//------------------------------// // Cheer up dude // Story: Cheer up dude // by derpychic //------------------------------// I was walking home from the market one day, when I saw my good friend Midnight, who looked extremely sad, a deep depression you might say. I walked up to her to ask her what was wrong. "Are you okay Midnight?" I asked as I walked up to the navy blue pegasus with yellow and brown hair and ice blue eyes. "Yeah, just dealing with life." she asked. Upon further inspection I noticed that it looked like she hadn't smiled in a while. Now, I'm not the happiest pony in Equestria, but I try to keep everypony happy, not super bubbly and cheerful, and constantly smiling, but at least nice and joyful. "Oh, I just figured that you looked a little sad and wanted to cheer you up." "Yeah, I guess I could go for some cheering up." she said as she tried to smile. I felt kinda bad for her, who or what made her like this? Well I wasn't going to ask, at least not now. "Come on, then, I know a few good places to go when I feel sad." "Okay." she responded as she slowly followed me. We didn't say a word to each other until we were almost to our destination. "So what's wrong? Why are you sad?" "Nothing." "Well, we're here." I chose the library, I like to read in my spare time, who doesn't? "Meh." I wondered if that ment if she didn't care or just doesn't like books. "Come on, let's choose something to read." After about half a hour we chose our books, I chose "Vamponie academy" and Midnight chose "Maximum Ride and the alicorn experiment". After we checked out the books we went to my house, it was the first time any of my friends ever went to my house. "Pretty cool place you got." said Midnight. "Thanks, I reckon that we stay down here though because Derpy crashes into my room and the attic a lot." "So, have you read this book before?" she asked, holding out the book. I have read the first one but can never find the others in the series. "Yeah, I've read the the first one at least. I can never find the rest though." Then there was a big crashing noise, I knew exactly what, or should I say who it was. So I quickly trotted upstairs. I looked in my first, the ceiling was intact, there wasn't a grey pegasus sitting and my navy blue bed with raspberry colored sheets trying to figure out if her wing's broken, the purple carpet and walls were clean, it was perfectly fine. Then I checked the attic. My attic is pretty much empty, with the exception of a few books that I didn't like. "Hi Heaven, can you please help me down?" said Derpy, who was stuck in a hole in the ceiling. "Come on." I said as I used magic to pull Derpy out of the roof. Luckily she crashed into the attic this time. I always tell her that if she crashes into my house then should aim for the attic. That's usually where she lands, but she occasionally gets dizzy and lands in my room. It takes less time to fix the attic roof than it is to fix the roof in my room. I mean come on, I have a guest over, I can use magic to fix both ceilings, but I would have to redecorate my room (or at least where she crashed), making it take longer. My parents always told me that beauty isn't important, but that doesn't mean for us to live like slobs. Then I realized that Midnight was there watching us. "HeeHee," she chuckled "hahaha, ahem, I guess I should help." she continued, and she did exactly what she said, she gathered all the pieces of wood as I escorted Derpy out. "I'm back!" I yelled as I walked into the room. I then used a repair spell to fix the roof and went back downstairs with Midnight. We read and had a little chat about what we both like. This was the only time I've ever really told anypony about myself and what I like. "Yeah, I love to read." "No offense, but I'd rather be doing something athletic." she said. "Okay, well, if you'd like we can go outside and do something A race maybe?" I suggested, now I'm not the most athletic, but I could always go for a good race. It reminds me of when my sister would chase me when we were younger. "Yeah, that might take my mind off of things." she responded. We set up the race course and started getting ready. "Ready, set, go!" I said as we started. She won the first three rounds, and I cheated the last two by using a teleportation spell. At first she was mad, but when she realized that it was a prank she got a kick out of it. "I guess I'm in a good enough mood to tell you what's wrong," she said with a giggle in her voice "my parents haven't really been listening to me. It seems like they just care about my brother and my sister." she continued in a shaky voice. Then she began to cry. "It's okay, I'm here for ya'." I said as I hugged her. We did nothing but race that day, and it was actually kinda fun, even if I'm not the least bit athletic. No, you know what? It wasn't "kinda" fun, it was fun. THE END!
