Derpy woke up on a beautiful Summer day assuming it was going to be the usual routine for her day. Get up, brush mane, brush her teeth, Eat as many muffins for Breakfast and then wonder around Ponyville for a walk.
So Derpy got up to brush her mane at her usual time. Then she went to brush her teeth when she saw something at the corner of her eye. She was startled at first, but then she assumed it was her husband Dr. Whooves. " He's always in a rush in the morning to get out to work on time." She said to herself.
When Derpy was done with her normal morning routine she went outside to walk around Ponyville for a bit. When she was walking she remembered it was hers and Dr. Whooves one year anniversery, so she decided to stop by at their favorite bakery to get a muffin flavored cake. After all if you didn't know muffins were Derpy's favorite food. She walked in to find no one there. "That's funny? There's always someone here on Sunday's?" She questioned. " Oh well I can make one at home then and surprise him when he walks through the door.
When Derpy walked through the door, she was startled to see Dr. Whooves sitting in his chair by the lamp reading.
"Your're home already? I thought you were working a later shift today?"
" We all got out early today, there was some sort of deadly disease spreading around, so we had to have some people come
in and clear all of it out."
"Ok then!", Derpy said joyfully.
Derpy was actually glad that her husband was back, even though she didn't get to make the muffin cake she wanted. " Wait wouldn't my husband remember my anniversery? Did he really forget about it?" Derpy moped at the side of her bed. Dr.Whooves and Derpy share a bed, but normally he isn't back from work yet, so Derpy never see's him crawl into bed with her. Suddenly, Derpy saw something at the corner of her eye again. This time she noticed a note that fell from what ever went bye quickly. Derpy walked over and picked it up. it said, " Meet me at the back of our favorite bakery shoppe. You will be in for a surprise! - Love your husband Dr. Whooves.
Derpy was confused by this at first but then decided to go see what he was talking about.
"After all I do love surprises!", Derpy exclaimed.
When she got to the back of the building, she could see nothing but darkness. Maybe it was just a silly prank that Pinkie Pie was doing. But right as Derpy turned around to leave a bunch of lanterns were lit up and there before her eyes were all her friends and family. She ran up to Dr. Whooves and gave him a huge hug. He was probably the one who set all of this up.
"Thank you so much sweetie!" Derpy exclaimed exitedly.
Then she saw as the lanterns hit up the middle of the ally. Was a the huge muffin cake she wanted to make for her and Dr. Whooves anniversery. All her friends and family watches as Derpy went flying and plunged into the cake taking the biggest bite I have ever seen. Everyone started laughing about it and soon enough everyone was taking hand fulls of cake and smothering there faces it with it. It was a great party! Everyone talked and laughed with each other. Nothing went bad at all.
At the end of the party, everyone gathered and sang Derpy's favorite song. Then gathered all their things and left. Leaving just Derpy and Dr. Whooves to do whatever they wanted. So Derpy and Dr. Whooves gave each other a great big kiss.
Then Derpy whispered, " I love you for doing this for me"
" I did it for you because I love you", Dr. Whooves replied back.
After that Derpy and Dr. Whooves walked around Ponyville for a little while because they both love gazing at the stars at night.
" Aren't the stars so beautiful and wonderful?" Derpy said as if she were hipnotized.
" Yes, but not as beautiful and wonderful as you Derpy." Dr. Whooves replied back
After about an hour later Derpy and Dr. Whooves Decided to go back to their little cottage in Ponyville. When they got to their cottage they both crawled into bed together and enjoyed their little of time of sleep.
In the morning Derpy thought it was going to be a normal day again, but then she remembered last night and the fun she had when she was there. Derpy couldn't help but smile at that memory and soonly realized it was the best she'd had for a long time. She was so caught up in her memory she nearly ran into her husband.
" Oh, sorry sweetie, I didn't see you there." Derpy said suddenly as the memory in her head faded.
" That's ok, I was just putting on my coat to get off to work," Dr. Whooves replied to back.
As Dr. Whooves left, Derpy's smile on her face quickly faded. She wished that every night could be like the one she just had. She wished that Dr. Whooves could stay home with her and enjoy all the thing she does together. She wanted Dr. Whooves to be there standing next to her, laying his head against her shoulder and reading a book they would both enjoy together. Dery wasn't much of a reader, but if her husband was there she would read it for his sake. But at least she had that memory of last night. She would always remember it no matter what. It was the thing to remember when she depressed or sad. It would make Derpy smile every time. Forever and always, it was something to remember.
