will be working on some worksheets that will basically make it easier to take notes so that you do not have to struggle with finding important parts of the lesson.” Lunar Explained. Solar Blaze went over the page and read in her head. “What is the origin of the dragon? What is the beginning of the life of the dragon? What does the dragon usually eat? What force allows dragons to fly?” Solar Blaze sat puzzled. “How am I supposed to know all this?” She thought. She realized that Lunar Eclipse had said that this was just a study sheet, and that she would be taking notes on it. Solar Blaze sat in her seat finally realizing she was still holding her pencil and felt tired. The reason she was tired was because she hadn't been sleeping well. She felt her magic weaken, it suddenly was gone, and her pencil dropped on her desk causing a loud dropping noise, she nearly drifted off. She realized that she dropped her pencil and she quickly picked it up before it fell off her desk. “…and that is how the dragon can fly.” She heard Eclipse wrap up as she regained consciousness. She felt bad about missing her dragon culture class but celebrated in her head for not having any assignments to work at home. She packed up in unison with her classmates. She had one more class but in the town of Ponyville there was other more important news.
