//------------------------------// // Chapter 7 // Story: Dragon Ball Z: Equestria's forgotten hero. // by BAR0SS //------------------------------// Chapter 7 "Solaris?" "Nooo, Go awayyyy" "Hehe, Come Solaris. Its time to get up. Princess Celestia says for you to come to breakfast." I could feel my body being lightly shaken, but I just ignored it and tried to go back to sleep. It wasn't working however. Whoever was shaking me just began to shake me more and more until I got sick of it. "Alright! Fine, I'll get up." My eyes slowly fluttered open and I was immediately blinded by the light coming through my window, causing me to groan and clench my eyes shut again. I had no idea why, but I felt hung over, but somehow also really good at the same time. 'Ugh, what happened yesterday?' I wondered. I didn't have to wonder for very long however. "Its ok Solaris. You will soon get used to our connection again and your headache will vanish in time." My eyes shot open again as I quickly sat up and looked around. But other than myself, there was only a maid in my room. "C-Celestia?" I knew it was her voice I heard, but she was nowhere to be seen. "Oh calm down Solaris. I am communicating to you through our connection." she said. 'So you can now read my mind?' I asked. "Only when you want me to. We will need to spend some time together so I can teach you how to control our connection again. I will block it for now so I can't hear all your thoughts, I won't be able to do my duties with your thoughts passing through my mind all the time. Now, are you coming to breakfast?" 'Yeah, I guess. I'll be there soon.' "Ok, see you when you get here." She finished. I rolled over and off my bed. I stood up on all fours and stretched my tight muscles in my back, legs and wings, hearing a satisfying pop come from each joint. The maid however didn't seem to like the sound because she flinched at each pop. I let out a yawn and stood back up properly before I lazily made for the door to my room. I was walking with out of sync steps because I was still tired. "Wait, Prince Solaris!" I stopped and looked back to the maid. She looked to me and gestured to the bed side table and sitting upon it was the crown I was supposed to wear. "Um, no thanks. I don't wear crowns." I said before continuing out of my room. I walked around the castle for about 15 minutes, navigating the corridors and winding pathways. I had easily gotten lost, but I honestly didn't care, I was to tired to care. If I did care, I would just go to the closest window and fly around for a bit until I found the right room. I looked out a window, but shrugged. I was enjoying walking around by myself. "Sir?" 'Oh of course.' I thought as I turned to the voice. Behind me was one royal guard, his white coat, blue mane and gold armour making his occupation obvious. "Hey, what's up?" I asked. The guard trotted up to me and saluted when he got close. I frowned and used my magic to lower his hoof for him, confusing him in the process. "Sir, why are you here? Shouldn't you be maing your way to the dining hall?" he asked. "Well, yeah. But I kind of got lost and ended up enjoying myself walking around." I said. "If you would like sir, I can take you there?" he offered. "Yeah, sure. Why not?" And with that, we began out journey to to were I was supposed to go. We soon arrived and I walked into the dining hall, finding Celestia, Luna, the guard I met outside of that old castle and some pink Alicorn. They all looked to me, but I just ignored them and found a seat across from the guard and slumped into my chair. "How nice of you to finally join us Solaris." Celestia said with a giggle. "Yeah yeah, I got lost." I said with a huff. All the ponies shared a laugh with the exception of myself. "So anyway, Cadence, how goes the Crystal Empire?" Celestia asked. "Its going well auntie." I looked tot he pink Alicorn when she said that. "We are currently trying to bring the empire to more current times. The ponies there still think that leaching is the best source of medical." Cadence said. "Leaching? is that it?" I mumbled to myself quietly. "Do you have something to say Solaris?" Celestia asked. I looked to her and saw her giving me the 'raised eyebrow' look. "Just thinking to myself." I said. Celestia lifted her eyebrow higher before slowly looking back to Cadence. But she then saw that Cadence was looking at me with a confused expression. "Oh my, Cadence. You have yet to meet Solaris. Solaris this is Cadence." I looked over to the the pink Alicorn and nodded once. She seemed confused, but copied the gesture before picking up some of her sandwich in her magic and taking a bite. "Cadence? This might be a bit of a shock to you, but Solaris here is my son." Cadence eyes widened in she began to choke on the bit of sandwich she had in her mouth. Shining Armour tried to help her, but she held a hoof up to him and tapped on her chest a few times with her other hoof. "Auntie, is this 'the' son you told me that went missing 2000 years ago!?!" Cadence asked loudly while standing up. "Yes Cadence, now please calm down." Celestia said. "I have a question." Shining piped up. "Why did you leave?" he asked. "I don't know. I still don't even remember being a pony. You said it yourself Shining, that something must have happened to me to make me forget." I said. "Ok, I have another question then. Why were some of my guards giggleing like foals while covered in cake yesterday?" he asked. Both Luna and myself looked to each other. I tensed myself in an attempt to not laugh and I could see that she was doing the same. She even put her hooves over her mouth and tried holding her breath, but she lost it. Luna fell out of her chair and began to giggle like a school girl, confusing the hell out of Shining Armour as she did. I chuckled to myself a bit, but Luna was in hysterics. "Uh, did I miss something?" Shining asked. "Actually yes. You should have been there yesterday and maybe you could have had some fun too." I said, confusing him even more. "Ok, I will explain. Yesterday, my son found it fit the rearrange everything in the kitchen to make a fortress before he began to throw cakes at the guards who tried to stop him." Celestia began. "Yeah, it was great. They were absolutely terrified of being hit." I said with a laugh. "So then Luna here came along and Solaris managed to get a cheap hit on her while she was not paying attention. And that was when the war began. Luna divided the present guards into two teams and summoned a heap of cakes for her team. Both sides began to throw cakes at each other, but soon ran out of ammunition. Solaris ended up winning the war but levitating what was left of the icing and made a tidal wave with it and drenched his opponents and claimed victory." Celestia explained. Shining looked to me and groaned. "Sir, do you know hard it is for me to train these guards to be serious enough to do their jobs? It was only by their training and level headedness that they were able to subdue you when you kept running. Without that, they act like a bunch of foals." Shining said. I hadn't noticed, but in the time it took for Shining to finish scolding me, Cadence had gotten up, made her way around the table to me and sat down beside me, staring at me like she was trying to figure out a puzzle box or something. I only noticed her when she decided to go ahead and put her off on my shoulder. I turned to look at her and a large grin had grown over her face. I watched as the pink Alicorn stretched out her forelegs and began to lean towards me. Seeing the incoming hug, I countered it by lifting my own hoof to my forehead and disappearing and reappearing behind her. Cadence's eyes widened in shock and she managed to catch herself before she fell over. Shining however just looked to me with a shocked expression while Cadence tried to look around for me. "How the hay did you do that!?!" Shining demanded. "Well Shining," I began before doing it again, but this time I appeared next to him and put a foreleg over his shoulder. "that is a little thing called the Instant Transmission technique. A little trick that I learnt from a friend that allows me to appear anywhere I want." I said as I pretended to shine my hoof on my chest. "Really? Then why did you not use that while my guards were trying to subdue you?" he asked. "Two reasons. I felt really weak at the time, and your guards were preventing me from using what power I had left. But now that I am feeling a little better. I could guarantee that you probably wouldn't win a second time." I said. I watched as his eyes widened in realization of a false truth, so I continued. "Don't worry, I'm not going to run." Shining let out a sigh and relaxed a little. "So Solaris, what are you going to do today?" Celestia asked. "I don't know. Any ideas?" I asked. "Well I am sure that Miss Day Star would like you to keep your word." she offered. 'Oh damn, I forgot about that. Hm, maybe a sparing partner would be helpful anyway.' I thought to myself. I stood up and began to make for the door. "Well, if I'm going to do that, we should probably get an early start. Do you know where I can find Day Star?" I asked. "Just head to the training grounds outside. I will have a guard collect her for you." Celestia said. I nodded and walked out of the dining hall, but a thought soon dawned on me. I ran back inside, grabbed my plate of what looked like flowers and hay and flew out again. A few minutes later, I had found myself outside and in what looked like a training area. It wasn't hard to find. All I had to do was fly around. Anyway, so once I got there, I looked at my plate.I had to admit, the hay and flowers did look pretty appetizing. I knew in my saiyan body, I wouln't have given it a second glance, but I couldn't help myself. I dropped my face onto the plate and consumed what was on it in less than 4 seconds.Once done, I put the plate down and let out a sigh. I wasn't full, but it did taste good. I opened my wings and flew up into the air. I was alone out in the guard training area, so I decided to see what I could do. I closed my eyes and let my mind search my body, feeling out every muscle, ligament and joint. I could feel my heart beating calmly in my chest and the blood surge through my veins with each beat. I snapped my eyes open and threw a volley of punches forward before spinning around kicking with my right hind leg behind me. I was surprised when I realized that I had done that in less than a second, meaning my power was coming back to me as my body recovered. If I had to take a guess, If I had to guess, I would say that my power level was at least over 1000 again, but I had no real way to tell for sure. I thrust both of my forehooves forward before bringing them both back by my side. "Kaaa... Meee... Haa... Meeeee... ... ...HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" I shouted as I threw both of my forehooves forward again, sending a bright blue beam forward out over the horizon. The beam continued straight until it passed out of the planets atmosphere and into the abyss of space. I stayed in the same position for a few moments, letting myself recover a little bit from pulling the Kamehamea wave before relaxing my forehooves back down to my sides as I lowered myself back to the ground. I landed and closed my eyes as I let out a sigh through my nose. 'So my body is capable of everything my saiyan body could do... besides turn super saiyan. Only saiyans can do that.' I thought to myself, a small smile coming across my face. "SIR, GET DOWN!!!" I started to turn around, but was too late as I felt myself get tackled to the ground by multiple guards before they all covered me with their bodies. "Agh, what the hell!?!" I shouted. "It's ok sir, where here to protect you." one of the guards said in a worried tone. "Protect me? Protect me from what?" I asked. "There was a large unknown power outburst sir. Until we know that you are safe, you need to stay safe." he said, but I only began to laugh. "Guy's, you don't need to worry." I said as I stood up out of the group of guards. They tried to keep me down, but I easily overpowered them like nothing. "Sir, get down. We don't know if that power will come back!" a guard demanded. "Oh, it will come back, but only if I want it to." I said, causing all the guards to freeze in confusion. "Sir, explain yourself!" I shrugged my shoulders before taking a wide stance and tensing my every muscle. "AAAAAHHHHH!!!" I shouted as a white aura exploded around me, causing the ground to shake. Once my aura was stable and I was sure I wouldn't loose control of my power, I relaxed a little, but my aura kept flaring around my body. One thing that I noticed was, my aura was different. It was till white, but it seemed to be more calm that I used to have. The last time my aura was the weak was when I had begun my journey to save the earth. The guards were blown back from my position a bit and they all looked to me with shocked expressions. I just smirked at them. "So, you like what you see?" I asked rhetorically. One guard stood up and made his way over to me. He lit up his horn and tried to do something, but whatever it was, it failed. "Great and powerful mother of Celestia! What is this?" he asked. Were you there when I was captured outside of the old castle?" I asked to which he nodded. "This is the power that Shining had all the unicorns focus on overpowering and suppressing." I said before relaxing and letting my aura fade away and letting out a sigh. "So, it was you who did it before?" he asked. I nodded once. "And you are in no real danger?" "Nope." "Well... ok then. Do you need anything sir?" he asked. "Uh, no thanks." I said. The guard gave a salute, to which I rolled my eyes at, before he turned and walked away with the other guards. I watched them walk away for a moment, until I heard movement behind me. I spun around and saw Day Star, standing there with her jaw on the ground. I let out a chuckle as I realized that she must have seen me powered up. "H-how?" she muttered. "Don't worry. If you keep with the training, you will find out soon enough." I said. "R-really?" she stuttered. "Yep. But that reminds me. Just forget about what you saw and look me in the eye." I said. She hesitated for a moment, but did so. "Now listen carefully. This training, I have to war you about it. I will hurt a lot, and will put a lot of strain on both your mind and body. I won't be going easy on you, so you have to be sure that you wont get upset when you get hurt. Do you honestly thin you can handle it?" I asked. Day Star stared into my eyes for a moment before a determined grin formed on her face. "Bring. It. On." she said. "Alright then. First, I want you to try and hit me." I said, causing her to gasp and hold her hooves over her mouth. "Look, while we train, we are not friends or even allies. We are opponents. So just forget about the fact that I am Celestia's son and just try and hit me." I said. Day Star shivered quickly before she tried to fly at me with a fist out in my direction. But to her dismay, I grabbed her hoof and flipped her onto her back faster than she could blink. "Come on. Get up and try again." I said as I walked to where she was standing just before. I turned and faced Star and saw that she was still getting up. "Hey Star!" I shouted before leaping at her and pulling my right forehoof back, ready for a strike. Star's eyes widened in shock at my sudden attack and she jumped to the side, barely avoiding my hoof as it slammed down into the ground, cracking the hard dirt below. If I had hit her, she would have been in a lot of pain. "What the hay!?!" she shouted at me. "What? This is a fight. You have to work on your defence as well as offence." I said before flying at her and shoulder barging her in the chest, sending her sprawling back before falling on the ground. Star clutched her chest and coughed from being winded, confusing me. 'Oops, maybe I over did it?' I thought to myself. I walked over to Star and helped her up, but while doing so, she swung a hoof at my head, but I avoided it and jumped back. "So, trying to feign weakness?" I asked with a smirk. "Well it worked... sort of." she said, still rubbing her chest a bit. "Well, I wont fall for that again. Now, lets get back to it." I said. Star stood wide before charging at me as fast as she could, but I again flipped her on her back before delivering a blow to her stomach, causing her to shout out in pain. I jumped away and stood ready again. Star on the other hand/hoof, slowly pushed herself up. "Damn, you were right. this does hurt." she said through a hiss. "And do you know whats funny? I'm still not even trying." I said, causing her to groan. "But don't worry, once you get better, you will actually learn to avoid attacks instead of trying to take them." "You think I haven't been trying!?!" she shouted as she turned and flew at me again, but this time, I let her try to swing at me multiple times, dodging each strike. She swun about four times before I decided to stop her by bringing my forehoof into her stomach before hitting her down to the ground. Star didn't get up this time. She just lay there, breathing heavily and sobbing. I carefully rolled her over and picked her up in my forelegs. "Hey now, you're doing fine. If we were even, I recon you could beat me into the ground." I said, trying to make her feel better. "No, put me down. If we're opponents, don't help me." she said, rolling out of my hold and onto her her own hooves. "So, you're not going to quit?" I asked. "No, I will not quit. With Celestia as my witness, I will be as good as you some day." she said with a determined sparkle in her eye. "Alright then. Lets get back to it." I said. So, we began to train in the ways of martial arts.
