//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: The Stallion that Can't be Moved. // by Saint-Mercy //------------------------------// Shining Armor stood on the corner of the street. He remembered this exact spot, and he cherished it so very close to his own heart. This is where he first met the mare that took his heart. Of course she didn't really know who he was, but it didn't matter to him. Shining Armor knew that this mare was his heart's desire. He could recall it like it just happened. Armor walked around the corner and bumped into the pink unicorn mare. Her purple, pink, and yellow striped hair, her shining amethyst eyes. Even her pearly white teeth took his breath away. Shining Armor had never seen such beauty. The mare practically beamed with her glamour. After Shining helped the pink mare off the ground, she thanked him and took her leave. As she left, Armor could only reminisce in the beauty that mare left in his mind. He'd been stuck like this for days, the only thought he could muster was filled with that pink mare. He didn't even know her name. A couple of days, Shining Armor saw the mare in the newspapers, but instead of her just having a horn like she did when they met, she had wings as well. The print above picture read: Princess Mi Amore Cadenza has ascended to Alicornhood. Below her picture was a quote from the mare herself. Please, Cadence is just fine. Shining Armor came out of his memory and took in a deep breath. He pulled the sleeping bag of his back, and pulled out a piece of cardboard that had the pink mare's name on it. Shining used his magic to unroll the sleeping bag and lay it out on the corner of the street. He set up the cardboard on the edge of the street for everypony to see. Armor then used his magic to take off the satchel that was on his back, inside said satchel contained a few apples. After Shining Armor set up his little camp on the corner of the street, he sat down on his sleeping bag and waited. . . . . . "Did you hear about that stallion on the corner of the street?" A grey mare asked a white mare. "Yeah, he's been there for about six hours, ponies say he just set up and sat down, he hasn't moved since then!" The white mare exclaimed, a nosey stallion interrupted the two mare's conversation. "It's stupid, I bet he's gonna leave by tomorrow!" The stallion said. "Oh shush you, you're just jealous because he has a mare he will wait for, more than I can say about a lot of these other stallions!" The grey mare stated. "Whatever!" The stallion said. . . . . . Shining Armor waited on the corner, he wasn't alone though. Several other ponies have crowded around him, all giving him a variety of looks. Some mares looked at him dreamily, he didn't pay to much mind to them though. His heart was set on only one mare, the mare he was waiting for. Some stallions looked at him with sympathy, they might not of understood his exact feelings, but they did have some level of understanding what it felt like to wait on a mare. Other stallions looked at him as if he were an idiot. Those sad lonely stallions wouldn't be able to understand his love on any level, Shining hoped for the best of those stallions. Shining Armor's inside's began to feel empty. As he looked at the small sea of ponies faces, none of them were the face he wanted to see. None of them were Cadence. Shining Armor didn't allow himself to become depressed, rather than thinking of this as a hopeless fight, he decided that maybe he will become popular, and Cadence will see him in the news....maybe she would know that all of this was for her. . . . . . A week has passed, and Shining Armor still hasn't moved, he has eaten all of his apples but out of the kindness in the ponies hearts, they gave him their uneaten lunches as they passed his corner. Guards came to remove Armor from the corner, but they didn't truly have a right to move him, all he was doing was sitting on the corner of the street. All the guards could do was try and intimidate him. Which of course, didn't work. As the guards left Shining Armor, he smiled. He was getting attention from officials. He was becoming known to the entire town. A few ponies walked up to Shining. "Are you the stallion that can't be moved?" A blue stallion pegasus asked Shining. There was a green unicorn next to the blue pegasus, the unicorn levitated some paper and a pen. "Yes, I guess I am." Shining simply stated. The unicorn's magic, quickly made the pen write against the paper. "How long have you been here?" "A few weeks." Shining simply stated, he just wanted to get this over with, the faster he finished this interview the faster Cadence will come for her waiting stallion. The unicorn's magic continues to work the pen. "What exactly are you waiting for?" The blue pegasus asked. "I'm waiting for my pink mare." Shining said, his voice full of hope, his heart yearning for the mare of his dreams. "Anything else you would like to tell Equestria Daily?" The blue pegasus asked shining. Shining shook his head at the two ponies. He gave them the bare minimum of information he could. This gave the newspaper a strong lace of mystery. . . . . . . As the newspaper spread out across all of Equestria, Shining could only hope that Cadence saw it. Even if she didn't he would wait. He would wait the rest of his life if necessary. Shining truly meant it. He would wait forever. Another two weeks have passed, Shining was slowly becoming empty hearted, but he still would wait. . . .. All together Shining has waited fifty seven days. He became a tourist attraction, anypony that ever came to the town would always visit the Stallion that Can't be Moved. One day, a certain pink coated mare visited the town for royal business, she has heard much about this Stallion that Cant be Moved. It sounded romantic, and being the princess of love she just had to see this stallion, the only reason she hasn't visited this stallion yet was because she was so busy with work, hay she couldn't even read the daily newspapers like she used to. As the pink mare made her way towards the stallion, she received many glares from nearby ponies. All of the ponies knew who this Alicorn was, she was the princess of love, but she was also the mare that the stallion waited for. She had kept him waiting for almost two months. They didn't like her, but at least she was finally coming for Shining. . . . Cadence finally saw a crowd of ponies surrounding a corner of a street, this could only meant that, on the other side of the wall of ponies was the Stallion that Can't be Moved. The ponies respectively moved out of the way for the princess, even some of the reluctant mares moved aside for her. There in front of her sat the Stallion that couldn't be moved. . . . Shining looked up at the pink alicorn, his heart leaped with glee, the whole in his body finally filled itself. He waited, and she came for him. He stood up and gave her a smile. Cadence herself had no clue why this unmovable stallion was moving for her. All she could do was stare at this handsome white unicorn. He moved in for her and stole a kiss, a kiss that felt so right. Cadence, being the princess of love itself, gave the kiss back to him, she could feel the love emanating from his body. The two kept their kiss for a good fifteen second, the sounds of 'D'awws' were heard around the two ponies. "I waited." Shining said to Cadence. "For me?" The princess asked. Shining nodded to her. "Why?" She asked. "I found something worth waiting for."
