Chapter 1

In the Canterlot Castle Court Room….

Princess Celestia sat on the royal rug, silently watching and listening as the stallion ambassadors of Equestria, who were grouped around the chamber in a circle, arguing about the growing problems of the realm.

“We’ve received reports that the wolves are regrouping” Said Stormcaller, the white Pegasus ambassador of the royal guard, wearing the normal golden armor that was slandered issue.

“Certainly the recent attacks on the settlers are evidence enough” Said Riverwood the brown earth pony ambassador who represented the Equestrian people.

“Agreed, the timber wolves are on the move” Said Bittermen, the black unicorn ambassador who represented the Equestria’s royalty. He wore a tuxedo with a red rose.

“This is absurd! My town we’ll not stand by and watch as the wolves mass on our very door step” Said Twisterberry the tan earth pony who was the mayor of the town in question.

“The timber wolves are not our primary concern here. How many times must I repeat myself? Princess Celestia, you must heed my wronging. This darkness that has gripped the northlands could have dire reifications” Said Brightstar, the blue unicorn ambassador of the wizard council, which was a group of unicorns that had a strong understanding of music that was started by Starswhirl the Bearded.

Stormcaller brushed Brightstar’s words aside. “Darkness? You wizards are just being paradox!”

As an argument grew, a Celestia noticed a single black raven fly in from one of the open windows, and watched as it flow over them in a circle pattern.

Bittermen waved to the others to calm down. “Let’s keep this all in perspective. Even if this darkness does pose a threat to us, what are you proposing that we do?”

Brightstar smiled. “It is simple, as I’ve said the wizard council is already prepared to place the towns under strict quarantine.”

Celestia withdrew from the raven to focus her attention on the conversation. “I we’ll not institute quarantine without proof of your claims ambassador. The people of Equestria have suffered enough without becoming prisoners in their own lands.”

Attention now focused on the raven as it floor on to the flow in the middle of the circle. It looked up at Celestia, blinked once, and suddenly to everyone’s surprise, it spoke.

“Yet prisoners they are, your highness.”

The ambassadors immediately called out for answers, but Celestia was the one who spoke out to the raven. “What is the meaning of this? How are you?”

The raven blinked, unfazed by the tension in the room. “Equestria is in peril, the tides of darkness have come again, and the whole world is poised on the brink of war!”

Stormcaller didn’t take the ravens words well. “Enough of this, guards! Remove this madman!”

As the guards moved in on the raven, it made a final plead for attention. “Hear me! The only hope for you people is to travel west to the Forgotten Lands!”

Riverwood was shocked by the idea. “Travel west? Are you mad?”

Princess Celestia stood up, waving her hooves to silence the others. “Hold ambassador. I don’t know how you are or what you believe, but this is not the time for rambling prophets! These lands are beset by conflict, but it shall be we how decide what’s best for are people, not you. Now, be gone!”

The raven looked down for a moment that appeared to be an expression of sadness. “I failed Equestria once before, and I’ll not do so again.” The raven raised into the air. “If you cannot take up this cup, than I we’ll find other who we’ll.”
Then it flow up into the air, flying out of the window and Celestia.

As the raven flow into the sunset, he grew frustrated about the event that had just unfolded, and the one that was now sure to follow. “The warning has been given. Their fate is now their own.”

Somewhere in Everfree Forest…..

Silently the timber wolves moved through the forest trying to get away from the pony guards that were trying to case them out of forest. They had quickened their pace as the guards get closer. Thankfully, dark clouds covered the moon, preventing the Pegasus in the sky from spotting them.

“We must lose them soon or they will follow us home” the chieftain called out to the others.

Suddenly the wolf in the lead froze in place, apparently staring at something. The others started to slow down, but the chieftain told them to press on and that he would find out what is wrong.

The chieftain ran up to find out what the trouble was, only to freeze at the figure that was the shape of a wolf but with fur. “Is that….” The other wolf nodded his head.

The chieftain stood there in disbelief “But I thought they, he, were just fairy tales of the past?”

The wolf turned to his chieftain. “Fairy tales don’t breathe when they sleep.” Suddenly they heard a trig snap.

The chieftain started to sprint away. “Grab him, there almost on us! They must not take him; he is our people’s last hope!”

The timber wolf picked the furry wolf up by grabbing his neck like a pups. “Funny, I though the legendary wolf would be bigger.”

Moving as fast as he could with the furry wolf in his mouth, he sprinted, trying to follow his chieftain, but he had lost sight of him. At first he thought about searching for him, but that would slow him down with the guards not so far behind. So he decided to head for home and hope the chieftain got their ok.

“There, I think I see one” a voice from behind him shouted. He sprinted as fast as he could, blindly running in an attempt to prevent the legend of old from being captured. The voices grew loader as he ran, but as he moved deeper into the forest, he released that the voices were but echoes.

Putting the furry wolf down in the grass, he decided to take this moment to breathe and get a grip on the situation. “Ok, ok, I’m ok….”

He moved over to the furry wolf and decided lay down within eyeshot of him. “I’m going to bed….don’t go anywhere….” Slowly his eyes shut, and his last thoughts were how he was going to explain this to the others.
