It's your fault

The past

Shock Wave was a new pony in town. She didn't know anypony and didn't want to. She just signed her agreement with the mayor for her new place. All she wanted to do was get home and relax. She was too uptight and was beginning to get edgy. She blew her green and orange mane to the side.

"Hi!" Somepony shouted from behind her, causing her to squeak in terror. "Oh my celestia, I am soooo so so sorry! Its just I've never seen you around before which means I've never met you which means you're new here which means I should introduce myself! My name is Pinkie Pie!"

Shock Wave removed her hoof from under her cloak and saddlebag and calmed her breathing. She had almost- no she wouldn't think about it.

"I'm Shock Wave." She muttered, continuing to walk to her new temporary home near the Everfree forest.

"Its nice to meet you Shock Wave! Oh! I'm hosting a welcome party for you! I just thought of it! Ill come by later to get you!" The pink pony disappeared before she could protest.

Shock Wave sighed and continued walking. Nothing she could do right now. She saw her home come into view. She glanced to her left and noticed a small cottage. As she drew nearer she noticed a chicken coop surrounded by a fence as well as many small woodland creatures littering around the house. She noticed a yellow pegasi with a light pink mane flying around attending to the animals. This would cause potential problems.

She rubbed her horn and sighed. More problems that she didn't need. She arrived at her home and opened her door, stepping inside. She closed the door behind her, locking it and lighting some candles. Finally.
She could begin preparation.

She began by making sure all of the windows were locked and covered with sheets. She didn't want anypony to see what she was up to. She then began to pull items from her saddlebag. Some tools, plastic, boots, and her photo book. She smiled and opened it, flipping through the pages as memories flooded her mind.

She was a young unicorn filly. Living in Manehattan at the orphanage, she was happy. Despite not having a mother or father, she had a positive outlook on life. She wanted to be a singer more than anything. She looked up to ponies like Chad Cruemane and The Beetle Colts. She had a beautiful voice, and often sang at charity benefits. She didn’t have her cutie mark yet, but she was sure it would be one that had something to do with singing. It was Hearths warming eve and she was excited. She would be singing for
Princess Celestia for the charity ball at the Mane hall. She was waiting backstage before the show.

"Now Shock Wave, this is a very important day for you." Her case colt, Tumbleweed, said encouragingly. "Princess Celestia will be here and I want you to try your best. And most of all have fun and smile."

Shock wave grinned from ear to ear. "I will. You can count on me!"

"Fillies and gentle colts! We are proud to present one of our brightest young fillies to sing for you on this hearths warming eve!" The announcer said over the loud speaker.

"You're up! Good luck!" tumbleweed gave her a nudge with his hoof.

"Give a round of applause for Shock Wave!"

She walked out to the stage, still grinning. She heard cheers from the crowd and looked around. There she was! Princess Celestia was smiling, her mane sparkling in the afternoon light.

Shock Wave took a deep breath and began to sing, all the while her eyes never leaving Celestia. She watched as the Princess looked down at a purple filly, said something, and glanced back at Shock Wave. The little purple filly began to cry and Princess Celestia went to comfort her. What Shock Wave heard next changed her life forever.

"She's so poor and drab. Why does she get such a beautiful voice?"

Shock Wave continued to sing hoping she had heard wrong from the purple filly. She wasn't poor. She wasn't drab! She had everything she needed. So why was this pony, who new nothing about her, who probably still had her parents, say something so hurtful?

Shock Wave was so angry. Her voice cut out and she stopped singing.

"Shock Wave?" Tumbleweed whispered from the side stage.

Tears started falling from the red fillies eyes. She suddenly let out an ear piercing screech, causing everypony within earshot to drop to the ground, covering their ears in pain. Nearby windows shattered. When she finally took a breath she looked around. Princess Celestia was on the ground covering the purple filly with her wing and covering her own ears with her hoofs.

"Twilight Sparkle, are you okay?"The Princess asked the filly.

Shock Wave took a deep breath and screeched again. She could hear the ponies cries for help. When her voice died down she didn't think, she just ran. Away from the voices, away from the screaming, and away from that purple filly. She was too ashamed to want to go back. She thought she heard somepony call her name, but she didn't stop running. Couldn't stop. She ran for what felt like forever.

When she stopped running nothing looked familiar. It was getting dark and she couldn't see the city lights. She heard a river nearby and she was next to a forest. She sat down by a tree, breathing heavily. She could never go back. They would never accept her after what she did.

She hung her head, her orange and green mane falling over her eyes. She glanced at her flank and saw a peculiar sight. She had her cutie mark, but it wasn't what she was expecting. It was four rings, small to large extending from inner flank to outer.

A shock wave.
